“Oh Happy day, this place closed months ago and was put up for sale. This great Greek family just reopened Monday, we had to visit. Yes same family, Ma & Pa with the daughter welcome all those long time customers with a smile. Thanks Sidney our superstar waitress, you a keeper. Check they Facebook page everyday for Specials. Had a outstanding sandwich named the Smokestack OMG. Corned Beef, Ham n Turkey on Toasted thick Greek Bread with Cheese and sauce. A true gut stuffer, could barely finish it. She had the half Deep Fried Chicken spot on delicious. Marvelous Bean n Ham Soup made in house. This folks a Downriver Gem , place been a restaurant over 80 years with different names. Easy to find just a hundred yards off I-75 the Rockwood exit. Spotless clean everything and friendly staff, a must visit. “Regular customer here, the food is always great! In fact I just had a chef salad and it was the best I've had up to date. The only place I've found where the meat- veggie ratio was perfect. I had a bite of meat with almost every bite AND I didn't have to pay extra for extra meat. The service is always amazing and we're always excited to go back. I'd HIGHLY recommend Verna's!”

“What can I say—it’s Burger King! I eat carnivore, so I ordered the double with bacon, keto-style, without cheese. It came exactly how I asked—just the meat, no bun, no condiments, and they didn’t try to get fancy by throwing in lettuce like some other places do. Simple and done right. After a long shift, it was a quick, satisfying meal at a great price, and honestly, it was very tasty.”

“I love going to Nocturnal! It's a special treat that I am absolutely willing to drive up to Monroe for. The drinks are tasty, the employees are friendly, and the decor and atmosphere are my favorite. I wish the location was larger, with more seating. It's a bit of a bummer to drive 40 mins and have the seating full with drinks "to go" only, but Nocturnal is still my favorite. Nothing but love. 🖤”

“Biggy Monroe is THE BEST. As a coffee snob, I used to think Starbucks was good. OMG was I wrong! Biggby coffee is better tasting, better prices, and the staff are the best! Violet, Audra, Ava, Aiden, Sam, Kiah (to name a few) are always pleasant, funny and remember our order before I even speak. lol. Plus, the specials they offer can't be beat! “The absolute best little bakery and cafe. Everything and I mean everything is delicious. It’s all home made from scratch and so so so good. It’s one of those places you can take anybody to and they’ll find something yummy to eat. It feels so good to be able to go out with my little daughter and be able to feed her good food she actually is excited to eat. A very special place!

Kid-friendliness: They are SO good about your littles. My girl loves everything there, cookies, sandwiches, soups, quiche. The staff is super kid-friendly. We go so often, my 2 year old girl loves them all!”
