“Cakes Plus provided a wonderful cake for my son's wedding several years ago, so my son recommended the bakery when I wanted to purchase a cake for my grandson's 30th birthday. I knew the words I wanted written on the cake, but didn't have a design in mind. Many, many thanks to Hannah for her patience and for helping me nail the perfect design!! Everyone loved the vanilla sheet cake. (See picture.) It was beautiful and delicious. Then, when I went to pickup the vanilla sheet cake, on a whim, I decided to also purchase a smaller, off the shelf, lemon cake with a balloon design. People who tried both cakes at the birthday events said both were amazing, but they loved the taste of the lemon cake more than the vanilla. I wish we weren't limited to rating this bakery 5 stars! Stop in Stoltzfus Bakery at the Dutch Market in Laurel Md. Old fashioned Baked items of all kinds, at a great Market, Twenty minutes from B’More and DC, just a couple miles from 295 or 95 making it the easiest Md Farmers Market to get in and out of. On 198 across from the Laurel Horse Races. Talk to authentic Amish owners, Ben or Ike while you’re there. Cakes ,Pies, Quiches, Cupcakes ,Loaves, Cookies, Muffins, Whoopies, Fry Pies, Fresh Doughnuts, Custom cake decorating upon request and much much more. Plenty of parking and refreshments.“

“I recently read an article that said the best bakery in Maryland is Ovenbird. They are wrong. IT IS THIS PLACE. Fantastic bakery -- the croissants are fabulous. If I had to critique the place it would be they need a 2nd barista, or a cheap intercom system. The tiny place only holds 6 people (and a dog!) and 5 of those are standing around waiting for their coffee.“

“We came to this location to try the Cinnabons at Cinnaholic for the first time. The location is great, right off of 301 but the parking is terrible. The store is clean and a good size to have a quick bite in. There were 2 young ladies working in the store. They were friendly and knowledgeable. I got the apple pie topping on my Cinnabon. They delivered it hot and it was very tasty. The inner part of the bun is slightly doughy which maybe by design. The taste is very similar to there leading competitor. What I will say is the owner was there and she appears to be a micromanager. Instead of greeting customers and explaining the extended period of time we had to wait for our food in a very quiet store, or helping her workers out with task, she leaned on the back counter and watched the employees work. I don’t think the franchise training in leadership or customer service was effective in her case.“

I was looking for a bakery that could provide specialty cupcakes for a prom but didn't realize how challenging the request would be. The cupcakes were much larger than I expected (more like muffins). My guests enjoyed the icing but found it difficult to eat the entire muffin. The presentation was also a bit disappointing but served its purpose. Our restaurant has been a client of American Hearth Bakery for many years, however, in the past couple of years, the bakery had many issues with the product's quality and services. We are happy now that all the issues were resolved with the new ownership. Fresh bagels and pastries are delivered on time and the owners are super nice and helpful. “Fantastic experience! Came here for lunch and ordered the London Broil sandwich and the Italian Picante, as well as a whole baguette, the tomato saffron soup, and a brownie.

The London broil was very juicy and tasty! The Italian was also very flavorful with slight spice. Pricing was very good for the quality of the food, the Italian was around $10 and the London broil around $12.

The baguette was so fresh and delicious!

“Lydianne's Soft Pretzels is to die for!

I am not a huge pretzel fan but for these pretzels I could eat them every day!
The dough is freshly made, soft. The breading is a bit sweeter than you would typically taste in the average pretzel. They have a variety of ways that you can have your pretzel. Breakfast themed logs in the morning with bacon, sausage, eggs, etc inside. Some sweet options like cinnamon and some savory.

They also have lemonade and tea to drink.

The service is quick. There is barely any wait in between ordering and receiving your items.

As soon as you walk into the Dutch market they will be the first vendor to the right.
