“My husband and I were on vacation and wanted to try oysters for the first time. It was amazing! The staff was wonderful and told us what we needed to know about having oysters and described the difference between the oysters they had. The whole experience was the perfect way to end our stay in Bath.”

“Let me put the cart before the horse and tell you this was one of the best, if not the best, experiences I have had at a restaurant. Corrinna was lovely. She took time to explain to this uninitiated wine consumer the differences between wines, glasses, and tasting, as well as pairing with foods. Speaking of food, this was also splendid. We started with oysters, which was a first, calamari, pork belly, arancini, and focaccia that melted in your mouth. My main course was the Swordfish with sweet potato puree, fingerling, and swordfish "bacon" jam. This is a silent gem that I selfishly stays quiet for my purposes, but Back River Bistro needs to be visited by anyone who loves a small curated dining experience. Much success to Matt & Corrinna. It is much deserved.”

“My husband and I went to Anna’s in early July. As Mainers we have had a lot of seafood at different places, but they had the best seafood platter I’ve ever had before. Even better, topped it off with homemade blueberry crumble. This place is a little slice of heaven .”

“I recently had the opportunity to hold a free Easter basket book raffle at the local restaurant “The Galley”, Bath, ME. The Galley’s owner and staff were excited and supportive of show casing the “Sold Soul” book. This book cornerstones the cause of domestic abuse awareness and can’t be found on Amazon. The outcome was a success. I am grateful. My family and I have been dining at The Galley since I was a child. The food was made with fresh ingredients and the taste is exceptional. One of my favorites is the hash and cheese omelette that I inhale. It is served with their hand cut crispy home fries (mine with onions) and raisin . I cannot forget the endless cup of coffee that is served by their attentive staff who is always keeping an eye on an empty cup. You will always find the service is impeccable along with the ambiance of warmth and welcoming feeling one gets when entering their door. The staff greets you with a smile every time. It is a perfect way to start your day whether it be breakfast or lunch (try the haddock sandwich). The prices are reasonable, food top notch and excellent service. A worth the visit local restaurant! “This place was fantastic! The vibe is 5 stars. On a nice day with the bays open to the outside, the place is not loud, and it is full of happy people and also dog friendly (let's be honest, dogs are better than people anyway). The beer: 5 stars! I am a picky beer drinker, I live in Massachusetts and frequent Vermont where there are world class breweries. This beer measures up in quality. I was blown away that they had a Hazy IPA at 4.5% ABV that was as flavorful as the 9% Imperial IPA! In addition to being a beer snob, I am also a pizza snob and the pizza was amazing! It took about 10 - 15 minutes. 5stars on the pizza. Lastly, the people at the ordering counter were super friendly and knowledgeable. Note: we were there on a weekday. It was pretty busy, so weekends must be insane. It is well worth it, if you are visiting the area, be sure to check it out.”

“Good food, great steamers. But the bees wow. I literally bought a soda just to try to deter the lovely 5 we had away from our table. Didn’t really work, so we ate in the car. Idk what they can do about that situation, but yeah. Can’t really enjoy it and I wanted to”

“I can’t say enough good things about this little coffee shop! From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with a warm smile and the inviting aroma of freshly brewed coffee. The cozy atmosphere makes it the perfect spot to relax, catch up with friends, or even get some work done. Their coffee is consistently top-notch—smooth, rich, and flavorful. They clearly take pride in sourcing high-quality beans, and it shows in every sip. And don’t get me started on their pastries—always fresh and absolutely delicious. Whether you’re grabbing a quick espresso or settling in for a leisurely latte, this place never disappoints. The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive, always ready to make personalized recommendations if you’re unsure what to order. It’s clear they love what they do, and that passion shines through in the service and quality. If you’re looking for a local spot with great coffee, a welcoming vibe, and outstanding service, this coffee shop is a must-visit! I can’t recommend it enough.”
