“Last minute accommodations: My daughter’s high school graduation/pool party celebration had been canceled twice, and we were at a loss. Chaps’ upstairs event room saved us. This kid works two jobs in our community and she deserved the great time we had today. Our locals look out for one another and today was proof. Thank you, Chaps Saloon.“

“It's a great dive bar. As a bartender from a land far away in the western lands of Colorado.. this place made me feel at home. If you don't like your drinks strong or served with some sass, stay around the pier and expect paying 3X the price for a fake smile and the same shot. Personally, I tip good for strong drinks and service that's direct. Best bar in Old Orchard.

“Can't say enough great things about this place. All the staff are welcoming, friendly, and great at their jobs. The drinks are all delicious and not overpriced like most bars in the Portland area. The vibe is immaculate, and they have a bunch of old school game systems (I will always be at the N64 table). The bar itself is super unique and quirky. AND they give you free popcorn and nachos. If anyone tells you anything negative about Up & Up, they're a terrible person and not to be trusted.“

“I went in on Friday afternoon to ask if they could make a buffet style fajita meal for 9 people that I could pick up the following day. I had a bunch of people coming over at all different times so making a reservation was impossible. I went back Saturday afternoon and was totally impressed! The amount of food was enough to feed an army, all fresh, hot, and in trays ready to serve. These people knocked it out of the park! I come here often to eat and have never been disappointed. “How could anybody complain when we’ve just been through a pandemic - We’ve been through a shutdown, many thousands of people have died, schools closed & kids had to learn from home (and then had hybrid learning), many businesses folded & people lost their jobs, the job market changed & people worked from home - Prices went up considerably which made it much harder for some people to get by & many could not make it - I feel that it is remarkable that The River Tap & Grill has done as well as any restaurant out there - Kudos to the owners, the staff & to all the others who have made this possible -“

“The food here is really delicious, but honestly, the prices are a bit steep for such a casual spot. It felt like they were nickel-and-diming on everything. A $17 burger should come with fries, but instead, they charge $4 for a fries upgrade (since the burger comes with chips), and the fries themselves were just mediocre. I don’t understand how that’s an “upgrade” when a side of fries typically costs that much on its own. The toppings were another surprise — $1 for each veggie like tomato, onion, and lettuce seemed a bit much.

That being said, we really enjoyed the food. The burger was great, and we also got the mango habanero wings as an appetizer (6 wings for $9.99), which were phenomenal. Service was also solid.“

Good Lob, Good Corn, Good Bread, Good Slaw.

Great place to have a very good meal on a picinic table.
