“Stopped in here for breakfast while staying in the area to visit the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens. The seating area in this restaurant is rather small, and the benches and tables appear to be hardwood, homemade from many years ago. Don't expect a world of comfort in your seating, but do expect some great food with a few interesting choices. It looks like the present owners have only had the restaurant for a limited period of time and are still getting organized. Besides the regular breakfast selections there are a few south of the border options. If you have difficulty managing stairs, this may not be the place for you as there are several steps to enter in the front. Also, be prepared to wait if you arrive after the crowd has already been seated. Having said that the staff was very attentive; prices were reasonable; food was served quickly; and the quality was quite good. This is definitely a place worth checking out for a good quality breakfast.“

Thistle Inn Restaurant American • $$$
55 Oak St, Boothbay Harbor

“Oh, honey, let me spill the tea on our divine night at Thistle in Boothbay Harbor. Picture this: seven fabulous souls, anointed by the gastronomic god himself, gathered for a soirée of epicurean ecstasy.Enter Kourtnee, our server extraordinaire. Move over, mere mortals – Kourtnee's finesse elevated our dining escapade to a celestial level. The culinary symphony commenced with a rack of lamb so unctuous, it had us questioning if we were still on Earth. Seared scallops to die for? More like a succulent serenade to the taste buds. The filet, darling, strutted onto our plates with such swagger, even wagyu blushed in inadequacy. And the salmon? Fresh as a sea breeze, it practically swam onto our plates straight from Poseidon's backyard.Let's talk libations – the Thistle, a bourbon concoction so marvelous, it's practically a potion of perfection. The blueberry mojito? Sipping it was like lounging on a beach in Maine, sand between our toes, and waves of flavor crashing over us. As for the grasshopper, it waltzed with our creme brulee in a dance of dessert divinity.Thistle, you're not a restaurant; you're a culinary wizard's secret lair. Kourtnee, you're the culinary sorceress who made our evening spellbinding. Critics, take notes – Thistle doesn't just serve food; it orchestrates an opulent ode to indulgence. Bravo, Thistle, bravo! ?“

Linekin Bay Resort American • $$
92 Wall Point Rd, Boothbay Harbor

“Great resort. The plentiful watercraft/sailboats are in good shape, no waiting around to get access and there are knowledgeable and friendly staff (and they are waiting to help you, no searching for someone to help). Kids activities were more abundant than I realized, with a full game room with foosball, ping pong, table shuffleboard and board games with tables to play them. You can view the bay right from inside the pool. Trivia night was a blast by the wood fire place. Overall an excellent time that surpassed our expectations.Walkability: Nice amount of grounds, but easily traversable.“

“Stopped in Booth Bay specifically for a soft shell lobster dinner. I was not disappointed! The lobster was a full pound and a half and full of meat! Mo tools were required to separate the shell from the meat. My wife ordered the scallop dinner and she was not disappointed. We will be back!“

Tugboat Inn American • $$
80 Commercial St, Boothbay Harbor

“We loved our stay in Boothbay Harbor. Our room at the Tugboat Inn was perfect-- in our budget, clean, and a beautiful location to spend a night. We stayed in room 108. Our mini fridge was very loud so we had to unplug it for the night, and the noise from other rooms was a little loud when we were putting our young kid to bed, but other than that we even liked the early alarm clock of the lobster boats firing up and heading out for a day of fishing. The restaurant was great and we can't wait to make this an annual trip for our family!“

Salty Stag Restaurant Family • $$
Spruce point inn, 88 Grandview Ave, Boothbay Harbor

“We had breakfast and 3 dinners during our 3-night stay at the Spruce Point Inn. The food was and service were so good that we didn't have to look elsewhere for our meals. For our dinners we had the vegetarian bolognese, pork chops, littleneck clams (super yummy broth!), calamari, salmon, salad, crab cake, and for breakfast, the lobster eggs benedict was so good. Very enjoyable atmosphere, beautiful view of the spectacular sunsets from the dining room there. Couldn't ask for more, and it was just across the grand deck from our cottage, so convenient.“
