the lobster rangoon dip was AMAZING! the service was excellent!
The Baked Haddock was one of the best I've ever had! The spices and carrots were amazing! I would recommend this restaurant to anyone!
From FL, wanted some real Maine cuisine. These are some of the Bean family recipes, and meat, fish, vegetables are locally sourced. We really enjoyed the root vegetable salad, big enough for 2-3 to share. The candied walnuts and fresh feta cheese, along with apple vinaigrette, made this salad something special. We also tried a lobster roll with homemade chips, and coleslaw and a lobster bake. Food was fabulous, service was excellent.
Definitely five stars, highly recommend...read full review

Linda Bean's Maine Kitchen & Topside Tavern is a restaurant located in Freeport, known for its fresh and well-prepared food. While some may consider it a tourist trap, the lobster rolls have received high praise for their quality and taste. The menu offers a variety of options, such as lobster rolls, lobster stew, clam chowder, fish and chips, blueberry wings, and a Reuben. The lobster dishes are generously sized, and the Rangoon dip and mac and cheese have also received positive reviews. Visitors have enjoyed the lobster roll with homemade chips, coleslaw, and a lobster bake, all showcasing locally sourced ingredients and Bean family recipes. The restaurant features outside seating with fire pit tables overlooking the flagship LLBean store, creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere.
The service is generally attentive and helpful, with staff often providing excellent service. The prices are slightly steep, which is common in tourist towns, but many find the quality worth it. The restaurant has a welcoming atmosphere, though during busy times, there might be a wait for a table. The view of LLBean's flagship store and the clean restrooms add to the overall experience. While the seating and decor could use a refresh, this does not detract from the good dining experience. The food, including the blueberry pie and root vegetable salad with candied walnuts, fresh feta, and apple vinaigrette, has been praised for its flavor and freshness. Linda Bean's Maine Kitchen & Topside Tavern remains a recommended spot for those seeking a taste of Maine cuisine in Freeport.
