“This place is a gem! Probably the only fine dining in the gardiner area! The drink menu is deep and I’ve yet to have a bad one, usually ask one of the wait staff to point me in the direction of their favorites as I get overwhelmed with the choices ?. The food is always top notch! You can tell a lot about a place by their Buffalo wings, it’s a simple and messy dish but if you can make amazing wings then your probably going to care about everything else just as much!Gotta give the owner props for clapping ? back at these terrible 1star reviews! I can understand someone having a bad time but a true critic would understand that a 1 star review is a spat on burger from McDonald’s with a bandaid in their soda. This place is on the other end of that spectrum that is for sure! I’d rank this place up there with Flux or some of the nicer establishments in Portland! Keep up the good work, I’ll be back that’s for sure!Parking: It can be hard to find parking, but it’s just as hard to find parking for the post office down the street. It’s really not that bad I’d only take one care or park further down and go for a nice walk“

“Really enjoyed this meal! 4 courses, each thoughtful and delicious, at a good price point in central Maine. So why were we the only table on a Friday night? People, please patronize this restaurant! 3 states for atmosphere because it was 1. Empty 2. Too dark in front, too bright in back 3. Decor needs some work. But all of that is secondary to the food, which was good. I think they’re taking a hit for the lack of polish but don’t let that deter you. A rare bright spot in the overpriced, bland desert that is central Maine dining. I’ll be back, and I hope we’ll have some company next time!“
“Growing up, this was my parents date spot when we would visit my aunt who lived in hallowell at the time. It was a bit mythical in my mind from their tales of it when they came home and I can't believe that it lived up to the myth, 35 years later! Just that alone makes this experience wonderful. We each got specials, the crispy haddock (which was fish and chips without the fries) for me and the steak au poivre for my partner. Both of us would get it again. The best part of the meal was the peanut butter fudge swirl pie, which was the best dessert I've had at a restaurant in years. I was not expecting much but it was whipped really well and didn't feel heavy, which is a miracle with peanut butter. We were upstairs, they ask if you can do stairs when making reservations. It's definitely eclectic in the decor and it felt like there was something to admire anywhere you looked. There was a large party next to us that were a bit loud- it was so quiet once they left. It's not cheap but it's worth it and it's been around for decades but it's not stuffy at all.“
“Great atmosphere and the food truly was something you need to experience. I was so pleased with the food and service I asked to speak with the manager just to let her know how great our experience was. This place deserves 10 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐Try the crab cakes, muscles and steak, potatoes and green beans. It was all perfect!!“
“Nice bar that had a lot of different selections of beer. I think 44 exactly. Don't queue me on that though. Their steak and cheese is pretty good too. I really liked their flavored fries too. All in all would definitely come back here.“
“Faith always takes excellent care of us. She remembers our drink orders from previous visits and always provides top notch service with a smile even when we are a "p.i.t.a.".My fries were a bit on the cold and soggy side, but my BLT was excellent.“
“First off, that beef stew is amazing! Had a small bowl of it today and it hit the right spot. Been there a couple times now and they're always friendly. Fast service. Wife loves the fish tacos. The mac and cheese is amazing. Shakes are great! Definitely recommend then any time I can.Kid-friendliness: No kids menu but portions are big enough for 2 kids to split a meal.“
“This place is a hidden gem! Cozy inside and friendly. They're busy so you may have a wait (honestly my husband got a little antsy) but once the food came he totally understood why. Delicious, fresh, huge portions. Definitely worth any wait for food that amazing. We got two meals out of ours and the desserts...out of this world.“
“Pretzel with beer cheese was awesome. Wife had the Ashley sandwich and I had the Dunkin Doug, both were great and filling. Good music great staff.Parking: Gravel lot for parking.Wheelchair accessibility: It is a gravel lot with pavement in the front of the building with a ramp.“
“This was the first time here this season. It was windy and a little chilly. The course has a few places that need some grass to regrow. The greens were in really good shape. The pond is full, so stay out of that. The periscope on #7 is handy to see where your ball lands down near the green. I did par both par 3 holes...exciting for me.They have a good selection of beers and liquor. Also, they have a nice menu available. They often have live music. They have an indoor simulation golf machine available throughout the year. The new back deck is great for sitting and watching as golfers finish the 9th, 18th holes. You can see mountains off in the distance, and the sunsets can be spectacular.“
“Moving nearby and I love this place! They prove you can make exceptional food with limited equipment. Fair prices and good beer selection. Sorry about the 5th star, it’s a me thing, ok with SOME country music and I know most love it but nonstop it’s just grating.“
“I thoroughly enjoy myself every Thursday karaoke night not just because of the entertaining crowd of regular singers, the DJ's the whiskey kitchen has Hired on a regular basis are Wonderful individuals as well with a nice little stage that is usually a utilized for seating. The owner Brian is a down to earth sweet soul that does his best to ensure a comfortable environment and even will socialize when he's not too busy. The staff are a great crew behind the bar and in the kitchen the Mac and cheese is superior to any chain restaurant which should be expected of a locally owned establishment I haven't had a bad meal or cocktail/drink in all of my visits at the whiskey kitchen. I enjoy the rustic wooden look of the restaurant that gives a saloon vibe with a modern twist even when I go without friends I feel comfortable and ready for a good time at this bar/restaurant.“
“Food and beer were both awesome. Stopped in on a whim and we were not disappointed. Will definitely be back in the future. We stopped in on Hallowell's Mardi Gras celebration. Really recommend the beer cheese soup, it's to die for.“
“Amazing service, and such a kind wait staff! Ashley was our server and we realized after ordering that we left our credit card at home. We had some cash, and the manager made sure that we were able to afford our meal. They were so great and understanding of our situation.“
“Great place for a good meal! It's very much worth the short ride from I-95, as an added bonus , there is a great river view just outside the restaurant.Parking: There is plenty of parking across the street with a crosswalk to assist in getting to the restaurant.“
