“This was our 2nd wine dinner presented by Grand Traverse Resort & Folgarellis. The food has been creative & excellent quality. The service, including chef's explanation of each course, has been first class. The cost of the dinner & wine pairings is very reasonable considering what is included.“
“We are beyond grateful for the exceptional services we received at the Grand Traverse Resort during our daughter’s wedding and events. The breathtaking views, amazing food, and dedicated staff made for an unforgettable experience. Special thanks to Chef Auston for the Michelin star quality of food and services with a personal touch, Payton Taylor for ensuring seamless event setups and execution all around, Sarah Arnott for the most amazing guest services, and Gaye O’Neal for her warm and incredible leadership. Despite unexpected weather challenges on the day of wedding and reception, the resort team mobilized the staff that quickly restored everything to help carry the celebration forward. The Grand Traverse Resort team worked very well together and looked after each event to oversee that no stone was left unturned ensuring an outstanding setup and a memorable event delivery. We highly recommend Grand Traverse Resort for those seeking an exceptionally extraordinary 7-star event experience! -Dipak & Ginni Doshi“

“While staying in Traverse City, we ventured upon this delicious restaurant. The food was amazing, from the appetizers to the entrees,to the sides, and the drinks; everything was delicious! I would highly recommend their Smoked Cherry Sour, the Smoked & Deep-Fried Wings, the Sword Fish & Black Lentils, and the Smoked Pork Rinds. And the staff? They were friendly and accommodating. We just might have to visit again before we journey home. There were additional items on the menu I was curious to try.“

“I will always recommend J&S to anyone. I love the atmosphere and the friendly staff. The food is excellent and fairly priced. Great portions as well. The family who owns it gives back to the community 10 fold. A million stars all around. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️“

“A pretty good spot. Most menu items are between $10-20. We did not order a burger, but there are 10 or so unique burgers on the menu. The jalapeño popper items (omelettes, burgers) really stuck out to me. I had the Philly wrap, it was great. Portions are not super huge, which is just fine. Cole slaw quality needs to be checked, that or it is just not their best item. The interior is very homey and will remind you of your home town diner.“

“We took our daughter snow tubing for her 12th birthday 🎂 the girls had a blast! The fire pit was perfect for adults. The hike down is a little sketchy, but we made it. THANK YOU to the amazing employees! You guys are the best“
“I was staying there do to my significant other in the hospital for a motorcycle accident. There was a few housekeepers there I talked to personally and I want to tell everyone what a amazing job they did to make sure all of our needs were met, as of fresh towels, blankets, and what ever else we needed.. thanks again and God bless each and everyone of you..“

“I loved everything about this restaurant except the price. That being said, you get what you pay for. 2 very tasty beers, and 2 huge plates of crispy fish & chips for my girlfriend and I with some whitefish dip as a starter set us back about $100. The drive there is part of the experience so dont forget to look around and imagine the life you'll never have owning or working at any of the hundred vinyards. The service was stellar, for our large group + 1 baby we felt well looked after. The beer was delicious, but if I knew it was $10 for 1 glass and roughly $25 for a growler, id have brought my own cup. If I'm back in Traverse City, Ill definitely go back for the fish and chips and a growler of beer.“
“Love the atmosphere! Staff is amazing. If you are in Traverse City, it’s a must!“

“Would I recommend? Hmm. Our server was great ( I wish I got her name) but she was overwhelmed and they were under staffed. The food? Not great. Everything was overdone. The cornbread was dry. I ordered the seared tune salad and the tuna was more medium well. The music could have been a little more upbeat for a weekend. While we all ( a party of 6) ate our food, it wasn’t the greatest. It may have just been an off night, every restaurant has some. I felt bad for our server. She was such a sweetheart. She can’t control the cooking staff or management. Management needs to learn that they need to take better care of their staff to make sure that patrons experience is above satisfied. Will I come back? Maybe. But it might be a long while? Will I recommend? If someone asks me about I will be honest. Will I come out and say you have to go there? No. But I won’t discourage anyone from trying it.“

“William, our server, was such a kind young man who had wonderful suggestions and was very attentive. We were going to ask for more rolls next time he stopped by the table, but he had predicted our request and showed up with more rolls without us asking. The short rib, charcuterie board, tomahawk steak, and pear cake were all delicious. At many restaurants I have been to, the requested temperature for a steak is more of a generalization but the tomahawk was cooked exactly how I wanted it. Overall a very quaint and enjoyable evening with great service and a beautiful view.“
