“absolutely awesome food. Just went there for my first time last night and wow the food is absolutely top notch. They grow their own vegetables and source most if not all of everything else locally from what I gather. Not only is the food absolutely stellar, but the place has a lot of seating, inside and out. 10/10 would reccomend“

“Great restaurant, creative menu. I had the granola and yogurt, would have been better with more yogurt since I was left with mostly dry granola to eat after finishing the small amount of yogurt. Tasty, but proportions need to be more balanced. Otherwise a nice breakfast.“

“My review is based off of the tamales just ordered. I grew up in Panama and it was one the best treats to get fresh tamales. It didn’t happen very often- but when it did, I loved them so much. And obviously in Maine- it’s almost impossible to find them- especially authentic. I was quite impressed with Sammy’s take on tamales. Of course- they are not the exact replica of what I had- but they are very impressive. And it’s A LOT of work to make them. It’s not Taco Bell. These are real tamales and I truly hope they don’t go away. Thanks so much for adding these into the Midcoast menu taking the time. Truly delicious. 🇵🇦“

“As a born and raised Mainer we have been up and down the coast eating seafood all of our lives. This place is hands down one of the best. Seafood is plentiful as well as the best tasting. I consider myself a scallop conisor, l know a good fried scallop. This place is the best. And the fried clams are just as good. Take it from me you will not go hungry or disappointed.“

“Have lived in a variety of places up & down the Maine coast and eaten at many a waterfront restaurant. Some, I think, figure the view will distract you from sub-standard food - lobster roll served on a tiny hot-dog bun, burnt/dried out fries. Granted, it's not haute cuisine you expect when you eat at one of these places, but done well, it's a delicious and essential part of a coastal visit. I had tge absolute BEST crab roll here - a small sub roll STUFFED with crab and just a dab of mayo. No celery/lettuce filler. Fries were moist! Ate 'em all. And I don't usually get excited about fries. Husband had an enormous fried haddock sandwich. Big piece of fresh fish that dwarfed the bun. Plus we got an outdoor waterside seat on the deck on a beautiful day, and great, smiling service. I live two hours up the coast, but hope to return and replicate this experience again sometime.“

“Good Experience at Rock Harbor Pub & Brewery

Finding parking in Rockland is tough, especially with an RV! Luckily, after checking in at the campground, they suggested I park at Pier 2 near the Light House Museum and Police Station. I was looking for a simple bite to eat and some time to walk around, so I stopped into Rock Harbor Pub & Brewery on Main Street.

The atmosphere was great, though the service was a bit slow and disorganized. It wasn’t clear who was handling customers, but no big deal—just added a bit more time to the visit. I started with the Rock Harbor French Fries and was curious to try their Rock Harbor Beer Cheese. The fries were basic, and the beer cheese wasn't what I expected—it was more of a paste than melted cheese. For my beer, I went with the Spruce Head Stout. It had strong chocolate and coffee undertones, but the balance was a bit off—the chocolate overpowered the beer a bit. It reminded me of Young’s Double Chocolate Stout from Eagle Brewery.

For my main dish, I asked the bartender for a recommendation between the tacos or another item. She suggested the Chicken Tacos, one of the most basic items on the menu. I think there was a missed opportunity to upsell, but I understand how it is being in the industry myself. The food overall was decent, and I left a good tip for the bartender on both card and cash.

All in all, it was a good experience. I’ll definitely be back!
