“Ordered Uber Eats from here. One of the best ramen places in the area! Their chasiu are thick and yummy while some other ramen places are using minced pork for ramen which is complete joke. Dunno why rating is so low but try this place out!“

“I came here when they first opened in 2020, and I came again recently (2026). The flavor and quality remains great, although the line these days is really long and their opening hours don't make it easy for those outside of DC to stop in for a taste. I would recommend coming to give this place a try if you haven't been before, but it's not really worth the 1-hour or more line for a second visit.

Also, for their vegetable-only toppings, the portobello slices are decent, but for $21 base price for a smaller, more shallow bowl of ramen I would love a serving of heartier, tastier grilled maitake or king oysters. But with the higher costs, taxes, and fees of operating in DC, I could understand how the economics of that might not work well.“

“Every SINGLE time I order from Akira. They do something that just warms my heart and expresses the level of service that is rare to find these days. In addition to phenomenal flavor profiles- the way they package your order with care each time is unreal. If I ask for something as simple as extra broth or extra ginger they never forget. I really appreciate them and they are my ramen go to each time.“

“Truly excellent ramen. The broth is the critical element. Theirs is simmered for 18 hours to extract all of the umami. Our server, Karl, was friendly, knowledgeable and professional. He made our experience. Great cocktails on top of amazing food. Highly recommend.“

“Best daily spot in the foggy bottom area. I’ve been a student here at GW and now in my senior year I’ve realized this place is a part of my daily life. The staff is more than welcoming and serve me and multiple friends with love and care. There’s a reason we are here 3x a week and the food definitely is a huge role in that too.

Chicken Katsudon Boxed Entree is my go to!

P.s. regarding the racism part, my group and I are from all walks of life and I don’t say that lightly. We have never personally ever had any form of racism in our experience. Regardless on our skin color, facial hair or physical appearance at all.“
