“Phillip was our server and he was excellent attending to our dinner questions and providing great answers to help us make our decisions. While it was New Years Eve you couldn't tell it from inside. The hostess honored our request for a better view. Overall it made for a good experience.“

“Came here for dinner recently Monday night—got seated right away, restaurant was fairly empty. Service was great—our server was attentive and very helpful recommending his top favorite dishes. Food was delicious—started off with Maryland Style Spinach and Artichoke Dip, with lots of jumbo lump crab meat. We got the Reuben, Atlantic Blackened Salmon & Shrimp and Grits—all well flavored dishes and huge portions. Cocktails were good too and reasonable price.

“The burger was excellent—definitely the highlight of the meal. Everything else was solid and okay overall. The biggest issue was the service. Only one staff member was handling both the tables and the bar for the entire restaurant, so things moved really slowly. Despite that, they were friendly and doing their best under the circumstances. With better staffing, this place could be fantastic.“

“The Haymaker is a great cocktail bar and has some of the best and hardest working bartenders in DC. When we arrived, the bar counter seats were almost full. Three cocktails in and the whole place was packed with 90/95% having cocktails, our refills still came quickly. Why only 4 star? They have changed the food menu and not for the better. The dumplings are still great. We also had the quesadilla. My wife liked it, I thought it was generic. We both thought the loaded tots were a major fail, the 'load', what little there was of it, had all fallen off and was in the bottom of the bowl. The draft beer choice is also weak, with Goose Island being their premium beer. I hope they change up their menu for the better.“

From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was lively and welcoming. The food was absolutely delicious—everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. But what really made the night stand out was the exceptional service.
Kristina, the bartender, was fantastic. She was friendly, attentive, and clearly passionate about what she does. Her drinoks were perfectly crafted, and she made everyone at the bar feel like a regular.
To make the evening even better, a talented saxophonist played throughout the night, adding a smooth, soulful vibe that elevated the entire dining experience. 🎶
What truly impressed me was the level of hospitality. The owner even stopped by and personally helped with my request to switch the TV to tennis, which I really appreciated. That kind of personal attention shows how much they care about their guests.

“We came here for lunch and had a hard time finding street parking near by. I had the French onion soup which was decent but my chicken Cobb salad was extremely salty. The saltiness ruined a perfect good salad. My husband ordered a burger which was OK, not spectacular and so was the coleslaw. The waitress was nice and paid attention.“

“We came from out of state (NC) and just happened to Google bars around and this popped up. Hands down the best time we had. Luke, the bartender, was funny and amazing. We ended up going back the next day just to see him before we left town. Definitely will be back!“

“First time here and I was pleasantly surprised. The drinks were good, strong and inexpensive. The food was even better. Definitely a favourite of mine when I want a good drink and some food with it. I had the pork chop sandwich with fries and it was good. Seasoned and fried just right. Definitely two thumbs up for me. The staff were quick and attentive which was really good since the place was a bit crowded. Easy to get too ... right off of 210. Check it out if you haven't.“

“Really fun place right at the marina on JBAB. Great wings and the other food is good, too. The staff is nice, but they don't have a lot of staff, so it's up to you to go get what you want.

“I went at noon and it was not crowded at all, and it was quiet, a big bonus for me these days. No loud music and people shouting in order to converse over it. The food was very good, very fresh. I highly recommend this restaurant for Asian fusion cuisine and sushi.“

“A great place to meet friends for drinks to pre-game or a night out. Depending on the night you maybe able to catch an open bar or drinks specials. Some nights they also have a DJ that plays various genres of music. Bar staff is friendly and place also has a neighborhood feel.“
