“Wow, after everything I have heard and the awards this place has received, I had high expectations. My TLDR is that some of those expectations were met, others were not.

I have been wanting to try Dogon for a while, my boyfriend finally got a res for my birthday dinner. The food was great, some of it was excellent (Ben’s Bowl, ugh that sauce!!), our server was helpful and met expectations, but I cannot look past feeling rushed during my dining experience with Dogon. Especially when the booking says to plan to be there for at least 2 hours, reservations are so hard to get, and the staff KNEW we were there to enjoy an occasion. Plates were being cleared while we were not done with dishes, or we still had food in our mouths. We felt rushed eating, we felt rushed to place an order, and pressured to order everything for the table at once. We were going to order a bottle of wine, but we felt there would not be enough time to enjoy it. In total we were in and out of the restaurant in an hour and 15 minutes for a full birthday dinner. I want to make crystal clear that our server was great, and this issue isn’t on one person. It is on the service team and their communication with the kitchen.

My dad was the head chef at one of the most popular restaurants in NYC for a long time, I know what is a reasonable expectation of a high volume, high end restaurant, and what isn’t. Pacing is something the restaurant is in full control of. Dogon should look into improving here. Even with this issue, I would still go back to try more of the menu.“

“Had a chance to eat at the Dupont Circle restaurant. The food was excellent. The portion was more than enough and the price for three people was very reasonable. I appreciate the staff and the recommendations that they had in terms of the different proteins and vegetables that were being offered. I decided to go with the jerk chicken bowl. The dish was one of the best jerk bowls that I’ve ever eaten.“

“This place was recommended and I am so glad we tried it. Healthy food. So many options. I ordered the Jerk Mango Salad. I didn’t change a thing and wouldn’t. Perfect kick without being too spicy. Mango salsa was the best I’ve had. We also ordered the BBQ bowl. I wouldn’t change a thing in it. Try the Red Rice. It’s really good. Staff was quick, explained the menu and ordering process and also offered a taste of you weren’t sure you’d like something. 10/10. I’ll be back again.“

“This place is great and fast and the barbecue rib, beef is the best! The no fat and best meat and the most seasoned. I don’t like pork ribs and they offer beef ribs. The best quality too! Grateful for the money spent, I have come back multiple times for it!“

“The food here was above and beyond what I expected. Not that I thought it wouldn’t be good. Just didn’t expect the explosion of flavors from each dish I tried. I had the doubles and goat rice platter. I’ve never had doubles and curried goat with so much spice and depth of flavor before. Highly recommend this restaurant. The curry is amazing. Will definitely be back. Service is a little slow but they are a new restaurant so they gotta work out the kinks. Again, highly recommend.“

“I recently hire the Yaya’s food truck for a birthday event that I was having at my home. From the first inquiry, the customer service was excellent. Next, they also offer food tastings to ensure the flavor (salt, spice) is to your liking. The day of the event, they showed up before the scheduled time to ensure they meet the expectations of the contract. Additionally, I don’t order enough rice for my guest and they were generous enough to make more rice instead of telling my guest that no more rice was available. I definitely recommend Yaya’s Trini Food Truck.“

“I got the chance to visit dat jerk with my father recently. I gave him the option going to silver diner or dat jerk. It took a sec for us to get our bearings but we were overall pleased with the options we ordered. The restaurant was very clean and had large portions of food which I believe matched the cost of food. I loved the roti. The wrap itself complimented the flavors inside. I opted to get the sauce on the side which was not the play since it wasn’t enough. Definitely won’t make that mistake again. They had a friendly staff that helped to guide us through the menu. I definitely look forward to going back.“

“Got some grub at the Eastern Market from their stand. They gave me a massive portion of goat meat and Jamaican jerk chicken, rice, and macaroni and cheese. Everything is delicious and they were so friendly! Standing out in the rain to serve people. Recommend!“

“If my husband could eat here every day he would as a native jamaican born in the county im just glad that he has something he could eat today he was suppose to go for the liver came home with smoke jerk pork escovich fish and the liver ate that and then said we going back for dinner lol he said today they were having a fish fry so might go back for more fish and liver. “I’ve been going to Caribbean Superior since 2016. I’m a regular for their breakfast, patties, and soups. The food quality has remained solid. However their portion sizes are not consistent (and far as protein goes) and have become significantly smaller since May. It’s either raise the prices or make the portions smaller, but doing both is a little crazy and it makes it difficult to continue to be a patron here.“
