“Thursday evening was my first time there. We made a reservation and were seated right away. We were there for steamed crabs. Our server immediately put our order in and brought our drinks. Our crabs came out pretty quickly. I can’t say enough about the two ladies that were serving us. They were very attentive but not to the extreme. Both were very friendly. Our crabs were excellent! Not one light crab. We will definitely go back again. If you’re looking for great food, excellent service and a very friendly atmosphere, Bird River Inn is your place to go. Their food prices are very reasonable and the portions are huge!“

“If you love a dive bar that you can boat to, this is your place. A little gem in Essex. We made the trip from Middle River for crabs last week and had a great time. Had a dozen large’s and some wings. We ate inside at the bar area since we arrived just as the sun was setting. The cook was gracious, service was great, crabs were excellent. We will absolutely return!!! Don’t expect fancy…if you go there with that in mind for anyone in your crew, you will be surprised. But, if you go with dive bar in your mind, you will be most excellently surprised and happy!“

“7-8-22 went to two guys for the 5th time tonight and I have to say everything we have ever gotten is delicious… tonight they had Kareoke so we did a smorgasboard of appetizers for the table of 3 crab dip coconut shrimp bruschetta shrimp toast onion ring tower rock fish bites it was to die for great food great service great crushes great atmosphere can’t wait to go back ?❤️??“

“I was out running errands and instead of going for fast food or other popular restaurants, I went to this bar because they had corned beef and cabbage on St Patrick's day which was awesome so I tried their spaghetti and meat sauce. It took a while to get waited on, food was was good. The sides they listed on menu board were extra cost and do not come with your meal which I thought was odd. They didn't have any parmesan cheese for my meal which I missed having. They have plenty of tv's to watch the O's. Pool tables,shuffleboard, several beers on tap. I will go back because I try to support local bussinesses. I think I caught them on an off day thus the reason I gave 4 stars.“

“I absolutely love Poplar Inn. The bartenders are all amazing, the food is great, and the crowd is fun. They do a lot to keep the customers happy and it's a great place to watch the games...Orioles, Ravens, Caps, etc. Karaoke on Sunday nights is the best; everyone always has a great time. “Awesome biker bar. Lots of ambience and Joey was an excellent bartender. And cook! Ordered some sandwiches for 4 people and a handful of beers and stuff. Food came out and was really good, and the beers were ice cold. No drafts. Would love to come back on a bike and check it out when it’s busy. The outside area has a large overhang to stay out of the sun. Pool table inside. Very classic looking biker bar. Memorial outside was very sweet.“

“Stopped in on a whim and glad we did. Really loved the atmosphere here. Friendly service and good food. We happened to stop in on wing night so $1 wings was also a great deal. Don’t recommend the tuna, wasn’t bad but in retrospect it probably wasn’t the best choice to order tuna steak at a bar. Definitely plan on stopping in again.“

The best part was our server "Ciara R", she was excellent and provided the best service to my party guest. I would definitely have another event here and would request to have Ciara again.
