Me and my father came here for dinner, mind you neither of us have ever been. We were told to seat ourselves and sat for a few minutes before grabbing someone attention that no one has seen us. It really wasn't that busy but I felt that the time it took for our steamed snow crabs to come out was quite long. During the waiting period we needed another round of drinks which felt like they were avoiding because they knew we were hungry. When asking to check on our food seemed like a bother she showed up with our plates.. me and my dad were low key talking about how no one was smiling or giving their best customer service. I was in the restaurant industry for a long time. A pleasant server makes the experience. All boxes were checked when our check showed up with tip already included which was never mentioned.“

“Thursday evening was my first time there. We made a reservation and were seated right away. We were there for steamed crabs. Our server immediately put our order in and brought our drinks. Our crabs came out pretty quickly. I can’t say enough about the two ladies that were serving us. They were very attentive but not to the extreme. Both were very friendly. Our crabs were excellent! Not one light crab. We will definitely go back again. If you’re looking for great food, excellent service and a very friendly atmosphere, Bird River Inn is your place to go. Their food prices are very reasonable and the portions are huge!“

“If I could give more than five stars, I definitely would. I decided to order the fish tacos with a side of macaroni and cheese and a side of green beans. The fish tacos had a nice kick of heat from the peppers added, the taco shells were crispy, and the toppings and fish were delicious. Both sides tasted homemade. I would recommend this place. I am going to make it a habit of supporting more black owned businesses.“

“The atmosphere was clean and a good vibe. Our waiter was magnificent. The food however, I had steam broccoli that I couldn't bite into. The waiter took it back and brought out more but that broccoli was just chopped still the same toughness. We order a steam bowl it was season at all. The mix drinks were strong but tasteless. I order a peach drink and no hint of peach was in it at all. The water by far was the best ??“

“We got crabcakes sent to Florida for our birthdays. Me October 6 and my Sister October 11th and had them tonight for pre hurricane dinner. They were delicious my sister got 3 tubs so we are hoping we don't lose power too long. Unfortunately we have an electric stove.“

“Service was a little slow, but no wait at 6PM for a table of 2. After that be prepared to wait. No reservations. The outside seating has wonderful sunset views, lovely for romantic atmosphere, but the place was loud. You can even pull up on a boat to dock for dinner.“

“I ordered the catfish nugget/ chicken wing combo, which came with fries. Additionally, I ordered a single piece of fish, and they generously gave me extra fries, which made me quite happy. I was a bit apprehensive since I ordered late in the day and food quality can be iffy when restaurants are closing. However, to my surprise, everything was incredibly fresh and delicious! This location really impressed me, and I'm looking forward to visiting again soon.“

Now to get to the food our food we ordered mussels and a crab cake with truffle fries and spinach The mussels came out cold so we had to send them back the spinach was bland and the crab cake was mushy but the truffle fries were excellent Eventually I put the lump crab on my fries and devoured the best truffle crab fries ?“
