“First visit here and I had a great experience! I ordered a chicken and lamb combo over rice because it was one of the dishes I've had a few times before at other restaurants.I was pleasantly surprised by the dish here. The rice had amazing flavor from the whole spices used, which wasn't overpowering but subtle. The chicken was tender and plentiful. The best part was the sauce though! What I've had so far in halal rice bowls has been some kind of mayo or a thick version of hot sauce. At Chopan's, the sauce seemed to be actual tahini, which had nice consistency and an enjoyable sour flavor from the lemons.The only thing I'd want better is the dine-in experience - I was given food on a paper plate with use-and-throw cutlery. it seems like it has become the norm after the pandemic, which sucks because good cutlery adds to the overall experience!I look forward to trying out their Kababs on my next visit ?“

“Recently had dinner with my wife at Rudy's. While we have been dining here for several years, we had not been there for some time, so we were delightfully surprised at the new (to us!) decor. The bread and red pepper sauce they bring out immediately is delicious, and with a glass of Raki really whets your appetite for the meal. This occasion we had kabobs, my wife the vegetable and I the lamb. We requested salad rather than rice, and the dishes came out beautifully arranged, too bad we didn't take a picture. The lamb was delicious, with a distinctive Turkish seasoning, and accompanied by some cacik yoghurt sauce I also asked for. My wife really liked her vegetable kabob as well. We enjoyed a bottle of Kavaklidere Yakut wine, which is a little pricey, but a wonderful accompaniment with any of the entrees at Rudy's. Finished off with the Turkish coffee, and no room this time for dessert. An excellent meal as always, with great friendly service, and of course some lively banter with Rudy!“

“I got a chicken pita wrap with Greek fries and both were so good! The wrap was super packed with everything, very filling and stuffed with toppings for such a small looking pita! Everything was wrapped nicely and nothing got soggy despite delivery. I just wish the fries were covered in some sauce, while the cheese and the flavors are great, they're kinda minimal and they don't give the fries the drenched feel I was looking for. I'll probably try a different side next time!“

Our waiter Raphael was very attentive and a pleasant conversationalist. We enjoyed the stuffed calamari, Dover sole, and lobster pasta. All were very delicious. I elected to filet the Sole myself, but please note that it does come bone-in. The stuffed calamari is not the little calamari bites, but is the size of a chicken breast. The lobster pasta is very fresh, and the sauce has a sweet acidity that is to die for. Will return again!“

“A new spot that we’ve been trying to go here since it opened. Very “Octo” themed and has the decor to go with it. It has a nice bar downstairs with tables in the back. Walk upstairs and you’ll find a quaint room with more tables and a very nice separate bar for private parties or as an additional bar. Everything we tasted was great and the presentation was a delight to the eyes. You have to try the octopus ceviche and the ostrich tartar. The drinks were very tasty as well and everything was adequately priced. We’re going to add this spot to our dinner outing rotation and bring our supper club members. Definitely the best spot we’ve been to in the past year.“

My AHI Tuna was perfect in all respects and the quality was most evident in its color and texture with a perfect searing. My assocites crab cake was as good as it gets in the Maryland tradition. They are usually overpriced, portion sizes are never up to par and it can be a stomach storm waiting to happen. That being said, after a long night waiting in the ER, I was in an adventurous mood. So I tried Yomna's Halal cart and was blown away! Where do I even start? The price! The flavors! The portion size! I was wrong about it all! For about $10 I got a drink and a meal. I almost felt like I was stealing! The Chicken over Rice is a culinary delight of flavors! The perfectly seasoned grilled chicken, thinly sliced over a generous bed of aromatic rice, smothered in that magical, white, tangy, creamy sauce and topped with a flavorful (not too spicy) hot sauce providing a satisfying kick of heat! All on top of a bed of lettuce, that was still fresh and crunchy. It might be one of the best things I've had in Baltimore. This is a must-try! If you're into food cart and if you aren't and best of all, no toilet roulette!“

I got the oxtail with rice n peas and ordered a side of plantain. Hubby got brown stew chicken and we ordered the ginger pineapple drink and sorrel. I was pleasantly surprised that the ginger pineapple drink is fresh. You can taste the real ginger and pineapple and you can taste the ginger and sorrel in the sorrel as well.
