“The noodle soup was so flavorful and was perfect! I had the signature dish Lanzhou Beef Noodle Soup with thin noodles. The noodles are hand pulled and made fresh every day and you can tell by the excellent texture and flavor! My new favorite restaurant! Also we were honored by four songs excellently played on the baby grand piano. Thank you for a delightful dinner, perfect service, and inviting atmosphere. I highly recommend Chopin Noodle House and look forward to trying more dishes on the menu. ❤“

“First time I have ordered here and I was delighted ...food was delivered to my house within 25 min, it arrived hot and delicious. I tried the Subgum wonton dish which was chocked full of Chinese vegetables, pork, chicken, beef and shrimp in a mild tasty red sauce...very good. The second order was for Sesame chicken, this was by far the best version of this dish I have ever tasted! Usually with Chinese carryouts the rice comes in small containers, not this place, the portion of rice is huge for each dish you order. Finally, the chicken fried rice was yummy, with tiny diced vegetables and plenty if chicken. If the rest of the food is as good as my first order, I'll be ordering here a lot!“

“I ordered 2 entrees and one side. White rice for the side and 2 entrees of Beef and Broccoli but she ran out of it while putting the last scrapes on my tray, yet it wasn't 2 entrees but more like one and a half scoop. Where's the rest!!“

“We partnered with this establishment many times in catering/festivals and has truly been a successful partnership. Yunnan Asian cuisine is a bit difference from our usual Cantonese Asian cuisine however, Water Song has always exceeded our expectation with their authentic ingredients.“

“The lady at the counter was super nice, got me my food as soon as it was ready. I got the general Tso’s chicken. Portions were very large and the chicken was super crispy and flavorful. When I was leaving she offered me a soda from the fridge. I don’t know if it was part of the meal but I did not read that so it felt like a kind gesture. Amazing service with good food. Only complaint is there is no dining area. Even a few tables would be nice for taking someone out to eat. Great resturant“

“Tried for the first time last night on a whim and really liked the dishes. My only plight as the portion sizes were so large and we ordered two dishes so we had lots of extras of the same thing. Next time will definitely ordered one dish to share, or two different ones to have more variety. Was a little overpriced. Paid $100 for two dishes and two bar drinks.“

“Food was delicious and straightforward. The wait time wasn’t too long, especially since you can start eating as soon as they roll out the cart of steamed and baked dishes. Highly recommend their duck and beef lo mein. Make sure to get their steamed Crystal Shrimp and steamed pork buns!“

“We visited this evening. Food was fantastic! I really enjoyed the soup dumplings! The staff was super courteous. I had brought in dessert (a cake) from outside and they were super nice about it. They even offered to refrigerate it for us! After dinner, they brought us fresh plates, forks and a knife. Despite being very busy they also don't rush you too much.“

“This place is, hands down, the best Chinese food I've ever had. The service was amazing and so kind! I've always loved Mei Fun, but Golden Coast has out done themselves with this meal. Great portions and it was so flavorful! I would highly recommend this place to anyone!“

“The gyozas were some of the best we ever had and the service was outstanding. However, the menu can be a bit confusing for newcomers. Both our noodle dishes were tasty (one with beef and the other one with fish). Somehow, the noodles felt a bit overcooked. May be that’s the way they were supposed to be but we prefer them firmer. We will be back to try other dishes.“

“Nestled in a bustling shopping center alongside Honey Pig, Chin Xi'an Style Restaurant is a hidden gem that specializes in handpulled, numbing Szechuan noodles.
During our Saturday lunch visit, the restaurant was buzzing with activity. Limited seating means you might have to wait 5-10 minutes for a table during peak times, but trust me, it’s worth it. The atmosphere is casual yet vibrant, perfect for a quick meal.
We started with the 12 Hour Stewed Pork Hand Pulled Noodles and the Spicy Pork Noodles, alongside the “you pick 3” cold dishes: dried tofu skin, sweet heat cabbage, and shredded potatoes. We couldn’t resist adding a Spicy Cumin Beef Murger, served in a crisp baked flatbread.
The handpulled noodles were undeniably the highlight. Each strand was perfectly al dente, with just the right amount of chew. The stewed pork noodles stole the show—flavorful, tender, and the kind of comfort food that warms your soul. The spicy pork noodles were a bit of a letdown in comparison; while enjoyable, they lacked the bold flavor profile that made the stewed pork so memorable.
The cold dishes were a delightful accompaniment. The crunchy texture of the shredded potatoes and sweet heat cabbage provided a refreshing contrast to the chewy noodles. They added a nice touch of variety to our meal.
As for the Murger, it was decent. The cumin flavor was prominent and well-executed, making it a satisfying choice to round out our meal.
Overall, Chin Xi'an is an excellent spot for those craving authentic Szechuan flavors. The noodles are the star, and with a few tweaks to some dishes, this place could easily elevate itself to must-visit status. If you find yourself in Ellicott City, make sure to stop by for a taste of their handpulled noodles—you won’t regret it!
Vegetarian options: several vegetarian options
Parking: plenty of adjacent lot parking
Kid-friendliness: menu is somewhat friendly to kids as long as they like noodles
Wheelchair accessibility: Restaurant can get a little cramped at peak hours for a wheelchair. No stairs present is a plus“

“The worst meal in recent memory and I eat Chinese once a week. The pork fried rice was soggy boiled rice with a few chunks of pork thrown in. The pepper, beef had no spices whatsoever. Just beef in cornflour and water with food colouring. The noodles were of similar quality.“

“I recently visited this restaurant and was really impressed by the dumplings. The pork gyozas were perfectly crispy, and the crystal shrimp dumplings had a delicious, fresh flavor. Both were definitely the highlights of the meal! However, I did notice that the menu could benefit from more chicken options, as the variety felt a bit limited in that area. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, making it a nice place to enjoy a meal overall. I’d definitely recommend it for dumpling lovers!“

“I ordered lo mien and won ton soup and I would say they both have a different taste than what I’m used to. It’s not as mid as mall Asian food, as the noodles are actually normal size. Lots of scallions in the soup, which I like! But the won ton dough itself was hard, not soft at all.“

“Love this place! Haven't eaten here for years ever since I moved to another state but I'm glad we came here for dim sum when I was in the area. We arrived 15 minutes before opening time on 11am on a Sunday morning and were almost immediately seated. There were already some people eating. Immediately after being seated, the food carts started coming by with a large variety of steaming hot dishes. Food was steaming hot and delicious! The waiter was very attentive, stopping by often to serve us hot tea, iced water, drop off the soy sauce and chili oil when requested, and pick up the empty dishes. The food carts also came by frequently in case we wanted to get more dishes. By 11:10am there was a line of people waiting for a free table. We finished our meal in record time by 11:30. Excellent service! Will come by again when I'm in the area.
Edit 10/6/24:
Had a severe craving for dim sum after coming back from Europe. Arrived 11:30am on Sunday and was seated pretty quickly. Ordered our favorites: beef stew, siumai, sharkfin, stuffed bean curd, sticky rice, etc. The server for our area was really quick with tea, waters, chili oil, picking up empty steamer baskets and dishes, bringing us any extra food to take home, extra take home containers, and getting our bill at the end. If the envious people at home hadn't put in last minute take home orders, we would have been in and out within 30 minutes.“

“The food was great, our waitress was amazing but one thing is fundamentally problematic, the cleanliness. The place is clearly not maintained, the top of the benches are discolored from years of (and I’m guessing) folks touching, the floors are left to be desired, our menus were sticky and gross. The restrooms were just alright. This establishment needs a total make over.
While the food was unexpectedly delicious, I was surprised at the amount vs the price paid. While the portions were smaller than expected, I found the prices to be a smidge high compared to other restaurants in the area. I applaud smaller portion as it generates less waste and helps with our obesity problem. I’m totally ok paying for quality but then, charge appropriately.
Another note was the speed of service. Our food came out within 5-10 minutes of order (for both apps and main dishes). I understand that the menu is smaller and well curated but we felt rushed. We were stunned of how quick the service was, making us wonder if there was a buffet line back there.“

“I wanted to try a new place. So, I got the General Tso's chicken combo with pork fried rice and a shrimp egg roll. I absolutely loved the fried rice with the little bean sprouts in it. My shrimp egg rolls were full of shrimp. And my chicken was very good too.
It tasted good cold later on, too.“

“The food was great, I tried a little of everything. The whole chicken wings were cooked just to my liking with a nice crunch and flavor. The party wings are excellent with many flavor options. The cheesesteak, in my opinion, is one the best in the area. The fried catfish was pretty good, I'm not a huge catfish fan, and the fried whiting was great. The chicken tenders are huge and delicious. The fried shrimp were excellent. In all, I spent about $50 but well worth it, I hope they stick around. Great addition to the shopping center.“

“This place is small and no one else dined in when we were there, but the phone rang off the hook and the doorbell often sounding. The most significant detail I want to mention is the portion size. WOW! I’ve never gotten so much food for my money at a Chinese restaurant. The food is literally served in glass pie plates, to give you an idea of size. It was tasty, too! Many vegetarian options. Veggies were crisp and not overcooked too, which is another great plus!“

“Tried them for the first time today and am sold. Best Chinese food my wife and I have tasted in ages, and we lived in NYC for 4 years. Singapore mei fun - excellent. Happy family - excellent. Combination fried rice - excellent. Shrimp egg rolls - best I've ever tasted, anywhere. Steamed dumplings - very good, but the wrapping was a bit thick and the sauce was a bit scanty. We look forward to trying many, many more selections. Great job!“
