Special occasions when the mood is right, we go to the ambassador for that special taste of Indian cuisine. I’ve been going to the ambassador for the last 20 years. “We come to eat at the Rosedale location maybe once a month. Even on long waits when we are extra hungry, we always request Draven because he is a rockstar! Our drinks are never empty and requests such as extra napkins, gloves, bibs etc are always met expeditiously. We never have to wait long for food and it is always fresh and hot. Our family are creatures of habit and we typically get the same thing every time. Let’s start with the clam chowder. A generous bowl with a heaping portion of clam. We especially enjoy the crackers on the side for our picky toddler to nibble on. For dinner I always get the Cajun boil with the hook n reel blend *spicy* with sausage and hard boiled eggs as an add on. I like to get a 20 oz. draft ipa. It pairs very well with the spiciness of the boil. Our toddler usually ends up with tenders and sweet potato waffle fries. Recently she has started to eat broccoli (hallelujah!) so we get that on the side as well. For a family of 3, we spend around $130. If you request Draven, please expect to be amazed by the service and expect to tip at LEAST 20% for impeccable service. For those bad at math, 20% of $130 is $26, which I like to bump up to $30. Sorry this was so long! If you got this far, enjoy your dinner at Hook n Reel in Rosedale. We always do!“

“Our table was not ready though our server motioned us to sit down while an extra table was added. No apologies, just: sit down, like we were inconveniencing her! Her attitude was approaching on rude. Orders were taken without comment, just looks. Soups were spilled onto saucers,no apologies. Coffee was served twice without spoons, containers were brought while people were still eating, same with bill. Everything was rushed, without a smile or occasional: can I get you anything or is everything ok? And why as a fine restaurant are you serving salad dressing in cheap plastic containers???“

“We searched for a Jamaican spot to get some food and when I tell you they did not disappoint. The food was good on the second day as well. We traveled 3 hours back home with half of our meals and the flavor was worthy of slapping someone mama not mine though. My grandprincess enjoyed her honey bbq wings and gave them the thumbs up.“

“Ordered off of their catering menu for my wife's birthday. I purchased the Margharita Seafood Special with shrimp, scallops and lump crabmeat in a rose' cream sauce and it was excellent! The homemade meatballs jad everybody raving and their sausage, onions and peppers in marinara sauce was also great. Thankfully we had some left overs that we are still enjoying. Lastly was their Greek salad, very fresh and loaded with feta cheese. I definitely recommend these folks for your next lunch or dinner or when you need an event catered. “The cutest little crab house! I am not usually a fan of crabs because of the work you have to do to get the meat out but these crabs were HUGE fresh and hot! We got there early and was seated right away but I suggest making a reservation because they fill quickly and usually already have tables filled. Im so happy we ate here I can't wait to go back!“

“What can I say, if you’re going to spend a bill plus in crabs, this was the best way to do it. My mom and I tried this place, it was our first time. We ordered a dozen male XL. We got exactly that. “We went to dinner here this evening with a large party of 10. While we enjoyed our food and our server was great our overall experience was not 🤦🏼‍♀️. I don’t know if we just had an evening of bad luck or what. First after sitting there a bit a VERY large picture fell off of the wall directly onto me and my 18 month old daughter, then there was a gnat in our drink, and my dad walked outside and a piece of shingle fell off and hit him in the head. Like, I seriously couldn’t make this up. 🤣 like I said food was good and so was our waiter but I feel like a little more could have been done after the picture situation. A cupcake and free drink didn’t really cut it. Had it just fallen on me I wouldn’t have been so upset but the fact that it fell on my daughter made my soul leave my body. We will give it another shot at some point and chock tonight up to the full moon or something just be careful where you sit your kiddos.“

“Something Magical about this place! Crabs are very heavy and reasonably priced. My "fav"is Snow Crab Legs and that golden steamed corn on cobb. Staff members, always smiling, very knowledgeable about their product; each one seems very happy to have his/her job, so courteous. BLAKE'S is the Best in Baltimore!“

“Topside offers a fantastic rooftop setting with stunning city views. The food was excellent overall; the chicken and waffles were a standout, offering a wonderful balance of flavors. My husband enjoyed his quiche, though he felt the crustless vegetable dish could have been cooked a little longer. Despite that minor note, we both thoroughly enjoyed our meals. I also brought home a bacon jalapeño scone, which made for a delightful afternoon treat. I highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for a great dining experience.“

I’m usually hesitant about seafood restaurants because there aren’t always many non-seafood options, but this place completely surprised me. Everything was flavorful, fresh, and cooked perfectly.
