“Wonderful restaurant! The owner is so kind and the sushi is amazing! They do salmon belly in the Baltimore Roll, which I've never had before but I will crave it every time I come home to Maryland! Great rolls and great other stuff too!!!“

Nestled in the heart of Ellicott City, this gem of a restaurant offers an impeccable blend of traditional Japanese cuisine and warm hospitality.Upon entering, we were greeted by a cozy ambiance, with the inviting aroma of freshly prepared sushi lingering in the air. The staff was exceptionally friendly, making us feel right at home from the moment we stepped through the door. For our meal, we opted for the Sushi and Roll Set along with a serving of Karaage. The sushi surpassed all expectations, with each piece bursting with flavor and boasting a freshness that can only be found in the finest establishments. The rice was perfectly seasoned, and the fish melted in our mouths, a testament to the chef's dedication to quality. The Karaage, a personal favorite of mine, was an absolute delight. The chicken was fried to golden perfection, boasting a satisfying crispiness with every bite. It was evident that great care had been taken in the preparation, resulting in a dish that left us craving for more.Throughout our dining experience, the servers were attentive and knowledgeable, providing excellent recommendations and ensuring that our needs were met with promptness and professionalism. In conclusion, if you find yourself in the Ellicott City area, do yourself a favor and pay a visit to Oya Sushi. “Fantastic new addition to the area. More of a take out styled business but they do have a few tables to sit. Inside is always clean. Friendly staff / owner? He is always nice. Ive gotten the chicken teriyaki bento and it is a hit every time. Their sushi is very good!! Clean and light, if you will. Will definitely try more of the menu in the future. Highly recommended for hibachi and sushi!“
“We were the only customers when we went on a Tuesday about 7. But the owners were wonderful at helping us with their recommendations on the menu. We settled on a few sushi rolls and bulgogi with Tera beers all around. The sushi was fresh and delicious. The bulgogi was definitely a top cut of beef in a spectacular sauce. The portions are huge and the prices are reasonable. Please patronize this place.“
“Always fresh and great rolls. I usually order ahead and my orders are ready as soon as I show up. Ordered rolls on dozens of occasions. Never had an issue.Parking: Always plenty of parking. Easy to grab and go.Kid-friendliness: Plenty of options and the team will modify any roll and make custom rolls for my kids.Wheelchair accessibility: Easy in and out once you get onto the sidewalk from the street.“
“We were searching for a late dinner place on a Friday night and saw this new Korean BBQ soft opening and decided to try it. We were so delighted with the food, the service and the kindness they showed us even though it was already late and almost closing time! Our waiter, Chris, was very kind and attentive to our table and continued to offer more Banchans whenever we would eat up any of those delicious side dishes. We ordered the combination which already included beef and pork cuts, so we got to taste both meats. One very unique and new for us in a Korean BBQ place is the green sauce. Whatever it is, it was delicious, a little spicy but very good. Chris also offered to bring us the traditional sesame oil sauce which is a must! He also offered more lettuce every time we would eat up the bunch. I really appreciate that they did not even rush us, even though it was very late. Definitely going to be one of my new favorite places for a family dinner! I do have one suggestion to the management: change the cut of the pork belly into thinner slices. Pork needs to be cook more well done than beef, especially pork belly. The thick slices take too long to cook on the inside. Anyways, we are definitely coming back here!“
“Went here on a Friday night. Jason was a great server and recommend me the cucumber mule which was refreshing as well as fatty tuna sushi roll which was so good. My cousin got the Pad Thai which is her favorite. I hope to be a regular here the food is so good and the place is very pretty and clean.“
“Just want local folks of Ellicott City to know that Niko’s is open for carryout/takeout. We celebrated my birthday by getting sushi and meals from Nikos. As usual their sushi is fantastic with an outstanding what I call fish to rice ratio. Please support your local restaurants. Thank you“
“Paper Lantern (Marriottsville Rd) is our go-to take out sushi. It never disappoints and it’s not overly priced. We love their spicy tuna and shrimp tempura rolls! They even make a chicken tempura roll that my son loves- gotta get them to eat sushi one way or another, right?“
“Your experience will vary based on what you order. I liked the Peking duck and crab rangoon here. The duck was quite fresh and the skin was crispy. There were a lot of pancakes (probably not the right name) but we still had to ask for more because there were a lot of duck! The crab rangoon was sweet and crispy. It tastes pretty unique actually. I highly recommend both dishes. We also ordered fried lotus roots with some vege but they were out of most vege as we went there quite late at night. It tasted quite good but also a good amount of spice. I have a feeling that most of the other dishes will taste good too.The decor is quite okay. Imagine an up-scale Chinese restaurant with rich owners. It's too far of a drive for me to frequent this place but if I'm ever in the area, I'd eat here again.“
“I love this location it’s so much more attentive in service as well as friendly even with being short staffed you wouldn’t have even known it was short staffed. Erica have ur waitress was the most amazing waitress ever! I highly recommend her!“
“If you ever find your way to J and Y, you have now found the hidden gem of sushi out in the county. This sushi has no business being THIS GOOD. The service is quick and you will frequently get a free appetizer roll while you wait for your order (: I'm serious, they're amazing. There is dine in and carry out - the dining room isn't huge but it's nice enough inside to enjoy with friends and family. I genuinely can't write nice enough things about this Eldersburg treasure. My husband and I will still drive here from the city where we now live because it's so good and well priced. ILYJnY“
