This is one of my families favorite restaurants in the area. We went out to dinner last night and Lindsey was our waitress... she was awesome. The atmosphere is nice - very cozy. The food was amazing! The other night - I started with a house salad, moved on to a haddock dish perfectly cooked with some parmesan with broccoli and mashed potato as sides. It was perfection! Then I finished with an apple tart and some ice cream... it couldn't have been any better!“

Perfectly cooked - we joked with the bartender, Tiffany, and said they should be called chicken hands because they are HUGE! Service was exceptional and very welcoming. “we make it a point to stop at this restaurant every year when we visit Maine. We learned this year that in November 2023 they had a fire at the restaurant. Since then the restaurant has been renovated, including a new head chef and a new name “Harpswell Schoolhouse”. Most of the staff is the same, professional and extremely detail oriented. The food was fabulous, excelling the great dishes of years past. The service is in the European style, that is to say it is not hurried. We highly recommend this upscale restaurant, it’s a gem!“

From the moment we arrived, the magnificent harbor view beckoned us to sit in a big ol’ rocking chair on the Inn’s lovely porch, cocktail in hand & relax completely into the moment. Oh & sunsets? Outstanding! Our first moments at Grey Havens were so warm & welcoming. Actually even before arriving, calls with innkeepers, Ali & Carlos, had us beyond excited for our initial stay. I say initial because of course we definitely will return & soon I hope! I could list endlessly all the delightful elements that the Grey Havens team have combined to create a place in which one can truly & gloriously unwind. From the lovely & cozy guest rooms to the gorgeous bay-windowed common room (with its stunning actual bay-view) the vibe is marvelous. Grey Havens feels quintessentially seaside Maine with just the barest but perfect touch of some lovingly placed & demure whimsy to intrigue a curious eye. Our initial stay dates did not overlap with Blue’s calendar, sadly. However the many tales we heard of Chef Esau’s creations have us drooling in anticipation. We will ensure we enjoy a dinner at Blue upon our return to Grey Havens.“

“I went to Peppers Landing at 11:30 for lunch and ordered the Brunswick lobster roll. The roll was tough and dry and I asked the server when this was cooked. They could only tell me it's reheated on the grill. This was The worst lobster roll I have ever had. The restaurant manager was gracious enough to give me a whopping $5 discount for the food. This meal was 30.00 including fries and Cole slaw. I will never go back.“
