It’s the kind of place where you struggle to decide what to order because everything sounds good. Service was just as impressive. The staff were friendly, attentive, and made us feel right at home without being intrusive. Drinks came quickly, food arrived hot, and we never felt rushed — a perfect balance. What really sets Hornet’s Nest apart is that authentic “local gem” vibe. It doesn’t feel corporate or cookie-cutter; it feels like a true community restaurant where people know each other and take pride in what they do. If you’re in the Damascus area and looking for a dependable spot with great food, fair prices, and welcoming service, Hornet’s Nest Grille is absolutely worth a visit. I’ll definitely be coming back. “My son and I love music, especially rock. to be able to order a smoothie named after some of our favorite artists is awesome. secretly hoping they will come out with a Cobain 🤞. They have games to play at the tables which makes it really fun! great atmosphere, amazing people and delicious smoothies!”

“I have been going to Tom and Rays since the old location. What makes them stand out is the cost conscience menu, fresh tasting food, and a staff mostly local high school kids that are professional with can do attitude. Right now I’m raving about something as simple as stewed tomatoes as a complementary side dish. Their breakfast foods including creamed chipped beef fresh. Their lunch and dinner foods bring you back, especially the open faced beef sandwich with mash potatoes and gravy, to a simpler time. Check out their menu and ask them about their pies.”

“I live about 20 minutes away from this Ledo’s. There are two Ledo’s in my hometown and while dough, sauce and cheese is always a winning combo, the taste at these two Ledo’s is consistently inconsistent. I overheard that the Damascus Ledo’s is the best one and taste just like the original in College Park. Hands-down, I gotta say it does. It was worth the 20 minute drive. I will now only be ordering from this one when I get a hankering for pizza. Thank you to the Damascus Ledo’s restaurant for preserving such a singular taste! Can’t wait to return!!”

“My partner and I have frequented this Starbucks location since they came to town, and we've been incredibly pleased by the quality of service and the friendliness of the staff. Heck, the morning crew knows us by name - and yeah, that's likely a sign that we probably spend a little too much time there, but the level of effort that takes isn't a realistic expectation from a quick-service facility, and it makes us feel incredibly special.

Concerning some of the negative reviews, sure, the lines are sometimes long during peak hours, but what would you expect? We've seen this crew absolutely SLAMMED and yet the politeness and the professionalism remains.

“By far the best fried chicken in Maryland! Crispy, juicy, and flavorful all the way through. Loved the mac n cheese. The potato salad was a little bit sweeter than I like, but still good. Overall, I really enjoyed it. I’ll definitely be back!”

“I order from SUBWAY many times for myself and my work colleagues and the 2 ladies who are always working lunch time are amazing! They are so kind and they also make sure to do the best job. By the way, it is hard for me to believe this restaurant does not get 5 stars! We travel all the way from VA to this place at least two times a month. We just love it!!! P.S. I read the reviews that did not give them 5 stars and feel those reviews may not be fair to them. As an example, one review gave them a 4-star commenting food is great, quality is great, but expensive. Yes, if you compare this place with most cheap Chinese all you can ear places, $33 does seem expensive. However, fresh and high-quality food cost me. I am willing to pay extra for good, fresh food. As another example, I was shocked to see a review giving them only 3 stars commenting she got sick (even though she said she loved the food there). I was wondering if she did not cook her food well in the hot pot, or she couldn't handle the spices.”

“We had a real tradition al family style soup meal. The snakehead fish was very tasty and perfectly done. The cucumber salad was amazing. The fresh watermelon juice was perfect to cool the heat of the soup.”

“Great atmoshere, high-end stylish dining room, comfortable seating. The salmon dish was delicious and a large portion. The spinach rice side dish was so delicious! The Ravini Politiko, coconut cake was the best I ever ate! The Thalissina, seafood pasta had plenty of seafood in it and delicious. Even the cappaccino was delicious, very smooth, no bitterness and taste great with dessert! The server, Baris, was attentive, friendly and did a great job taking care of us. Great place to eat, homemade dishes and desserts! Highly recommend it. I will be back!”

“I went here today with my parents and older brother, the place is very clean and welcoming. We didn't have to wait at all to be seated since the place was empty. I ordered the pho with steak and brisket, along with the Booboo's milk tea. The pho didn't have an overwhelming taste, it's taste was very delicious and not that strong. For the milk tea, the tea wasn't that sweet nor that bitter, it was more in the middle. The tapioca pearls weren't that chewy or soft, it was okay at best. Overall, I definitely will be going here again. It's a hidden gem in the Gaithersburg area and definitely should have more people know about it!”
