“I just have to share the fantastic experience we had tonight. My husband and I went to The Local around 6:30 pm (prime time without reservations lol). The only available seats were a high top table in the bar area. They asked us if that was ok and we said “sure”. Within a minute or so after being seated, it became apparent that our vision of a nice relaxing dinner would be impossible in that room. The Preakness was about to begin, and that bar was loud and hopping! Don’t get me wrong, I’m not complaining, I love to see people enjoying themselves. It was a party, but just wasn’t our vibe tonight. We decided we would go elsewhere. We politely informed the hostess that we were going to leave because it was just a tad too noisy, but that we would definitely return again soon. We stressed that we were not mad, or upset. As we were walking to our car, a very nice gentleman followed us out and asked if we would consider returning if they could sit us elsewhere. We said “Of course!” We didn’t think there were any other available tables, but he said they would work something out for us. We told him we didn’t expect them to go out of their way for us and that we could wait. Within five minutes, we were seated at a lovely table in the dining room. We later learned the gentleman that helped us was none other than the owner/ executive chef Zack. We went on to have a delicious dinner with the most attentive and charming server. They demonstrated exemplary customer service, which sadly is lacking in many other establishments. We weren’t expecting any special treatment, but they certainly went above and beyond for us, and it was very much appreciated! When we were leaving, Zack happened to be outside, so he made sure to ask how our experience was. We told him it was amazing, and that his restaurant has been one of our favorites since it opened. We told him we would be back soon. Our experience there tonight is just one of many examples why this restaurant stands out, and why we will always highly recommend them! The fried calamari is heavy in batter & needs all the lemon juice you can squeeze onto it. The dipping sauces have a lot of hot peppers in them, & are both really spicy. Penne Caprese is fresh & tasty. lovely lunch. Unfortunately, portion sizes vary from day to day. Ask for a full portion. Fettucine Genovese is extremely flavorful. The rich flavor of the cheese enhances the braised beef--a good dish. The coffee had a nice flavor but was watery. It would be much better if they used more coffee.“

“My family and I visited the Akira Ramen and Izakaya Restaurant in Bel Air, Maryland yesterday afternoon. The occasion was in celebration of our daughter’s 34th birthday. When we entered the establishment, we were greeted and quickly seated. Our waiter provided us boosters seats for my two granddaughters; menus; two large carafe’s of ice water; napkins and plates. We were very impressed with the large selection of appetizers, sushi platters, drinks and desserts. The food was simply DELICIOUS !! Not even a morsel remained on our plates. I highly recommend Akira Ramen and Izakaya of Restaurant of Bel Air, Maryland. This will be our go to place for Japanese foods. The staff is very polite; large menu selection; reasonably priced; and the food is delicious. 🤗🥰“

“My first dining visit since it’s opening a year ago. The Classic Margarita had a pretty presentation and was oh so good! I really liked the warm tasty chips with salsa and shortly afterwards came the sizzling steak fajita. Flavorful and delicious. I finished the meal with dessert of tasty Churros served prettily with ice cream topped with whipped cream and a cherry on top. My server Alonso was attentive, professional, and polite. “On July 25th I ordered 1 doz. Large Steamed Crabs ($95) from Madonna Seafood. Madonna "used" to be the best place for crabs. They were always consistently seasoned well....that was not the case yesterday. This dozen was completely dried out...they were either VERY overcooked or my guess is they were re-cooked. Definitely not worth $95....please retrain your steaming team or you will lose business. i will be going elsewhere.“

We were celebrating our 20th anniversary and I’m so glad we chose Pairings to do so. The restaurant is quite beautiful , the staff were friendly and knowledgeable and the food was amazing. “Basta Pasta We went there for Father’s Day and Paul’s birthday on July 3rd, just Paul, Brian and me. For his birthday Paul ordered the New York Strip steak with two sides, me and Brian ordered Chicken Chesapeake. Mine and Brian’s were great, 1/2 pound of crab cake over a chicken breast with a lemon sauce, it was delicious. We ordered with red potatoes that were fabulous. Now we come to Paul’s steak. He said it was the best steak he ever had. It was thick and juicy and had a charred outer crust. He shared with us. He ordered asparagus and red potatoes with his. All was served with a big bowl of salad and bread that we shared before our entree. How was that for a review?“

“I hosted a corporate dinner party at Boordy last night, and it was my first time being at their facility and getting to experience what they offer. After a miscommunication between myself and the (external) caterer, who was providing food for the event, I was left scrambling to figure out how to accommodate all of my guests in a very short amount of time. Grace and Carly immediately leapt into action and saved the day, no questions asked. They went above and beyond to help out, never once stressing out or making the inconvenience seem like an inconvenience. It was top notch service from both of them all night and extremely appreciated! The wine was wonderful, the space was great and I can't say enough good things about the service. “I love the vibe here. This restaurant is set to be like a ski lodge. Some tables have ski lift seats! It is a large venue that is broken into sections, making it feel small and intimate. The food is amazing and the main reason to try this place. My favorites include the burgers, mozzarella balls, and the crab? Corn chowder. When you do, I know that you will return. The servers are great as well.“

“We order carry out but my wife said the inside is really clean when she picked up. We both got Pho and an order of Chicken Satay. Bill was $40ish, so a good price and the portions were large for that price. The Pho was awesome and had all the fixings and since we did carry out the containers were all perfectly separated so you could build it your self. The Chicken Satay was really flavorful and was like 2 chicken thighs on each skewer and there was 4 skewers total. Really really great, hate to say it but the Pho could have used some salt or something it was a little bland but I took it as being healthier because of that.“
