“First time here. I enjoyed the atmosphere so much that I forgot to take pictures! I had a peach-cinnamon mimosa, which was delicious! Tried the It's Cheesy flatbread. It was a great combo of cheeses , spinach and garlic! Highly recommend! Promise to be back and post pictures next time.
Must mention Jamie the bartender, who was not only whitty, personable but he really knew his cocktails!“

“If you are a tourist in the area, go here first!
We are so happy and lucky to have dropped in here! There was a wide selection of drinks of tap, IPAs, pilsners, and ciders.
The best part, was our host. He was so kind, and was able to give us so many ideas and recommendations of what to do around Portland. We essentially planned our whole weekend based on his recommendations, and he even helped us figure out transportation.
Stopping in was the best thing we could have done for our weekend trip to Portland!“

“Where else can you get Belgian beers on tap and get threatened with violence by the server? Happened to me 8-13-23 4pm out on the deck. Never will I bring out-of-Towners there again.“

“Great food made on the premises, including homemade desserts and sourdough bread. Try the charcuterie plate with several cheese, fruit, nuts, bread and a rotating sliced meat. Or the grilled shrimp or tuna, both yummy. Cocktails, wine, espresso -- choices galore. gotta love the espresso martini, even a decaf one! Jazz or blues background music, no headbanger stuff. Relax and enjoy...“

“This is among the most confusing dive bars in (greater) Portland. It's effectively on the SMCC campus, but is in absolutely no apparent way a "college bar." Its general vibe is a perpetually dark, quiet, locals-only sort of dive that makes considerably more sense as a community staple in a working class neighborhood, yet it's effectively on the campus of an immaculate community college and mere steps from postcard-worthy views and a beach teeming with affluent tourists flocking to Air BnBs in some of the area's most expensive real estate. Is it the "last great holdout" for "real locals?" Is it an investor's elaborate ruse to keep the lot's property value down? Will you get 86'd if you try to order an imported beer? Who knows! Karaoke on Wednesdays.“

“This might be the best overall bourbon list I have ever seen at an establishment. Prices were reasonable as well. I just wished they opened earlier than 4pm. Burger next door at Rigby is 5 stars.“

“I LOVE that DTL is requiring proof of vaccines to enter!! Keep up the great work!! I prefer to not drink/dine in the company of antivaxxers :)“
“Cash only, but they have an ATM. Food is delicious and more affordable than a lot of places in the area. Everyone behind the bar has always been very friendly, starting with Rick who retired a few years and carrying on with the new bartenders. I also love that it’s been around since the 1930s, as one of the first bars around to reopen after prohibition. It’s definitely a neighborhood gem!“

“One of our favorite places, nice laid back atmosphere with couches & bookcases, reasonably priced beers, and located at the entrance to Portland’s wonderful West End. They serve a great Beyond burger, as well as a black bean burger. They also have a number of other nice options including vegan cheese pizzas, chili, and chili cheese fries! “Upon landing in Portland, we were greeted by a Nor'easter, but our determination to savor a superior lobster roll remained unwavering. Highroller Lobster Co. exceeded our expectations, serving a delectable lobster roll accompanied by sublime old Bay seasoned fries and an extraordinary whoopie pie. Although we were unable to finish our meal, we gave it our best effort. The staff was extremely welcoming and knowledgeable.“

“Absolutely loved the vibe of this place. The drinks were yummy and fancy feeling, but not to my wallet. They had good happy hour deals, a friendly bartender, and a nice rooftop patio. Excited to see this place get a bit more lively and appreciated, it has the potential to be quite fun. The food was a lil random, I wish there were a few more bar snack options other than a shrimp hot dog or street corn with crickets on it, but although eclectic and not what I was in the mood for, it was still quite good. At happy hour, got 3 margs and 2 plates for around $45“

“Oh My God what a gem this place is! First off when you walk in it smells incredible. I had the Godmother grilled cheese. It was so good I couldn't hold a conversation......or maybe it was their margaritas!! Anyway the sandwich was unbelievable and the "secret sauce" on the side for dipping is something I didn't think I needed but ended up wanting to be buried in!“

“Been talking about Bar Futo for a year now ever since their pop up at the amazing Koji Club in Boston. Here’s how it went. Get one of everything. Drink a bottle of sake. Chat with amazing staff. Order more yakitori. Have some beers. Order a crazy dessert. Buy the kitchen some shots. And listen to the story of the amazing chef and owner on what it takes to open and run the best new restaurant in New England. I said it. Sorry Boston but gonna have to step it up notch. Can’t wait to come back!“
“Best part: If you squeeze in between the desk and chair, you can sit on the floor right next to the (floor to ceiling) window, and it's like sitting on the edge of a cliff looking out over the Turnpike. The noise level is well-controlled, and it's quite peaceful looking at cars and trucks roll by from six stories high. Needs to be high room on the back of the West tower for this effect. Quietest a/c / air system in any hotel I've stayed in, and the controls were pretty legible. Bed was comfy and slept well. Some mystery spots on the coverlet. If you're a DIY type, take along a scraper and some paint and you can fix the peeling paint in the bathroom. Stay away from the breakfast, if you're not used to a mass-market diet, either way you'll do just as well at McDonald's. 'Fridge is useful if you want to lightly freeze things. If you want the good ol' days of a freshly-made bed every day, get on it immediately. We waited til day 3, and despite obediently ordering 24 hrs in advance, chaos still ruled when we returned at 6 pm. The same fellow running check-in eventually arrived with a few towels; we decided he was probably running the whole place on his own that night.“

“Great ambiance for our group aged 14-75. The food is incredible with complimentary flavors. It has a neighborhood dinning feel with high end quality food. The staff RC and CT were very friendly, knowledgeable, inviting, not rushing of patrons, and a real joy and pleasure to speak with. I'd definitely recommend for any occasion or like us, no celebratory occasion at all. Great find for dining near where we were staying.“
