“I just have to share the fantastic experience we had tonight. My husband and I went to The Local around 6:30 pm (prime time without reservations lol). The only available seats were a high top table in the bar area. They asked us if that was ok and we said “sure”. Within a minute or so after being seated, it became apparent that our vision of a nice relaxing dinner would be impossible in that room. The Preakness was about to begin, and that bar was loud and hopping! Don’t get me wrong, I’m not complaining, I love to see people enjoying themselves. It was a party, but just wasn’t our vibe tonight. We decided we would go elsewhere. We politely informed the hostess that we were going to leave because it was just a tad too noisy, but that we would definitely return again soon. We stressed that we were not mad, or upset. As we were walking to our car, a very nice gentleman followed us out and asked if we would consider returning if they could sit us elsewhere. We said “Of course!” We didn’t think there were any other available tables, but he said they would work something out for us. We told him we didn’t expect them to go out of their way for us and that we could wait. Within five minutes, we were seated at a lovely table in the dining room. We later learned the gentleman that helped us was none other than the owner/ executive chef Zack. We went on to have a delicious dinner with the most attentive and charming server. They demonstrated exemplary customer service, which sadly is lacking in many other establishments. We weren’t expecting any special treatment, but they certainly went above and beyond for us, and it was very much appreciated! When we were leaving, Zack happened to be outside, so he made sure to ask how our experience was. We told him it was amazing, and that his restaurant has been one of our favorites since it opened. We told him we would be back soon. Our experience there tonight is just one of many examples why this restaurant stands out, and why we will always highly recommend them! Thank you all so much for proving customer service is not a dying art!“

“We come to eat at the Rosedale location maybe once a month. Even on long waits when we are extra hungry, we always request Draven because he is a rockstar! Our drinks are never empty and requests such as extra napkins, gloves, bibs etc are always met expeditiously. We never have to wait long for food and it is always fresh and hot. Our family are creatures of habit and we typically get the same thing every time. Let’s start with the clam chowder. A generous bowl with a heaping portion of clam. We especially enjoy the crackers on the side for our picky toddler to nibble on. For dinner I always get the Cajun boil with the hook n reel blend *spicy* with sausage and hard boiled eggs as an add on. I like to get a 20 oz. draft ipa. It pairs very well with the spiciness of the boil. Our toddler usually ends up with tenders and sweet potato waffle fries. Recently she has started to eat broccoli (hallelujah!) so we get that on the side as well. For a family of 3, we spend around $130. If you request Draven, please expect to be amazed by the service and expect to tip at LEAST 20% for impeccable service. For those bad at math, 20% of $130 is $26, which I like to bump up to $30. Sorry this was so long! If you got this far, enjoy your dinner at Hook n Reel in Rosedale. We always do!“

“Had brunch with our family yesterday. I have dietary restrictions -no dairy, no gluten- while the menu has lots of options for restrictions they are also very flexible and creative in ways to mix and match offerings for multiple restrictions. I ordered the avacado toast on the cauliflower pizza crust and it was outstanding!! Our server, Brenna, was really patient and professional. She personally saw the chef and explained the special order. And she did it with a smile and an awesome attitude! Definitely worth a return trip!!“

“Got a 1/2 bushel for a friend's birthday and they were absolutely fantastic crabs! They were heavy, full of meat, and a lot of flavor. I'll definitely be using this establishment when I get a taste for crabs moving forward. To top it off, the price was quite reasonable! Thank you.“

“Thursday evening was my first time there. We made a reservation and were seated right away. We were there for steamed crabs. Our server immediately put our order in and brought our drinks. Our crabs came out pretty quickly. I can’t say enough about the two ladies that were serving us. They were very attentive but not to the extreme. Both were very friendly. Our crabs were excellent! Not one light crab. We will definitely go back again. If you’re looking for great food, excellent service and a very friendly atmosphere, Bird River Inn is your place to go. “I have been going here since I was a kid. Their steamed shrimp and crabs are both amazing. Every time I come.back east I make sure I go here for dinner one night during the trip as the seafood we have out in Colorado does not hold a candle to what they have in Maryland but especially here. My grandmother who passed 2.5 years ago would always say how much she missed going here and it is a shame she never had a chance to come back here after she moved with us to Colorado.“

“Skip Jack’s has become my go-to stop this year whenever I’m in Middle River. I’m an out-of-stater who likes to spend time at the little beach nearby, and this is the perfect place to grab a small bite and a refreshing drink on the way home. Their orange crushes are amazing, super fresh and flavorful. My kids loved the sampler appetizer, especially the mozzarella moons. I always go for the steamed shrimp seasoned with Old Bay and it’s absolutely delicious. They had live music during our visit which made the whole atmosphere even better. If you find yourself in Middle River, Maryland, I highly recommend stopping by Skip Jack’s.“

“Second night at Natalie’s. Came back to the bar to the same seats we sat in for our first night with our fabulous bartender Bailey! She came out to say hello and steered us to our seats after people left. She made great food and drink recommendations (along with the fabulous drinks she made including the lemonade blueberry crush, express or martini and a delicious watermelon drink). She was friendly and accommodating to all of our needs. The band was awesome and we happily sat for hours. Will definitely come back!“

“We haven't been here since it was sold. The place is beautiful! The food was excellent and our waitress, Holly was the bomb diggity!!! We had the CRAB COW BERGER and it was the best burger we ever . Moist beef and the crab cake with crab imperial was divine. The fries were cooked perfect, nice and crunchy but just as soft on the inside. They were NOT coated! Prices were very reasonable. When you get food like this, you don't mind what it costs as long as it is great. Again, ask for Holly to be your waitress. The best server we have had in a long time. Professional but down to earth and she was on top of everything. We went to celebrate our birthday's. Holly even sang when she brought our cake out! What a FANTASTIK time we had. “The atmosphere was clean and a good vibe. Our waiter was magnificent. The food however, I had steam broccoli that I couldn't bite into. The waiter took it back and brought out more but that broccoli was just chopped still the same toughness. We order a steam bowl it was season at all. The mix drinks were strong but tasteless. I order a peach drink and no hint of peach was in it at all. The water by far was the best ??“

Dawn took our order, served our order, check on us several times while dining, and finally gave us our check. Most waitress now take your order and give you your check and want a 20% tip.“

“Basta Pasta We went there for Father’s Day and Paul’s birthday on July 3rd, just Paul, Brian and me. For his birthday Paul ordered the New York Strip steak with two sides, me and Brian ordered Chicken Chesapeake. Mine and Brian’s were great, 1/2 pound of crab cake over a chicken breast with a lemon sauce, it was delicious. We ordered with red potatoes that were fabulous. Now we come to Paul’s steak. He said it was the best steak he ever had. It was thick and juicy and had a charred outer crust. He shared with us. He ordered asparagus and red potatoes with his. All was served with a big bowl of salad and bread that we shared before our entree. How was that for a review?“

“It's definitely one of the top sushi spots in Harford County. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but once you go inside, the decor and atmosphere are quite nice. They offer sushi, hibachi, and also, beer, wine, and sake. They had a 2 or 3 roll special when my wife and I dined. The special didn't include all the rolls on the menu, but it includes the majority. We ordered miso soup, seaweed salad, and a 3 roll special. We chose the Good time Roll, the Tiffany Roll, and the Mexican Roll. They were well made and delicious! Nice presentation as well. For dessert, we ordered fried ice cream. It was a tempora coated scoop of vanilla. Delicious! Service staff was great! We will be back.“

Never smiles Comes to you and look at you but don’t ask what can I get you. She waits for you to say something. Acts like she don’t want to be there. Does not know how to make mixed drinks and gets an attitude when you ask. She is bad for business. She waits on who she choose to wait on. I have heard a few people complain about her. You’re doing a fine job don’t let one bad seed ruin it. Put a ad in the paper or advertisement looking for customer oriented bartenders. She not it“

“I was out running errands and instead of going for fast food or other popular restaurants, I went to this bar because they had corned beef and cabbage on St Patrick's day which was awesome so I tried their spaghetti and meat sauce. It took a while to get waited on, food was was good. The sides they listed on menu board were extra cost and do not come with your meal which I thought was odd. They didn't have any parmesan cheese for my meal which I missed having. They have plenty of tv's to watch the O's. Pool tables,shuffleboard, several beers on tap. I will go back because I try to support local bussinesses. I think I caught them on an off day thus the reason I gave 4 stars.“

Unfortunately our app of Mozzarella Kabobs was quite small. Two skewers with 8 quarter size pieces for $12 was very over priced. Suggestion either increase the quantity of the app or please lower the price. Definitely will not order that again.“

“Had brunch there this morning and it was super yummy. The only complaint is that the bar chairs are not comfortable. I was in jeans and I was constantly sliding forward. I used my feet to push me back on and hold me there; I shouldn’t have to engage my muscles to sit in a bar chair. Other than that, it was great. Good food, good service, and good bartenders.“

When I’m getting my own mail, it’s always the two piece catfish sometimes a catfish nuggets. They legs and thighs are way better than the wings but I guess that just shows I love dark meat 😅“

“Definitely call ahead to order because they get very busy at times, especially at night. Great food for a great price I got the #6 2 pc catfish combo and fries for 8.99. the box was filled with fries on the bottom, and the catfish pieces were very big, it was almost like you were eating 4 pieces from another restaurant. The fried chicken is also pretty good too, 11.99 was how much it cost for 8 pieces and it was cooked well. Would recommend to anyone looking for a cheap but good restaurant to eat at.“
