Creative pizza offerings, 3-4 choices of different "slices" that are huge if in a hurry, or not, or get a whole pie. Could be warmer. Small plates: greenbeans delicious, cauliflower roasted tasty.A few wine choices, lots of beer styles, nicely priced.Best deep dish around!

I love when a random stop turns up a gold nugget. This places makes an excellent pie, dare I say it, the best ive come across in Maine so far. I had the Angelo Pappas. The base was a perfectly cooked thin crust, slightly thicker at the edges but that was light and airy too, not stodgy old bread. It had the right char on the crust too. The sauce, toppings, especially the pickled jalapenos were perfectly applied. Highly recommend this place, I can see me commuting from Portland just for their pie. Thanks to the team at Oysterhead,Parking: Located off the side street.

Oysterhead Pizza Company is a small, wood-fired pizza shop located in downtown Damariscotta. On a side street, you'll find a dedicated parking area with a few spaces. Outside, you'll find a nice seating area for when the weather is nice. When you walk through the doors, you're greeted with a welcoming smoky, fireplace smell that serves as a reminder that you're about to eat some deliciouswood-fired pizza. Inside, the lighting is warm. The seating area is small, but it's cozy. The staff is very friendly and quick to make recommendations for drinks and pizza. They do have slices at the counter, but I definitely recommend waiting for a fresh pie. During our visit, I ordered two small pizzas: the Johnny Fontane and the OPC Margherita pizza. My wife went with the Lisa Simpson (vegan pizza). While waiting for the pizza, I enjoyed a tasty beer from a Maine craft brewery. There are a number of local craft beers available, along with ciders, non-alcoholic beers, and sodas. The pizza looked incredible when it came to our table. The Johnny Fontane was colorful and vibrant. It had a pleasant spice from the fresh jalapenos which paired well with the sweetness of the sauce. The base of the pizza was perfectly crisp and thin. The crust was fluffy, light, and airy. I feel like I could eat a ton of this pizza without filling up because of the lightness of the dough. The Lisa Simpson was chock full of fresh ingredients with a very tasty sauce and a lovely seasoning spread throughout (but most noticeable when eating the crust). The kale was prepared perfectly: not soggy and not burned to a crisp - just right! The vegan cheese was tastefully applied. Often, adding too much vegan cheese will add a gooeyness to pizza that isn't ideal, but the folks over at Oysterhead Pizza Company do it right. The OPC Margherita has exceptional flavor. The garlic puree adds a spicy medley of flavor to an already outstanding sauce and delicious fresh mozzarella. The fresh basil is a nice touch. I seriously can't stop eating this pie, despite being full. Overall, Oysterhead Pizza Company earns high marks for delicious pizza, great service, and an excellent atmosphere. I will definitely be returning to dine outside in the summer months.

Awesome pizza... get there early or suffer a line in a cramped little building. Pizza make it worth the struggle.

I had an amazing experience here with there great pizzas that they make?, I got one of there specialty pizzas and they let me swap the regular cheese with there vegan cheese because of my dairy allergy. Very accommodating and friendly!Dietary restrictions: They have vegan cheese so if you have a dairy intolerance or allergy you can still enjoy pizza!

Stopped in for a quick lunch on our way from Rockland to Portland and oysterhead pizza ended up being a highlight of our trip. Great location and even better pizza. We got the pepperoni pizza and the garlic bread and both were great. Will definitely make stop on our next trip.

The food here is delicious and the staff are super friendly. My husband and I moved to the great state of Maine a couple of years ago and have been trying to find excellent pizza (his favorite of all foods). Oysterhead did not disappoint, great flavor in the sauce and crust was spot on. We ordered the pepperoni but I am excited to come back and try some of the more unique combinations on the menu. We also ordered the smoked wings and they may have been the best I have ever had (and I order wings often). Fell right off the bone and had beautifully caramelized crispy skin with a super flavorful sauce. You can tell the chef cares about taking his time and doing things right. If we did not live about an hour away we would be visiting regularly. We will make it a point to stop in the next time we are in the area!

Great pizza, and AMAZING bagels! This is our go-to local wood fired pizza joint! They have great flavors, innovative combinations, and great thin crusts! Their bagels are the best I've had north of NYC.

Great pizza and good beer selection. I wish they had more seating. But it's a solid pizzeria.
