I had the soondae tteokbokki and it was delicious but the variety Korean jeon… I’ll be back just for that. Please be mindful that the Korean ‘pancakes’ are savory and not sweet. I’ll definitely be back to try the rest of the menu.“

“Went here for my daughter’s birthday dinner because she loves korean food and it is just like what we have with my family get togethers. I had never been here before and didn’t know what to expect. The portions are huge and we shared everything with four people (two kids and two hungry pre-teens). We got the Kimchi Pa Jun, dukboki (no cheese or fish cakes), Chicken Ban Ban in Korean sauce, bulgogi (comes with a bowl of rice), mandu, and the spicy sushi combination (3 rolls). I couldn’t believe how large the portions were! Everything was so flavorful and definitely reminded me of eating with my extended family when we had large get togethers. In addition to our order, we also got banchans (sides) of kimchi, potato, green beans, bean sprouts, and tofu. The server (maybe owner?) was so sweet and nice and reminded me of my aunts. The location is not right on 40 like the other restaurants in this area, but it’s not far off. The location wasn’t super busy with people (Wednesday night), but they seem to do well with takeout orders. Will definitely be back for some traditional korean food!“

“Ordered boneless wings. Even though the chicken was thoroughly cooked it seemed like the grease was not hot enough as they were soaked with oil. In addition, there was an odd taste as if the vats were used for cross cooking other proteins. The boneless chunks were also unlike any other I've had as they were very fatty and grisly. Maybe the sandwich or regular wings would be better, but with the other options like Dave's etc, I think I'll have to pass.“

This is the place I come to whenever I want to eat Korean food while living in the United States.
It's similar to Korean hoedeopbap, but you can think of it as healthier and less salty!

“I had steamed monkfish.. There are no real good restaurants in ELLICOTT CITY, where I live now. There is no restaurant that is particularly good at steamed monkfish. However, I ate delicious monkfish for the first time in a while at Hyeban. I love braised monkfish, and for the first time in a long time, I ate it very deliciously. The portion is huge.. If two people come, you can really eat the monkfish to the fullest.. Above all, the service is really the best.. The servers are great. Very friendly.. The female server named EUNJEA was really friendly.. I went there for the first time and asked a lot of questions about the menu, but she responded very kindly and kindly.. I also like the spacious space.. The tables were close together. I like it because it doesn't exist.. The last thing I want to say is that the food at this place is not crazy delicious. Have been here several times and loved it every single time.

Its not flashy, it's not upscale, and it's busy. The people there hardly speak english, but everything is so authentic. They serve barley tea, they have onion salad, and it makes you know that they are legit.

Please don't go here if you are in a rush, looking for something fancy, or are not patient to work past the language barrier.

“The food is always amazing here. The service is good, but not necessarily great. The ladies that are doing the orders and also waiting tables always seem too busy to put in that extra added time with customers that pushes it over the top, but they are definitely pleasant and professional.

That aside, the food is AMAZING. The price is reasonable. The atmosphere is something that appeals to everyone I've brought here so far. Overall, this is definitely an amazing find and a place that I would recommend to friends and family.“

Very authentic from food selection, drinks offered, to interior atmosphere, wall decorations and the service. There is nothing fancy here, only hearty Korean vibes and food here. Everything is reasonably priced given the shareable size portions of each order. If you understand Korean culture, you will know how authentic this place is and will not complain about the service. “We stopped by for Thai food but noticed an abundance of Korean restaurants in the mall. After a quick Google Maps check, we chose this one—and it did not disappoint! The authenticity was evident, with all the staff being Korean and only a few speaking English.

The food was excellent for the price. We ordered the special combination for two, which was more than enough for three—my husband, teen son, and me. The highlight was the thick pork belly: it looked greasy at first, but once grilled and cut into bite-sized pieces, it was incredible. The fat rendered out, leaving the meat perfectly crispy and chewy.

The two men also shared a seafood pancake, while I was already satisfied with the small dishes—like the steamed egg and soup—that came with the meal.“

“Great service, it's an over the counter restaurant, how much can you expect? I only come for soondae guk combo. I used to live near the Annandale Seoul Soondae. Always loved soondae guk. “I stopped here today for a hot dog while in the mall. The man behind the counter was very nice and there were a variety of hot dogs to choose from. I had the sausage and mozzarella hot dog and it was really good with the sweet chili sauce. I would have another hot dog from here if I am in the mall again.“
