“When we are in town, we always go to J R Maxwells. Been coming here for 31 years and this used to be our favorite place and still is in Bath Maine. Was always a date night for us 31 years ago now we go because we love the atmosphere, the decor and the food.“

“East Coast Clam Strips? I was a bit skeptical having "clam strips" that weren't "razor clams".
The Clam Strips here aren't razor clams, but were DELICIOUS!
Tender, flavorful........AWESOME!
Came back the next night for the "crabby lobster roll".........another great meal.
Thanks for the tasty meals!“

“This is probably one of the best restaurants on the eastern seaboard. Great food, great atmosphere, great service. Went twice while on vacation as once was not enough! Definitely recommend!!“
“Been going to Maine for years but we only discovered the Clam Hunter 3 years ago. They have the best hard shell clams and steamers of anyone Down East. Don't make our mistake...go there now!“

“Definitely a Maine place--good, fresh seafood perfectly prepared. The crab Rangoon is fabulous, and these folk know how to prepare scallops. And since one of the owners is a scallop diver, the scallops are as fresh as you can get them. The salads are fresh, too. Lots of variety for a small operation. One of my favorite local places.“

“Wonderful, fresh seafood, fried perfectly. We get the Jumbo Mixed Sea (fisherman's platter) and split it. It's a huge mound of clams, scollops, shrimp, fish, fries=onion rings, and comes with a buttered roll and big dish of really yummy coleslaw. It's not outrageously expensive either -reasonable.“

“Food was good I give it a 7.5/10. Lobster roll was good but about $38 plus tax.“

“I went to Peppers Landing at 11:30 for lunch and ordered the Brunswick lobster roll. The roll was tough and dry and I asked the server when this was cooked. They could only tell me it's reheated on the grill. This was The worst lobster roll I have ever had. The restaurant manager was gracious enough to give me a whopping $5 discount for the food. This meal was 30.00 including fries and Cole slaw. I will never go back.“
“Lovely location, lovely people……..and the sun’s out!! 😍“
“Great selection of very fresh fish. Can't beat the prices or service, and the location is just a minute off Route 1 between Ath and Brunswick.“

“My grad school friends and I are in town for a reunion and they were all raving about the $20 lobster rolls having gone to multiple other places for lobster around Harpswell. Unanimously they seemed to agree on the lobster rolls and clam cakes.I decided to get the chicken tender basket. Overall, the price is a bit steep for 3-4 chicken tenders and some fries at $15 (I added a can of Pepsi ($2) and upgraded the regular fries to sweet potato fries ($1) so my total ended up being $18 for what in most places is like $10. Still, the chicken was tender and the fries weren’t bad. I did order the honey mustard to dip the chicken in but it tasted less like honey mustard and more like honey mustard.Overall it was decent, just a bit pricy. It is a shack on the side of the road with approximately 4-5 picnic tables for seating and I believe no bathrooms although I’m not sure since I didn’t have to use one.
Parking: There’s a very small section of land dedicated to parking, but it’s just a roadside shack so it has limited parking.“

“My husband and I were on vacation and wanted to try oysters for the first time. It was amazing! The staff was wonderful and told us what we needed to know about having oysters and described the difference between the oysters they had. The whole experience was the perfect way to end our stay in Bath.“
