I noted on our reservation that it was our anniversary - not only were we seated with a glass of Prosecco for celebration, but our server Brady went a step further and made our dessert special with a happy anniversary message. “I just have to share the fantastic experience we had tonight. My husband and I went to The Local around 6:30 pm (prime time without reservations lol). The only available seats were a high top table in the bar area. They asked us if that was ok and we said “sure”. Within a minute or so after being seated, it became apparent that our vision of a nice relaxing dinner would be impossible in that room. The Preakness was about to begin, and that bar was loud and hopping! Don’t get me wrong, I’m not complaining, I love to see people enjoying themselves. It was a party, but just wasn’t our vibe tonight. We decided we would go elsewhere. We politely informed the hostess that we were going to leave because it was just a tad too noisy, but that we would definitely return again soon. We stressed that we were not mad, or upset. As we were walking to our car, a very nice gentleman followed us out and asked if we would consider returning if they could sit us elsewhere. We said “Of course!” We didn’t think there were any other available tables, but he said they would work something out for us. We told him we didn’t expect them to go out of their way for us and that we could wait. Within five minutes, we were seated at a lovely table in the dining room. We later learned the gentleman that helped us was none other than the owner/ executive chef Zack. We went on to have a delicious dinner with the most attentive and charming server. They demonstrated exemplary customer service, which sadly is lacking in many other establishments. We weren’t expecting any special treatment, but they certainly went above and beyond for us, and it was very much appreciated! When we were leaving, Zack happened to be outside, so he made sure to ask how our experience was. We told him it was amazing, and that his restaurant has been one of our favorites since it opened. We told him we would be back soon. Our experience there tonight is just one of many examples why this restaurant stands out, and why we will always highly recommend them! Thank you all so much for proving customer service is not a dying art!“

“This was a very nice breakfast spot went with my grandma on a whim after looking for places to eat. The tropical elixir was refreshing, the warm spiced milk (I believe that’s what it was called) and the decadent hot chocolate was very good as well! The steak and eggs were pretty good I’d probably get something other than that if you’re used to good steak and eggs. But my grandma loved the avocado toast she got.“

I ordered the classic pit beef sandwich, sliced to order and piled high on a fresh kaiser roll. The meat was tender, juicy, and had that perfect bark on the edges. I topped it with their house-made tiger sauce (a killer horseradish-mayo blend) and a little onion — simple, but absolutely packed with flavor. Service was quick, friendly, and clearly passionate about what they do. You can tell they take pride in the quality of their meat and the experience they’re giving customers. Sides were solid too — especially the hand-cut fries, which were crispy and golden. They are the closest to boardwalk fries that I have had on this side of town. I asked for no tomatoes they gave me tomatoes but no cheese. asked for cookies and creme ice cream took half hour for Ice cream to come out when I told our server to cancel the ice cream cause I had to be out forest hill by 230 and it was already 130 ,(we had already been there 1 1/2 hours for 2 kids meals a sandwich and salad) then the ice cream came out incorrect so I canceled my ice cream order. it was early in the afternoon no line at the window and only 6 tables of guest all small groups.“

Large chicken breasts top & bottom sandwich a heavy layer of spinach & feta on a bed of orzo rice. Beautiful & a wonderful flavor. Finally, 2 deserts were split onto 2 plates for us: the heavy-syrup-filled Greek baklava, & a special lemon filo pastry of the day--very lemony. “Had brunch there this morning and it was super yummy. The only complaint is that the bar chairs are not comfortable. I was in jeans and I was constantly sliding forward. I used my feet to push me back on and hold me there; I shouldn’t have to engage my muscles to sit in a bar chair. Other than that, it was great. Good food, good service, and good bartenders.“

On 1/11/2024 we ordered breakfast and waited in less than 16 minutes our meal was served and it was the best meal we've ever enjoyed everything was hot and tasty even the coffee. “I want to preface by saying the food was amazinggg. I’m quite picky but out of the 4 things we picked off the menu, nothing disappointed. Chicken Caesar wrap with fries, a seafood quesadilla, wings, and crab dip. Two appetizers but everything came out at the same time unfortunately.The location is nice for a sunny day and they have a live band on Sundays, we just missed them since they stop playing at 5pm. The service however, was the worst I’ve ever experienced. You can seat yourselves and then a random server will come and greet you to. Seemed that the servers do not have a designated section like most restaurants do. Dallas came to greet us, ask what drinks we want. Told her a marg and my partner wanted a beer. Took her 15 minutes to bring it. By the time she brought it, we already knew what we wanted from the menu. It was not packed, lotsss of empty tables. Told me she couldn’t find the strawberry puree that the drink called for so she used a “discontinued” syrup. Offered to make me a new one if I didn’t like it. Seems nice of her until that was the very last time we saw her for another HOUR. NO I am NOT exaggerating. To no surprise the drink tasted disgusting, couldn’t even finish a sip. After waiting 45 minutes for our food, and a busser bringing it to us. Still no waitress in sight. I now have no drink for my meal and neither does my boyfriend because who needs 45 minutes to finish one beer bottle. We were almost finished eating when she decided to finally join us. I’m not saying she had to babysit us but damn come ask me if we want refills especially since you offered to remake it or ask if our food even came out right. Me and my partner go to restaurants on average twice a week and we have never been so neglected. It’s funny because we would see her talking to other tables and whatnot here and there but she couldn’t be bothered by us. Also the other tables around us had the kindest servers that were actually doing their job & I had to bother them so we could get containers to go. Would go back for the food but definitely asking for anyone but Dallas. Guess she doesn’t care of the service she gives or even showing face to us because of the automatic gratuity added to the bill. I’m not sure about anyone else, but I only get paid if I do my job. And if you get paid to do nothing please let me know so I can quit my job & join you.“

“I was out running errands and instead of going for fast food or other popular restaurants, I went to this bar because they had corned beef and cabbage on St Patrick's day which was awesome so I tried their spaghetti and meat sauce. It took a while to get waited on, food was was good. The sides they listed on menu board were extra cost and do not come with your meal which I thought was odd. They didn't have any parmesan cheese for my meal which I missed having. They have plenty of tv's to watch the O's. Pool tables,shuffleboard, several beers on tap. I will go back because I try to support local bussinesses. I think I caught them on an off day thus the reason I gave 4 stars.“
