“I went here a few months back and loved it. However, I didn't leave a review at the time because I wanted to come back and see if the quality is consistent. When I came back, I can proudly say that in the few months' time, the quality hasn't changed, and the portions are enough to feed many! The Curry Chicken Udon is my favorite and the fried chicken here is juicy and well cooked!

This place deserves more recognition- I know the Baltimore location is pretty popular but Kong Pocha as a whole deserves more recognition. For the time being, I would say this location in Columbia is a hidden gem in plain sight... (if you're not already familiar with Kong Pocha)“

The online ordering system has indeed much improved, thank you.
One more small thing, sometimes the wings/ chicken in the sandos are a bit dry, I suspect maybe someone is cooking them a little too long. Overall food still great though.

Previous review:
I have liked almost everything I've tried here, particularly the naked wings and the sandos. The slaw and mac and cheese are also good. I have a complaint though in regards to ordering online which is quite awful.

Trying to order from their website opens 3 extra tabs; when you finally get to the right website you can't modify anything or make substitutions or even add more than 1 of the same item (you can do this in the cart though) and god forbid you accidentally hit the back button and lose the page, your cart is not saved. Please make your website less janky.“

“I’ve been here twice now, the atmosphere is calm and quiet with kdrama OSTs playing in the background. I like that you can hear the music but it is also not too loud for conversations. It was mostly empty both times I went. The servers are very sweet and kind, they also have a cute robot server that comes out sometimes. They set out some banchan (side dishes) before you order, their Kimchi is very good. Their menu is quite affordable, most things are between $11-$15 or so.

I had the fish cake soup and it was very warm and comforting, the bowl was very big so I took half of it home. Their veggie kimbap is yummy too. I don’t recommend getting multiple dishes unless you are planning to share since the portions are so big.

The next time I went I got Jjajangmyeon (black bean noodles), it was one of the best noodle dishes I’ve ever had, so savory and delicious. I crave it every now and then 🤤

They give you a little yakult yogurt milk when you pay. Me and my friends love Korean food so we’ll definitely be coming back!“

“Visited Jumak on Sunday night around 7:30 pm. They kept the interior and decor from the previous business Kare Bar, however added neon lights on one side of the wall. I personally felt the decor was very outdated and looked “cheap”. They left the bar “dark” which made the entire room looked very dark and not welcoming. Really wished they can consider redo their decor.

Despite having my personal opinion about their decor, their food was surprisingly very good. The portion of their entree is huge and good enough for two people to share. We ordered Chicken Katsu Don and today’s special “miso truffle salmon gnocchi”. The chicken katsu was absolutely delicious and a great comfort food. The panko breaded chicken cutlet was flavorful and crispy. The steaming egg was also savory. I especially appreciated the dish was served at a high temperature and not lukewarm. The daily special “miso truffle salmon gnocchi” was phenomenal, perfectly balanced with Alfredo creamy sauce and truffle. Both dishes were highly recommended!

We also ordered a glass of Peach Makge Bellini and Citrus Makge Sangria. Both cocktails were too sweet and not having enough alcohol, which could be improved.

Overall, Jumak is highly recommended. I also appreciate they open at late night.“

“I really liked the food. Unfortunately, I dont have a picture. I took Chicken katsu and my friend ordered bulgogi. chicken katsu was super crispy and tasty. I wish they gave a little bit more sauce to go with it. I felt it wasn't enough. Banchan's were really good. I liked the warm water they severed at the beginning. I ordered kimbap to go and it was really good and the roll was pretty big. My kids loved it ! Definitely going back to try more. Vibes like a corner little place with locals & different age groups enjoy visiting.“

“As someone who has lived in the area for 20+ years, 대장금 (Dae Jang Geum) is hands down the best KBBQ restaurant in Ellicott City! They have the most delicious 반찬 (side dishes) - which are complimentary - and provided Garlic, Lettuce, and Ssamjang for the meat, which really made our BBQ experience feel authentic Korean. Our server cooked our meat perfectly for us and constantly asked us if she could get us anything. The 계란찜 (steamed egg) and 된장찌개 (soy paste soup) were also complimentary with the set and tasted great. This spot is so underrated and highly recommend anyone to check it out!“

“We had a good time there. The seafood pancake was great. The snowflake dumplings were good too. And of course the beef bone soup was very good. I would advise to get the one with the three different beef. We also like their side dishes. So yes, we're likely to go back.“

The restaurant is calm and quiet, and always plenty seating available.

The server who took care of me was warm and made sure to check in regularly.
Food’s always cozy, portions are generous, and their banchan’s top tier, which they bring out first while you wait for the food.

My favorite personal go-to’s always boil down to gamjatang or kalguksu - but you really can’t miss picking anything off the menu.

“This was my second time eating here. The last time was years ago, and they didn't include lettuce with the BBQ, which was one of the reasons I started going elsewhere. However, my sister chose this restaurant for her birthday, so we gave it another try.
I'm happy to say they now include lettuce! The banchan was decent, the kimchi was delicious, and the BBQ was excellent. We ordered the second combo with the samgyeopsal and marinated beef. My brother-in-law did the grilling (as usual!), and I ordered the large naengmyeon (cold noodles in a delicious icy broth). I ate until I felt like I was going to explode!
The only downsides were that the space felt a bit cramped, and the prices were slightly higher than the other Korean restaurant we usually visit on Bethany Lane. Nevertheless, the most important thing is that the food tasted authentically Korean. 😋 The waitress was also very attentive, which made the experience even better.“

“Micky’s Soju House is a fantastic place for late-night eats. Very affordable for such high quality food (I had the Hangover Ramen) and I see myself coming here more often for meals with friends. “The food is always on point, the service is just get the food to you and go, and the seating isn’t great, but you can do take out easily enough. The tofu seafood stew is my favorite, it rarely comes with a lot of seafood, but lots of silken tofu and the sauce is perfection. There are a lot of good Asian eats in this area, this one is great for a quick bite or take out. The sushi is also some of the best simple sushi rolls I’ve had in the entire state. Fresh and made to order.“

“Catonsville/Ellicott City has a lot of great asian restaurants. There's one that is a bigger chain, and they are great... but then we went to BB.Q and they are hands down the best Korean style fried wings I've ever had. My wife and I have been there twice. The first time, we went a little mild/medium to test the waters. The second time we went all in. I got the Wings of Fire, she got Gang-Jeong. We got Rose Ddeok-Bokki on the side, it's so delicious and acts as a kind of palate cleanser to save your mouth from the heat. If you like spicey heat, that order delivers and then some.“
