“A Perfect Stay at the Claremont – Made Unforgettable by Captain Alwyn (sp?) and Lady A Our stay at the Claremont was absolutely incredible from start to finish. The rooms were beautifully appointed, the service was attentive and warm, and the location couldn’t have been more picturesque. Every detail felt thoughtful and refined. Dining at Little Fern was also a highlight—delicious food, elegant ambiance, and top-tier hospitality. But what truly made our trip unforgettable was our charter with Lady A. We were lucky enough to set out with Captain Alwyn, a knowledgeable and passionate local who brought the beauty of the area to life in such a personal and engaging way. From hidden coves to sweeping coastal views, every moment on the water felt like a scene from a dream. Captain Alwyn’s expertise, warmth, and deep roots in the community made the experience both relaxing and enriching. If you’re staying at the Claremont, I can’t recommend this experience enough. Treat yourself to a day on Lady A—it’s a must-do, and one of the most memorable parts of our Maine getaway.”

“We were on our first trip to the Southwest Harbor area and were recommended to try out Vacationland and MAN it didn’t disappoint! We are huge coffee lovers and Chris’ knowledge and love of all things coffee is ever present! This cool little spot was so close to our Airbnb and it is right on the water! The breakfast sandwiches are also delicious with Mike on the grill! The coolest part is he offers custom coffee to go in sealed 4pack cans. Can’t wait to go back next year!”

“Had dinner here in October when on a trip with my mom. It was a nice break from all the seafood places (not that we don't love our seafood) a nice relaxed place to just chill and enjoy a meal. I had the chicken sandwich and it's ruined every other chicken sandwich I've had since (and chicken is my jam). Also if they sold jars of their homemade pickles I'd have bought multiple they were so good!!”

“I was hesitant about taking my young family here, but the loft did not disappoint! It's a new family favorite in Bar Harbor, and I have converted to loving seafood and the raw menu because of the loft! The ahi tuna nachos were a hit all around and a big recommendation to try! We can't wait to go back! The staff and food was amazing, and they even catered to my two children (1yr and 4yrs old).”

“We've been semi regulars since the Deli opened. Living locally, I come by in spring and fall when it's not too crazy in Bar Harbor. The food is always delicious and the service is quick and friendly. The stand out is their Thanksgiving Day After, without a doubt the best Sammich in town!! Thanks to Robin and her crew!!”

What really made the experience stand out was the customer service. Our cashier, a wonderful Jamaican woman, was so warm, personable, and welcoming from the moment we walked in. She made us feel genuinely appreciated as customers and brought such positive energy to the restaurant.

The cook was also fantastic and took the time to give us recommendations, which ended up being spot on. You can tell the staff truly care about the customer experience and take pride in what they do.We’ll definitely be returning next time we’re in Bar Harbor!”

“First visit - we’ll be back! Super friendly staff, great casual atmosphere, delicious cocktails & excellent fresh food thoughtfully prepared. We loved the Krispy Kale & Beet Salad with puffed farro, the Flank Steak Skewers with carne asada marinade, & the uniquely flavorful & crispy Parmesan & Herb Fries. Topped off with Chocolate Mousse with to-die-for pistachio brittle on top & a cappuccino.”

“This place is a MUST! Over the week we have been in Bar Harbor we have ate at A LOT of places, Tap & Barrel is hands the best meal I’ve had here by a long shot. Marina was super knowledgeable and gave 15/10 service! You will not regret stopping here and grabbing a bite to eat or even just some drinks!”

Lobster rolls are the best we’ve had in Maine, blueberry cheesecake was amazing, staff was so kind and excited to have us there and we were seated at perfect, intimate indoor table with gorgeous views of the harbor. Went back the next day and had scallops & clams, and food was equally as amazing and fresh as night before. We LOVE Beal’s and will be visiting any time we make it back up to Maine!!”

“Tuesdays are slow days for any bar. Not The Barnacle, though. Industry workers and outdoorsy types were walking into the bar, giving it a cozy, neighborhood vibe. Pockets of friends were chattering away in the hidden nooks of the bar. Barstool tables were patronized by all walks of life. The Barnacle felt like a gathering place where everyone was welcome, and that was the vibe we were looking for when walking downtown in Bar Harbor after checking into our hotel.

The menu list was extensive enough, with some food options available. The bar itself is a bit small, but there seems to be an outdoor patio space (verify this, though, as I just saw the back door open).

This is a great place to end your day, or start your adventure. The menu is sized right for the size of the bar itself, and the Paloma Kombucha Margarita isnot too sweet, but certainly delicious. I will be back here again!”

“Amazing place. Kitchen is open until 11pm which is a blessing! The staff is super chill and the food is amazing! The pulled pork sandwich is fire and so is the burger. Definitely check it out when you’re in town!”
