“When visiting Maine two years ago, my husband and I were looking for gluten free restaurants, which can be quite the chore. After reading the reviews for Shannon's, we drove to Boothbay and couldn't believe all the gluten free options. We ordered more food than we needed because there were so many options. Everything was fresh and delicious. Seriously, gluten free onion rings! During that trip, we ate there twice and twice again the next year. We are looking forward to next year's trip and more Shannon's food. In addition to the food, the staff are warm, welcoming and friendly and make you feel like a neighbor instead of a tourist. We are huge Shannon's Unshelled fans!”

“We just tried Vera Idyllic Pizza for the first time and we were impressed. We tried both pizza and calzone - both were excellent. The pizza dough was tasty and well cooked. The red sauce had good flavor and there was none of the ugly garlic powder or sugary flavor that you sometimes get on pizzas at other locations.
This was a cash only place when we visited.”

“This place was recommended by a former resident of Boothbay Harbor. It is simple, straightforward, and phenomenal. They make fried haddock and fries. That's it. When I saw that a fish sandwich was $20, I thought it must be a ripoff. It was just the opposite! My wife and I easily ate until we were full. I'm not kidding when I say it seemed like there was 2 lbs. of haddock. This was easily the best fish sandwich I've ever had.”

I don't eat steak often, so when I do, it makes sense to get the best, and Paul's definitely serves it. Pair it with some great wines, and a lovely evening is enjoyed by all. Today, we drove 2-1/2 hours from Bar Harbor to Wiscasset to eat at “In a Silent Way.” It exceeded all expectations. James Beard-level food and wine. From the oysters to the steak tartare and raspberry panna cotta, everything was magnificent. Well worth the drive. Confident sharing, In a Silent Way, is the most elevated food in Maine. And lovely service as well. Gushing.”
