Had a great meal at WJ Dent & Sons / Chief’s Your Neighborhood Bar. The cream of crab soup was definitely the highlight for me—full of flavor and easily one of the better cream of crab soups I’ve had. The catfish dinner was also really good, cooked just right and had great flavor.

Fabulous prime rib dinner! The collard greens were spot on as was the service, atmosphere at a very fair price. Don't miss out while enjoying the scenic drive through Southern Maryland.

WJ Dent & Sons/Chief's Your Neighborhood Bar is a classic dive bar and locals hangout. The local specialty stuffed ham is a must try. It is a favorite place to get stuffed ham, with one customer driving over 6 hours round trip from the Eastern Shore to get it several times a year. The stuffed ham sandwich, stuffed ham rolls, stuffed ham pizza, eggrolls, Philly cheese steak, and chicken salad are all mentioned as delicious. The food is terrific 100% of the time, year after year. The staff work really hard to make customers feel welcome and attend to all food/beverage needs. The wait staff is friendly and helpful. There is a 1.5 hour dining limit. This is a criticism, as it can be a total bummer when a party finds themselves a minute into dessert and a fresh round of drinks and it is time to pay a $250-$300 check and leave. Some customers have had to pick up desserts and drinks and find room at the bar to finish. The atmosphere is wonderful. It is a convenient food option for those who live down the street. The pizzas are enjoyable but the quality does not seem consistent. There is limited seating, so take out is preferred by some.
