“First time here. I enjoyed the atmosphere so much that I forgot to take pictures! I had a peach-cinnamon mimosa, which was delicious! Tried the It's Cheesy flatbread. It was a great combo of cheeses , spinach and garlic! Highly recommend! Promise to be back and post pictures next time.
Must mention Jamie the bartender, who was not only whitty, personable but he really knew his cocktails!“

“We came across this place by chance. Actually we just wanted to buy a few beers to take away. In the end we spent several hours at the bar tasting beer. The staff was extremely friendly and we had a great chat. I would give more than 5 stars if I could.“
“In town for a short trip, stopped in for a quick drink, and immediately loved the vibe. We took our time exploring the space. Very cool. Vinyl spinning on the turntable, vintage maps displayed throughout. Very unique and thoughtfully decorated venue.“

“In a random twist of events, we found ourselves looking for a bite to eat on our way to our hotel in South Portland. We decided to look in the less crowded area of town and happened upon Bread and Olive. The dishes were mostly tapas sized. All of the ingredients seemed fresh and homemade. We had the bread and olives for an appetizer, the Mediterranean Flatbread and the grilled cheese... all of which were delicious. The homemade sourdough was absolutely delectable. The best part about the dishes being smaller is that we had room for dessert, which was a bundt cake. Lastly, the staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating. We highly recommend Bread and Olive!!!“

“Come for the games, stay for the cocktails and comfort food. The bar program rivals any place in Portland. The staff is welcoming and friendly. Always good music and events too. I mean who doesn't like a hot dog with Sauerkraut?
There's regular skeeball leagues, pinball tournaments, board games, card games, etc. It's an adult playground filled with nostalgia and friendly people. A must!“

“Really great little spot tucked away in downtown Portland.
Really incredibly diverse beer menu, with a really simple but delicious food menu. These guys and gals really know their beers and are super friendly.
We had a tuna sandwich - just a really solid tuna sandwich, nothing fancy, but tasty - as well as the deviled eggs - delicious, better than moms - and a cheese and meat plate - all super high quality cheeses and meats.
Had a few different beers, and all delicious.
I would recommend anyone stop by, it’s fantastic.“
“karaoke Wednesday and Thursday nights. Very chill people to hang around with, my favorite place in town to have some beers!“

“This is among the most confusing dive bars in (greater) Portland. It's effectively on the SMCC campus, but is in absolutely no apparent way a "college bar." Its general vibe is a perpetually dark, quiet, locals-only sort of dive that makes considerably more sense as a community staple in a working class neighborhood, yet it's effectively on the campus of an immaculate community college and mere steps from postcard-worthy views and a beach teeming with affluent tourists flocking to Air BnBs in some of the area's most expensive real estate. Is it the "last great holdout" for "real locals?" Is it an investor's elaborate ruse to keep the lot's property value down? Will you get 86'd if you try to order an imported beer? Who knows! Karaoke on Wednesdays.“

“This might be the best overall bourbon list I have ever seen at an establishment. Prices were reasonable as well. I just wished they opened earlier than 4pm. Burger next door at Rigby is 5 stars.“

“I LOVE that DTL is requiring proof of vaccines to enter!! Keep up the great work!! I prefer to not drink/dine in the company of antivaxxers :)“
“Cash only, but they have an ATM. Food is delicious and more affordable than a lot of places in the area. Everyone behind the bar has always been very friendly, starting with Rick who retired a few years and carrying on with the new bartenders. I also love that it’s been around since the 1930s, as one of the first bars around to reopen after prohibition. It’s definitely a neighborhood gem!“

“Absolutely adore Turfs. Great bar, amazing staff, and tasty snacks. A lovely, down to earth sports bar with lots of activities happening around it. Cascobay Sports does a variety in their half gym attached to the bar, making it a great way to 21+ athletic fun“

“One of our favorite places, nice laid back atmosphere with couches & bookcases, reasonably priced beers, and located at the entrance to Portland’s wonderful West End. They serve a great Beyond burger, as well as a black bean burger. They also have a number of other nice options including vegan cheese pizzas, chili, and chili cheese fries! “Absolutely loved the vibe of this place. The drinks were yummy and fancy feeling, but not to my wallet. They had good happy hour deals, a friendly bartender, and a nice rooftop patio. Excited to see this place get a bit more lively and appreciated, it has the potential to be quite fun. The food was a lil random, I wish there were a few more bar snack options other than a shrimp hot dog or street corn with crickets on it, but although eclectic and not what I was in the mood for, it was still quite good. At happy hour, got 3 margs and 2 plates for around $45“

“Unfortunately, they were out if most of what we initially ordered, which was a little disappointing when it happened more than once.
The brined chicken seems raw but is fine to eat, although it still has the consistency of raw chicken.“

“Oh My God what a gem this place is! First off when you walk in it smells incredible. I had the Godmother grilled cheese. It was so good I couldn't hold a conversation......or maybe it was their margaritas!! Anyway the sandwich was unbelievable and the "secret sauce" on the side for dipping is something I didn't think I needed but ended up wanting to be buried in!“

“To our surprise we came across this place after waiting to long for another place.. the appetizers were amazing and the food was very high quality and very well presented. I was very happy! “
“Best part: If you squeeze in between the desk and chair, you can sit on the floor right next to the (floor to ceiling) window, and it's like sitting on the edge of a cliff looking out over the Turnpike. The noise level is well-controlled, and it's quite peaceful looking at cars and trucks roll by from six stories high. Needs to be high room on the back of the West tower for this effect. Quietest a/c / air system in any hotel I've stayed in, and the controls were pretty legible. Bed was comfy and slept well. Some mystery spots on the coverlet. If you're a DIY type, take along a scraper and some paint and you can fix the peeling paint in the bathroom. Stay away from the breakfast, if you're not used to a mass-market diet, either way you'll do just as well at McDonald's. 'Fridge is useful if you want to lightly freeze things. If you want the good ol' days of a freshly-made bed every day, get on it immediately. We waited til day 3, and despite obediently ordering 24 hrs in advance, chaos still ruled when we returned at 6 pm. The same fellow running check-in eventually arrived with a few towels; we decided he was probably running the whole place on his own that night.“

“Been talking about Bar Futo for a year now ever since their pop up at the amazing Koji Club in Boston. Here’s how it went. Get one of everything. Drink a bottle of sake. Chat with amazing staff. Order more yakitori. Have some beers. Order a crazy dessert. Buy the kitchen some shots. And listen to the story of the amazing chef and owner on what it takes to open and run the best new restaurant in New England. I said it. Sorry Boston but gonna have to step it up notch. Can’t wait to come back!“
