Kitab Midtown Reviews
Amazing coffee shop. Always full for a reason. Highly recommend brown sugar oat draft latte and the Caprese. The pesto is outstanding. They also have good matcha and ready to have juices. The Hallbrook sandwich is one more of our favorite.
love this spot! I decided to leave a review to request that you please get shades on the windows we can adjust during the day. It gets blazing hot and difficult to see my screen when working / studying in the cafe - which is the main reason I come here. Other than that, the coffee and food is great and it's a beautiful location.
I absolutely LOVE the new Kitab Midtown location! It opened in February 2026, and they have done an incredible job with this space. From the moment you walk in, you can feel the energy. It’s lively, welcoming, comfortable, and just has a really great atmosphere.

Based on the reviews, Kitab Midtown is a bookstore, coffee stop, and sandwich stop with a warm, welcoming vibe. The staff is super kind and helpful. Their drinks are soooo delicious, including a brown sugar latte, cinnamon roll latte, cookie butter latte, and chai latte. An iced caramel macchiato and iced cookie butter latte were made amazingly and with care. An iced vanilla latte was much better than a Tim Horton's vanilla latte. A chocolate croissant was so good. The egg and cheese sandwich with sourdough and chipotle sauce was fantastic. A caprese sandwich and a made-to-order sandwich are also available. The cafe is a good study area, but because it is near Wayne State and so popular, it is typically full and hard to get a spot. They put quite a lot of ice in the drinks. There is free parking in front, but it is hard to find an open spot. The rewards system is nice.
