This was a very enjoyable experience for lunch yesterday with my brother & sister in law. There was room to park easily, the waitress was quick & attentive, the food was excellent & the prices very reasonable. We were right next to the harbor & enjoyable looking at all the boats. Will be back!
My husband and I selected the Whale's Tale for dinner on a Saturday in mid-May. The restaurant was quiet and not crowded when we arrived in early evening. We enjoyed the food (I especially loved the Tuna Poke with fresh baked crackers), the peaceful atmosphere, the golden light of the setting sun streaming through the window and the fact that it was just steps from the motel at which we were staying.
Their website says they’re open, but arrived at 5pm on Saturday, January 10, 2026 and THEY WERE CLOSED. I wish boothbay restaurants would do a better job at updating their hours and noting if they’re closed for the season. I could’ve saved a trip.
