Wonderful , the first time I had Korean bbq in Maryland, extremely happy 😃
The definition of quality over quantity. The authenticity is top notch, with a variety of Korean dishes to choose from.
That said, meats are a la cart, and combos are between $35 to $45 for the equivalent of 2 orders from an all you can eat.
One of the better (and authentic) Korean restaurants in the Rockville area. Usually quiet when I've eaten in there, and overall clean and friendly, with decent BBQ and good regular dishes.
There are a lot of good korean restaurants in Annandale, but worth hwa gae Jang is worth a trip, if making that trek out to virginia is too far away.

Hwa Gae Jang Tuh (HGJT) is described as one of the better and authentic Korean restaurants in the Rockville area, also worth a trip from Annandale, Virginia. The restaurant offers decent BBQ and good regular dishes. Reviewers praise the delicious food and hospitable service, noting that everything tasted balanced with umami, sweet, and salty flavors, not overly sweet as some other Korean restaurants have become. Serving sizes are generous, and food comes out fast.
The restaurant provides a variety of complimentary appetizers and offers amazing rooms for parties. It is considered a go-to spot for an authentic K-BBQ experience, with fresh beef brisket (chadol-bagi) and pork belly (samgyeopsal) highlighted. Specific dishes like Galbi, Jumulleok, and Kimchi Jigae were all recommended as delicious. For those who enjoy unique flavors, boyang tang (goat soup) is mentioned as a dish that helps awaken the senses. While some workers may not know English well, the food is described as super good and authentic, offering a real Korean/Chinese cuisine experience. Weekends are noted as the busiest times.
