“Wow! We ordered carryout from Ellie’s Tavern and were absolutely blown away. The food was incredible — huge portions, hand-cut fries, house-made blue cheese, and perfectly hand-breaded chicken tenders. The Crab Rangoon dip and Buffalo Cauliflower were outstanding. “Our table was not ready though our server motioned us to sit down while an extra table was added. No apologies, just: sit down, like we were inconveniencing her! Her attitude was approaching on rude. Orders were taken without comment, just looks. Soups were spilled onto saucers,no apologies. Coffee was served twice without spoons, containers were brought while people were still eating, same with bill. Everything was rushed, without a smile or occasional: can I get you anything or is everything ok? And why as a fine restaurant are you serving salad dressing in cheap plastic containers???“

“We went to dinner here this evening with a large party of 10. While we enjoyed our food and our server was great our overall experience was not 🤦🏼‍♀️. I don’t know if we just had an evening of bad luck or what. First after sitting there a bit a VERY large picture fell off of the wall directly onto me and my 18 month old daughter, then there was a gnat in our drink, and my dad walked outside and a piece of shingle fell off and hit him in the head. Like, I seriously couldn’t make this up. 🤣 like I said food was good and so was our waiter but I feel like a little more could have been done after the picture situation. A cupcake and free drink didn’t really cut it. Had it just fallen on me I wouldn’t have been so upset but the fact that it fell on my daughter made my soul leave my body. We will give it another shot at some point and chock tonight up to the full moon or something just be careful where you sit your kiddos.“

The broth is rich, fresh, and perfectly balanced — not spicy at all, just right. The meat is without any fat or tough veins, and that is extremely important to me. It tastes very fresh, not like deep-frozen meat, and it’s incredibly soft and tender.
The soup is simply excellent. I actually hunt for authentic Mexican soups like this! I’m a truck driver, and most of the food I come across on the road is terrible… but this place is a big exception.

“If you love a dive bar that you can boat to, this is your place. A little gem in Essex. We made the trip from Middle River for crabs last week and had a great time. Had a dozen large’s and some wings. We ate inside at the bar area since we arrived just as the sun was setting. The cook was gracious, service was great, crabs were excellent. We will absolutely return!!! Don’t expect fancy…if you go there with that in mind for anyone in your crew, you will be surprised. But, if you go with dive bar in your mind, you will be most excellently surprised and happy!“

“The Worthington is an awesome bar in Canton square, we will for sure be coming back. Not only was the food and drinks really good but so was our service by our bartender Leo!

Leo was an outstanding bartender he was welcoming, attentive, and clearly passionate about what he does! He did a great job at explaining the many drinks they had and offering his advice on if we would like them or not. Because of his recommendations we tried our first espresso martini (highly recommend) he also made great food recommendations. We ended getting the fondue Burger and the Buffalo wings, the fondue burger I highly recommend! The wings were also good. After eating here and having drinks we will for sure be coming back
What really stood out above the food and drinks was Leo’s friendly personality and attention to detail during our lunch at the Worthington. It is hard to find a bartender who actually cares about the patrons these days but Leo made sure to be vested in the conversation you were having with him and even if something pulled him away from the conversation we were having he made sure to comeback and pick it back up where we left off!“

“I just wanted to say what an awesome experience Barracudas and Billy provided for my family. We held a surprise 90th birthday party for my Mom there on Saturday and it was perfect. The food was delicious as usual and the service was phenomenal. Abby did a great job taking care of us. Big shout out to the kitchen staff and everyone else who assisted in making my Mom feel loved and appreciated. I live 2 hours from the restaurant, but I make it a point to stop in almost everytime for food and drinks. Everyone has their own opinion concerning the restaurant and staff. In 10 years I have never had a bad experience here or seen anything out of the ordinary reacting to the staff or ownership. I have seen intoxicated patrons but that's it.
