“Service:
We came to Island Pride casually for lunch around 4 p.m. on a Saturday. It wasn’t packed, and we were served pretty quickly. The menu had plenty of options, and the food looked freshly cooked.

Taste:
We ordered a large jerk chicken and a small curry goat, both with rice and peas, cabbage, and a roti, along with a coco bread. Everything was flavorful and tasted authentic. The two ginger lemon drinks we got were also refreshing and paired well with the meal.

Ambiance:
We dined in and enjoyed the Jamaican music playing on the TV, which added to the island vibe. The restaurant was clean and comfortable, and the bathrooms were well maintained.

Overall Review:
We paid around $60 for everything, which felt reasonable for the quality and portion sizes. Island Pride is a great spot for hearty, authentic Jamaican food in a relaxed setting. I’d definitely come back or order from them again.“

“Hands down best island food I've ever had. Whether eating there or getting carry out, every plate is stacked and every container is stuffed. Their plantains are out of this world. Large beer and regular beverage selection. Highly recommend.“

“The food is absolutely delicious!!!! I’ve been there two times , the service is awesome. I ordered the escovitch snapper both times , exceptionally good, curry goat was scrumptious. “This place is absolutely amazing! The food is incredibly delicious. I visited for the first time today and was welcomed with warm, friendly service. Everyone was in great spirits, and the atmosphere felt really positive.

When I mentioned it was my first time, they kindly offered me a sample of curry chicken, brown stew, and oxtail over rice. Each one was full of flavor — so good that I had a hard time choosing!

I ended up ordering the brown stew chicken with rice, cabbage, and a side of plantains. Everything was cooked to perfection. The chicken was juicy, tender, and full of flavor. The plantains were fresh off the stove — perfectly sweet and soft.

“I've eaten here a couple of times now, and I highly recommend it. I actually didn't go there with particularly high expectations, but I was so pleasantly surprised. They have several vegan dishes and everything I tried was delicious. While the ambiance is a bit underwhelming, it is honestly so nice to eat someplace where no one has to shout to be heard. “Drove from Germantown to this restaurant and I was not disappointed. As soon as I pulled up and saw how the building looked, I knew the food was going to be bussing. I got the oxtail platter n it was so good. My son also said the jerk Mac and cheese was good. Customer service was also great 10/10“

“I love this place. I tried the oxtail mac & cheese.
Everything was cooked to perfection as well as the Oreo waffles and their grits and lamb chops.
Their brunch experience is very nice and there's parking in the area. I highly recommend you try out their brunch. They also have a cool mimosa tower. I couldn't pick a favorite food option!

“Jamaica Mi Crazy was my go to for Thanksgiving dinner 2022. The food was amazing! My choices included ox tails, peas and rice, turkey, cabbage etc. The meat was succulent and seasoned to perfection, just the right level of spice. My table was gorgeous and my guests loved the meal.The service and attention to detail with my order was on point and the chef was definitely to be complimented. I've recommended the restaurant to friends in Frederick, Loudon County and Fairfax County. I am looking forward to the same service and outstanding food this year!“
