What can you say?? It's New England's first craft brewery, opened a few months before that MA patriot one. :D They keep it simple with a quaint tasting room, plenty of seating outside in great weather, very comfortable and still fantastic brews!! Definitely recommend!
My son and I stopped here while traveling through Portland. Not only did we get to taste some excellent beers, but we were treated with such kindness. My son had a lot of questions about the brewing process and they went above and beyond in sharing their knowledge and expertise. It was the highlight of his trip!
I’ve loved Geary’s hsa since it came out. I wish it was still year around instead of seasonal like it used to be. Am talking about the original not the bourbon infused
We recently visited the brewery tasting room on a girls trip to Portland after finding it on Groupon and would definitely recommend everyone add it to their itinerary! Paul was extremely informative, helpful, and lovely to chat with. We had a great experience doing the tasting flights! I’m currently not able to drink alcohol and they had a wide variety of non-alcoholic options that he enthusiastically accommodated me with - they even have a subsidiary company that specializes in non-alcoholic options.
I went to the coast of Maine for a couple of days and I saw Geary's Original Pale Ale for sale in a local store, and am I ever glad that I purchased a case! By far the finest pale ale that I have ever tasted in the US of A...it has the qualities of everything that I enjoy in a pale ale, thank you Geary's, I'll be back for more...
I came here specifically for their non alcoholic beer. I had the non alcoholic raspberry sour beer here. It was pretty good. Although it tasted more like a wheat beer than a sour beer. They also have a very nice outdoor patio area.
This was a small tasting room compared to most other breweries I’ve visited in the past. However, this is where size really doesn’t matter as it boils down to the potency and flavor of their brews. I have never heard of them previously (also did not even know they were the first NE craft brewery) but noticed patrons walking in and out from the other side of the street. I asked a local friend that I was with and he simply told me to go get a flight in, which I did not hesitate in the least to do.Definitely was worth checking out when in the area. There were a bunch of locals hanging out in there with various brews in their hands. They were obviously proud of the place and welcomed me in as I ordered two flights to taste most of what they had to offer. $20 to taste 8 brews with lovely locals to chat with? Absolutely worth it.Good stuff. Definitely stop by if you’re traveling through.
Great people and beers. Wish they had more hours.
Shhh! Great beer and no crowds?
I love this brewery, it was my favorite brew house to visit. Thank you, to Les and the entire Geary's brew family.I'll see you all next year.Cheers!!!?

I do not get the closed for the winter when so many area breweries are open, especially on a Saturday. Be a player in the brew pub scene or sell out already.
This was one of the most unique yet enjoyable experiences at a brewery. Small establishment feel but big friendly service. Really enjoyed stopping in after a hard weeks work with the husband. Must try their seasonal Oatmeal Stout! We will be back.
Old man up front was friendly and very knowledgeable about his craft had a great time overall and the price was great too
Great place and great beer
Not sure why Google is saying they open at 9 am lol because that is not accurate. Beer was good!
