“We had a great experience there, food and service was great. The staff was very considerate. We had a tuna and a salmon poke bowl and they were the best that we've had. We also had an eel roll and that was as good as I've had elsewhere. Would definitely go back. There is limited seating inside, but there is several outdoor tables with umbrellas. They were quite busy with takeout orders, but they served us promptly.“

It was outside the delivery time, so I used Grubhub to send to us lunch while waiting in line for the Djo concert at Thompson’s Point. Grubhub delivery never picked up my order, so the Portland Pie manager brought me my order in his personal car as a pure act of human kindness. The pizza and the spinach dip were amazing!!! We were so thankful for this generous act and delicious meal. Good food is nothing without true customer service and this place has BOTH! Nice cafe next door support great breakfast and coffee and utilizes this space in the Longfellow lobby for seating. Great vibes, low to moderate noise that you can still hear a normal conversation.“

“Amatos is a quintessential southern Maine experience. Good fresh food, wisecracking staff and no frills. There is a reason the original Italian has been around since 1908. But,if you want a simple and surprising treat, I get the poor boy and add a little pizza sauce.“

The staff at this location (1108 Broadway) was very friendly, and the service was quick and efficient. The sandwich itself was tremendous. “I love this restaurant for existing here so much. It's so convenient for dietary restrictions that the fast-food restaurants completely ignore when you need to be able to drop in and go.

A tip for this particular location by Olive Garden in South Portland: depending on time of day & day of week, it can be way better to go around the mall to and come in behind through the entrance off the Clark's Pond parking lot rather than deal with the congestion in front of the mall and that right lane that kicks in at Books A Million where you're wondering if people are just fully parked and texting, as long as it can take to get moving sometimes.

Definitely worth the traffic, whichever way you go. The b.good sauce is great with the sweet potato fries.“
