“Fantastic service and food. We were accommodated at short notice and has a wonderful evening. The flatbread and mussels were particularly good! We had oysters to share at the start. There's a nice mocktail menu too, which we also enjoyed a couple from. Friendly staff and a cool location inside an old apple barn. 🍕🦪”

“We had a great lunch on a Monday afternoon. It was a little chilly inside, but that is to be expected with an old building. Service was friendly and efficient.
Local greens in the side salad were fresh and delicious. Loved the pickles with the sandwich.
Reuben was amazing- not greasy, fresh house corned beef. My husband had the patty melt with yummy sweet potato fries.
There are some other items I would like to go back and try, like the fried pickled asparagus !

“Let me put the cart before the horse and tell you this was one of the best, if not the best, experiences I have had at a restaurant. Corrinna was lovely. She took time to explain to this uninitiated wine consumer the differences between wines, glasses, and tasting, as well as pairing with foods. Speaking of food, this was also splendid. We started with oysters, which was a first, calamari, pork belly, arancini, and focaccia that melted in your mouth. My main course was the Swordfish with sweet potato puree, fingerling, and swordfish "bacon" jam. This is a silent gem that I selfishly stays quiet for my purposes, but Back River Bistro needs to be visited by anyone who loves a small curated dining experience. Much success to Matt & Corrinna. It is much deserved.”

“I went to Peppers Landing at 11:30 for lunch and ordered the Brunswick lobster roll. The roll was tough and dry and I asked the server when this was cooked. They could only tell me it's reheated on the grill. This was The worst lobster roll I have ever had. The restaurant manager was gracious enough to give me a whopping $5 discount for the food. This meal was 30.00 including fries and Cole slaw. I will never go back.”

“Followed a recommendation and so glad we did. It was extremely hard to choose from all the baked goods and sandwiches. The avocado toast panini, roasted brussels with bacon, and peanut butter chocolate cupcake made the final cut and they were awesome!”
