“We came to the Ruddy Duck while in town visiting family so we could have a belated anniversary date.. We had a most incredible experience...our server David was attentive and pleasant without being over bearing...his menu recommendations were on point! The crab dip is stellar...my husband and I got what was on special...he got the crab cake burger with duck fat fries and I got the steak frites...everything was cooked perfectly! The duck fat fries beat out the well known ones from our current home town, and the steak was melt in your mouth...the mushroom peppercorn sauce was to DIE for... I was so thrilled that Chef agreed to sell me a small container of just the sauce to take home. My husband is going to regret that he brought me, because now we are going to have to go back every time we come back to visit family...10 stars out of 5! ❤️“

“My favorite thing of the night was our waitress she was perfect! Ashley did a great job at taking care of us and making sure our orders came out correctly. She was nice and always checking in on us. The chef, Val, cooked an incredible meal for me and my wife. It's the best steak I've had in the county in a while. It made me feel like I was at home. All of my food tasted so good and the atmosphere was perfect. The lighting was great and the music wasn't super loud. My wife and I definitely found our favorite steak house now. “1.5 HOUR DINING LIMIT!!!! Chief's will always be one of our favorites! The food is terrific 100% of the time, year after year. The staff work really hard to make us feel welcome and attend to all food/beverage needs. My one criticism (and everyone I've spoken to feels the same) is the 1.5 hour limit for dining. We don't go out for a leisurely dinner often, so when we do, we like to order appetizers, main courses, desserts and plenty of drinks. When you find yourselves a minute into dessert and a fresh round of drinks, and it's time to pay the $250-$300 check and leave b/c the 1.5 hour limit is up, it's a total bummer! This time, we actually had to pick up our desserts & drinks and find room [for only some of our party] at the bar, so we could finish. If you are going to have a time limit, put a timer on the table. At least that way, when your time is almost up, you can forget about ordering the desserts and last round of drinks. It was too embarrassing to rush to carry the rest of our meal to the bar, just so we could finish what we paid for.“

“The food truck is open Thursday through Sunday from around 11 AM to 7 PM I believe. Let me start this by saying I am from the south and we eat a lot of fried foods in especially fried seafood. I moved here and I was looking for a good place to eat that reminded me of home. At the time it had been pretty hard to find. I decided to stop by this food truck one day when I was on the way home from work. The guy that works there is very nice and patient. I ordered the two pieces of tilapia, six jumbo shrimp, one crabcake, and it came with fries and two hush puppies. Everything was amazing and reminded me of home. All of the food was cooked crispy, and it was not soggy or floppy. Everything was seasoned perfectly, not over season or under season. And the service was quick, it might have took 10 minutes. Everything is always fresh and it never taste like seafood. If you eat a lot of seafood, then you understand what I mean, yes, it is seafood, but it is not supposed to have that fishey smell. Overall, I wish I could give this place a 10 out of 5, but I will settle for a five out of five. Also, the seasoned butter sauce that he has is great.“

The egg rolls are fantastic, dumplings are delicious, my general tso’s was perfect, pepper steak was tender and the fried rice was out of this world.“

“Even though the weather was cloudy and rainy on this late September day, our group received a warm welcome and we were served professionally and with a smile. The food is personally cooked by the owner, who also came out to greet us. The Brussel Sprouts and Sweet Chili Shrimp were delicious, as usual. My husband got his usual, the Front Porch Salad, with shrimp which he enjoyed. My daugther and I got the Turkey BLTA. Neither of us liked it. It had an odd taste, which could have been the smashed avocado. Between that and the shredded lettuce, it made the bread soggy and difficult to eat. Not something we would order again. Her onion ring side and my cinnamon/sugar sliced sweet potatoes were a big hit! Otherwise, all was ok. We generally are fans of the Front Porch. It's best to stick with items you prevoiusly enjoyed.“

She was on top of it with drinks, food, boxes and cleanup. The chef was fantastic! He was funny, talented in his skill and the food was delicious. We were told at the end that he was the owner, which made the whole interaction even better. He took the time to do his job and talk to us, all while getting ready to feed a party of 80 people. What a wonderful group of folks, from the time we got there to the time we left we felt like part of the group. I even give you two free drink passes when you arrive for their very nice pub bar. “This was our 1st visit & 1st time hearing of this place; we're out of towners & were visiting our daughter (an SMCM student) who chose this restaurant. The smells emanating from their kitchen to the parking lot were so delicious & enticing, who wouldn't wait for a seat? After a short 10 min for a table & not long after being seated, the server got our drink orders. My only issue w/ the server was that she kept running off before we were finished ordering or could even ask a question, she was nowhere to be seen except on the few occasions she came to check on us, yet we repeatedly had to ask for drink refills. When you see empty glasses on the table-why not ask if they'd like a refill? I guess it frees you up to not be running for drinks & saves them $$, but when you're spending your hard earned $$ in there, you don't wanna leave thirsty. The food arrived fairly quickly & was hot. My daughter got the meatloaf & I got a cheeseburger; they had to be an entire lb. each, no exaggerating; but the other portion sizes were enough to sate the avg appetite, and no leftovers. But everyone enjoyed the food, we had cheeseburger & meatloaf to take home. The prices were pretty avg for this type of restaurant. I'd definitely go back again.?

Parking: The lot is kinda small & on the weekend parking can be tricky @ dinner time. May have to wait for someone to leave or park in a different, further lot.“

“My wife and I had the opportunity to dine in your restaurant this evening. We chose an early dinner to have time to relax and enjoy the view. I had to write and tell you what a fantastic experience we had. Hannah was our server and she was a shining example of hospitality and great service. Not over bearing but there to see what we needed or how things were food wise. She alone would be our reason for coming back. But the food was absolutely incredible. From the hush puppies, wings, crab cakes and blackened chicken, everything was cooked to perfection and tasted incredible. Not normally dessert eaters, Hannah sold us on two of your deserts! The apple cobbler and tiramisu cheesecake! Again, both were flawless. Please share this with your BOH staff as I know they are often overlooked and of course we sing our praises to Hannah! “Always good food. Service good. Make sure waitresses who wish to complain about customers, do so in private and not where other customers can hear them. I was a customer who over heard the waitress complaining honestly about where a customer sat and that she ordered by way of carry out and then decided to dine in. Restaurant dining was not busy and waitress complained to the customer about the fact that she could lose out on money since they ordered carry out and not with her. Just unprofessional and honestly not the customers problem nor did it need to be brought to their attention. Just saying.“
