“There was no one else inside and we were a little worried, but the food was amazingly delicious. People are missing out by not giving this gem in the rough a try! I had the butter chicken and garlic naan. Prices aren’t bad, especially for Portland…I wish there had been more butter chicken because it was so good, but I left feeling very full. My partner had the mango chicken and he said it was delicious.“

“This place is a legit Indian restaurant! The butter chicken is absolutely delicious, especially with the garlic-buttered naan. We also tried the lamb curry, and it was fantastic. The unlimited rice that comes with the meals is a nice bonus. The staff was very accommodating, though it seemed like they were short-staffed as only one guy was serving. The place could use a bit of cleaning since we noticed some flies around. However, the food is exceptional, making it well worth the visit.“

“I tried Taj for the first time the food was delicious and the staff was very friendly. There was a little bit of a wait for the food, but it was so worth it.“

“We had a wonderful dinner here after getting turned away from 4 fully-booked restaurants in Old Port. Mind you, we started out disappointed, having not been able to eat at any of the places we'd planned, but our mood was quickly reversed when we started eating the food. This place deserves a much higher rating given the delicious food and attentive service we received. The Chicken Tikka Masala was amazing and the garlic naan was pillowy and buttery deliciousness - the best I've ever had. In talking with the staff, this restaurant has recently changed hands and the new owner and chef have really turned things around. Definitely worth a visit.“
