Everyone behind the bar has always been very friendly, starting with Rick who retired a few years and carrying on with the new bartenders. I also love that it’s been around since the 1930s, as one of the first bars around to reopen after prohibition. It’s definitely a neighborhood gem!“

“This is my absolute favorite place in town. The atmosphere is so pleasant whether on a quiet winter night or a bustling Friday evening. Drinks are incredible, and though pricey, not any more expensive than other spots in town (which is impressive for a hotel bar). The main reason we come here is the staff. “This is a two part review… first about the food and second about the owners. The food: my boyfriend and I have been dying to try out the blue pig for some time now. We were able to get there this past Sunday and wow, just wow!! Every single thing on the menu looked amazing. We had deliciously flavored mimosas, their amazing boozy espresso, the spicy pulled chicken and a brisket Benedict special. Every single bite was absolutely delicious! Perfectly cooked and flavored. Definitely the best breakfast I’ve had in a very long time… we will be back!! The owners, Paul and Brianna: the nicest and most kind humans! We rode our motorcycles there, something we haven’t done much this summer due to our crazy schedules.. after our wonderful meal, my boyfriend’s brand new bike wouldn’t start. We went back in asking for a couple tools to try and get it started. Both Brianna behind the bar and Paul in the kitchen took time out of tending to their very busy business to help us. Paul brought out tools, a jumper pack, and tried to help get the bike started. When it wouldn’t start, they moved their own vehicle and let us push the bike into their spot where their cameras would be on it overnight while we worked on getting a tow. To stop what they were doing and take the time to help us out while running a busy restaurant just blew us away. We are both business owners and understand the value of not only going above and beyond, but just being kind humans. The blue pig is our new spot, and we will be recommending to everyone we know!“

“Best part: If you squeeze in between the desk and chair, you can sit on the floor right next to the (floor to ceiling) window, and it's like sitting on the edge of a cliff looking out over the Turnpike. The noise level is well-controlled, and it's quite peaceful looking at cars and trucks roll by from six stories high. Needs to be high room on the back of the West tower for this effect. Quietest a/c / air system in any hotel I've stayed in, and the controls were pretty legible. Bed was comfy and slept well. Some mystery spots on the coverlet. If you're a DIY type, take along a scraper and some paint and you can fix the peeling paint in the bathroom. Stay away from the breakfast, if you're not used to a mass-market diet, either way you'll do just as well at McDonald's. 'Fridge is useful if you want to lightly freeze things. If you want the good ol' days of a freshly-made bed every day, get on it immediately. We waited til day 3, and despite obediently ordering 24 hrs in advance, chaos still ruled when we returned at 6 pm. The same fellow running check-in eventually arrived with a few towels; we decided he was probably running the whole place on his own that night.“

“10/10!!! My husband & I had to take the 1.5 hour drive to Portland for an appoinment. We came across this wonderful place while searching for a delicious lunch. Wonderful, superb authentic food! we tried the house made jalepeno poppers (ginormous & fresh) to start. Husband had the pork chimichanga (pork cooked to perfection) & I had to try the fried green tomato tacos. Blown away by all the flavors! Abby was our awesome server who served up a wonderfully funny sense of humor! Be careful though, she BITES!!! 😂“
