“First time dining here … it was delicious! We had the goat dish & chicken dish both served with plantains, coconut or spiced rice, beans & corn/cucumbers salad and spinach side dish, both entrees were tender, seasoned with earthy spices … excellent! Their hibiscus tea and spiced coffee were delicious too. We enjoyed the avocado pudding and passion fruit desserts. Our server was knowledgeable and personable. He made great suggestions. We will be back soon!“
“This place is absolutely amazing! The most authentic Greek food in Detroit. The Gyros are soooo good and packed with meat for the price. Next, the fries are the best. Hand cut and seasoned to perfection. There is a nice selection of soda fountain drinks, but try the Freddo coffee it's so good. The donuts are little pieces of heaven. Staff is super friendly and service is fast. I love this place!Parking: Parking across the street.“
“Omg this place is life customer service was impeccable. The atmosphere is lovely, comfortable and inviting with a laid-back feel. Most definitely go and visit. The only thing I would say is parking is awful because of its location. Definitely is a hidden gem in the Detroit area. Go and visit coffee was delicious and also was the Old fashioned ?“
“Okay okay.. so we just came back from our trip to Italy and were searching for good gelato back in Detroit.. and this place delivers! The gelato is legit. The pistachio flavor is so good. Affagato with vanilla gelato was a hit. We are coming back for sure!“
“Great spot/environment in terms of coffee shops! Owner and employees are always friendly and welcoming, and just a nice place to have in the Detroit community. Wifi may or may not be working depending on the day, but still giving it a 5 star for all the good this place has to offer, totally recommend!!“
“I had a lunch meeting at In Harmony Cafe today, and oh my... it was amazing! I tried the "Mug of Gold" for something different, and it was SO delicious! And the Veggie Oasis wrap has got to be the best wrap I've ever had, no doubt about it. They also had a fantastic selection of jazz playing in the background. And the service was top notch all the way! Looking forward to my next visit already!“
“Great coffee shop with a creative array of specialty lattes, including some fun seasonal flavors. I really enjoyed the honey cinnamon latte, though it was on the sweeter end. It would have been much better with half as much sweetness. I’d certainly return for the coffee.Food options leave something to be desired. I tried the only vegan option, an orange pound cake, and found it flavorless and dry.Vegetarian options: Orange pound cake is the only vegan food option. They do offer plant milks“
“Mr Chimetime had me feening over some pie!!:So I ordered the chocolate pie it was good, but the banana crunch with caramel it’s amazing I love the consistency of the salted maple and banana crunch pies better and then the cream of the crop the banana bread warmed up with your fav beverage made me want to go to sleep. Now the service top notch beautiful ladies answering all my questions! When I come back in town I will stop by.“
“I've been here probably a dozen times for coffee and snacks. Finally got a larger meal today. The bread (possibly sourdough) is amazing. Some of the best I've had In the city. And it was a generous chunk with my soup. Next time I'm getting a sandwich “
“This place is a Sunday afternoon vibe. Chill relax place to talk with friends and be blown away with every drink on their menu. I'm a sucker for hidden away coffee shops to begin with, but this one deserves all the stars I can give. Very unique, very Detroit vibes. I love it.Edit 2024: during the weekday, it's a quiet and chill place to work. There's great wifi too. Their playlist slaps, so be warned, the vibe is real.Dietary restrictions: A huge selection of alt milks!“
“We had our sober social and karaoke night at The Congregation. They were amazing. They had everything we needed and helped to make sure we were all set for our event. The mocktails were a huge hit and the coffee is the greatest. We’ll definitely be back.“
“First time trying this place today; they are drive-thru only. I got an oatmilk latte that was great, I usually say all coffee tastes the same but this one was very good. The donut (birthday cake) was awesome, the outside was crispy but not hard, and the inside was soft. Pleasant, quick service - would visit again!Parking: There was parking available, but the place is drive-thru only, so you wouldn't need to park anyway.“
“This is definitely an establishment you don't want to miss out on visiting. Their service is always impeccable and friendly and very welcoming. Their pastries are amazing, their coffee and the ambiance is beautiful. It gives you all the warm and cozy feels of visiting your favorite grandma. ✨ I would highly recommend visiting this establishment it's great for business, meeting up with friends, and they also allow you to rent out the space for private events!“
“I cannot believe it took me so long to discover this not-so-hidden jewel, which is only minutes away from my home. My husband and I ditched our normal Saturday brunch to drop in on Detroit Sip. The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable about the products. Detroit Sip's vibe is like a warm, neighborly hug. The decor is whimsical and inviting. My caramel latte and cheese Danish were very goodMy husband also enjoyed his dark roast and muffin. We'll be back, in fact I tried to return the following Tuesday morning. Guess I should have paid attention to the hours listed.“
“Great little coffee shop. The staff was super friendly, and the atmosphere was really chill. They didn't have a large menu, but what they had they do well, and it's great not getting overwhelmed by too many options. It would be nice to see at least one sugar free syrup option, but I was pleasantly surprised by the variety of full sugar syrup flavors they had. I'll definitely be stopping by whenever I'm in the neighborhood.“
“Staff was personable and helped create a drink that fit my preferences! Highly recommend the orange cardamom latte with some chocolate. Syrup made in house, which is a plus. The vibe was cozy and suitable for somewhere to chill solo or chat with friends over a cup of joe or tea. Free designated parking lot was clutch.“
“I frequent this place every week as a nearby student. The coffee & food are excellent, and the service as well, everyone is very nice and i’ll stay there open to close working on school work. very cozy and great place to chat & work.“
“Loved my 60th Birthday cake!!! Not only was it delicious! The final cake looked exactly like the photo! The bakers were so accommodating and communicated with me every step of the way! Thank you #forthrloveofsugar team! I will definitely be back! Life is sweet!!❤️“
“We’ve gotten Dooped Donuts twice downtown and once at the Ferndale Project and they are are always amazing! We decided to order two dozen for our baby shower and they did not disappoint. They were a huge hit and nobody could believe they’re vegan. They’re THE best! Our favorite is the cinnamon swirl!“
“Coffee is amazing. However, I’m dinging one star on service only because it’s Christmas Eve day, and I’m a Jew who wished a Merry Christmas, and got replied back with a Happy Holidays...on Christmas. You can say Merry Christmas, on Christmas. Nobody gonna cancel you. Merry Christmas ? ? ??“
“Summertown Fresh has a variety healthy food options in Corktown - the food is freshly prepared right in front of you. They made a juice for me and literally pureed/blended the veggies as I waited. The staff is friendly, there is street parking in front, and they have a great light-filled space that is great for hanging out, having a meeting, or getting some work done on the laptop (free wifi). They also cater sandwiches and other foods for local businesses.“
“HIGHLY recommend stopping by. I happened upon it (visiting Detroit) on a rainy night, was pleasantly surprised by the hours, offerings, atmosphere, and the lovely staff. I returned maybe 4 more times over my trip, staff was always lovely. Highly recommend the iced Irish coffees and their drip coffee offerings were always stellar. The little cookies I got were phenomenal. I met the owner the last day and he was very jovial and enthusiastic, talked about the music and how they shift the vibes for Detroit's Opening Day. Thanks y'all!“
“I love this coffee shop so much! It's so convenient I can walk to it and it's open late during the week for when I need to work on side projects after my 9-5. The vibe is very cool and the music is just the right volume. There's also options to sit up front by the windows if you want more light, or you can sit in the back for a more cozy feel. I love their coffee and rotating specials. The Columbia Espresso is my favorite and I usually get a bag for home too when I'm here. The Guatemala blend is also very good!“
“what the actual F this place has an absolutely killer egg sandwich that I cannot stop thinking about. I do not live in Detroit I was just there for a pit stop and now I am waking up at my home that is far from Detroit and wishing I could have this egg sandwich. The flavors go pow.“
“Without exaggeration, I can say that this is by far the best coffee I've had in America. They(boldly and unashamedly) serve incredible alternative processed coffees, and if you're into coffee, you are in for a tasty that very few places in the world can offer. Their anaerobic process rivals some of the best competition coffee I've tried in Momos (kor)/Watchouse(uk)/stow (slo) for much lower price. If you come, you should ask them to make you an espresso flight: two espressos and a long filter espresso - an owners own invention i found similar in taste profile to tim wendleboes "nomaricano".“
“Parking here sucks but the coffee and pastries are very good. There are tons of vegan options for drinks and a good amount for food. There's a small sitting area in the back, and the line can end up filling the seating area. If you want to sit and chill, I'd go to another red hook location. All of the other ones have more seating. This one, though, has the best vibes tbh. Make sure you get whatever food you order warmed up it makes it 10 times better.Dietary restrictions: They have all the vegan milk options and vegan quick bites“
“Milwaukee Caffe makes me feel like I'm visiting a European, standing-only, grab-and-go coffee shop if traditional espresso-loving European coffee shops were hip and queer in the absolute best way. I come here to romanticize my life and walk away caffeinated enough to do some damage.“
“Great little shop downtown. Stopped in by chance on a Saturday morning and grabbed a breakfast sandwich. It was fantastic! Menu looks great, and quality of food is top notch. I will definitely make a point to return and try more sandwiches next time we're in Detroit!“
“Wonderful Coffee! The hand made syrups were probably the best I ever had. I tried two lattes, one with vanilla lavender and the other with honey cinnamon and they were great! I recommend both of them with oatmilk. The owner was super friendly with my party and I and we had a very nice conversation with her while she made our lattes. Down Under is only FOUR minutes away from the TCF, walking. There is NO reason to ever get Starbucks again while I am in Detroit for Youmacon. A definite must for all the con goers to give them a try!“
“I happened upon this place on accident but my experience was great i got a French vanilla latte that was really good but I think it was missing the hazelnut which makes it a French vanilla latte and the morning side frappe could have been blended smoother but the person I got it for enjoyed it. The bacon and cheese croissant was ok it had something spicy on it and I wish I would’ve known because I don’t eat spicy food however that could have been my fault for not asking but everything was great and the service was even better and the cafe is beautiful“
“Cute Greek French fusion bakery, nice location in the middle of Greektown. Staff was friendly and welcoming, and the pastries all looked amazing. Great coffee! Got a tiramisu which tasted excellent and was a generous portion. Rolled baklava was crisp and with a delicate sweetness! Will be back, lots more to try!“
“Campus Bistro is easily the best option for breakfast in Midtown. Like it isn't close. Every other spot (except for possibly Olympic Cafe) is completely overpriced or doesn't offer a breakfast option. The draw of Campus Bistro is that it's a great value, especially if you're a Wayne State Student. Besides a couple of spots in Mexicantown, you will not find a more affordable breakfast than this. Also, your portions are huge, so a meal here can take you through to dinner. I had the steak and eggs and would guess that the steak I was given was all of10 oz.The service is awesome, and each time I've gone the waiter has been incredibly attentive. I used to go here when I was in Law School, and now that it's under new management, I think it's a much better restaurant. Highly, highly recommended“
“This place is such a gem!Community driven, this place has a great atmosphere and excellent service. I love seeing the local artwork and the decor of this place. The people are always kind and I continue to come back!Definitely give this place a visit!“
“This place has 3 ways it serves the neighborhood: There is a cafe with drinks and to-go style food that is well-made and fairly priced. It has a laundry mat. And there is a nice sized upstairs space for community needs and fun stuff like ballroom dancing. People behind the counter have always been nice. The space is clean and well-lit. Free street parking is on Mack and Beals. It is a comfortable place to visit.“
“Friendly staff and one of the few coffee places near the Henry Ford main campus. Prefer a simple cup of black coffee when the coffee is quality. Usually request extra coffee when doing a pour over. Usually I avoid the specialty flavored coffees: cherry, vanilla, or hazelnut. I can do a light or dark roast. Flavored coffee is not my cup of tea, as the mixed analogy goes.“
“Adorable place!!!! The decor, even the bathrooms are SO CUTE. I got a mocha and it was good, more foam on top than I'm used to but still good. Bought some strawberry sprinkle shorties for me and my daughter and they were amazing. My friend ordered the quiche and she said it was delicious. Definitely want to come back!“
“One of my favorite coffee spots in the D! A bit unique in that you can have your coffee beverage made of any of the many types of beans and roasts they have available thanks to their Javabot that uses a system of tubes connecting their various types of beans to the barista station. Kind of fits with the whole factory vibe They also have the types of coffee broken up into Full bodied (dark roasts), balanced (medium roast), and mild roasts in case you need some guidance as to what to choose. Want your latte made with Jamaica Blue Mountain beans? No problem! I usually take my coffee black as a pour over, aeropress or drip so I do the "brew by the cup" option which I think they do as an Americano but don't quote me on that. It is pretty unique. You can of course also by whole beans as well which I usually do. They are located in the lobby of First National building at Campus Martius so you can easily do some site seeing after grabbing your cuppa Joe. Parking in the area is usually street parking a few blocks away or the parking structures on Congress.“
“Best coffee and donuts. My husband claims the apple fritters are the best he's ever had.Went today for the paczkis. They were so good! The owner, Gabriel was super friendly and service was great. The place is newly renovated and looks very nice.“
“Found a delicious vanilla latte; plus the dirty chai was super strong and had a unique spiced flavor. The chocolate chip cookie was excellent, soft but with crispy edges, just like I like it, and the yummy chocolate bites mmm so sweet. The eggy breakfast sandwich was perfect on a fluffy savory biscuit. It had an interesting cream cheese spread mixed in making the eggs nice and creamy and the pickle slices made for a nice surprise. I do wish we got a bit more of the side salad because I enjoy my greens! The neighborhood doesn't seem like the safest, but it was still great to stop by this chill spot by chance during our visit to Detroit!“
“Had a great quick sandwich and look forward to trying out there coffee and pressed juice (bottled). The sandwich had turkey and avocado and was like the best sandwich you can make home between two slices of bread with good ingredients, but with a delicious dressing and panini'd. Really beautiful outdoor space wasn't expecting this at all. Thanks for Google for bringing me here and now I add to Yelp! Would be a great place for an event“
“Lovely cafe right across the street from Orchestra Hall. My daughter plays with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra's Civic Youth Concert band so I have time to burn during her rehearsals. Give Thanks is a great place to grab a pasty and coffee. The croissants are butter and flaky. Delicious. The iced latte is out of this world good. I see myself being a frequent customer.“
“My friends and I stopped in for a quick coffee and baked good before setting off for the day. The coffee was brewed fresh and the shopping fun began in the store picking up a few Michigan goods and smoked salts. This coffee shop has a little bit of everything from the beans to spices. Stop by and enjoy the smells!“
“We recently spent a night at The Siren. The hotel was very clean, comfortable and quiet. Our breakfast at the Ash Bar was amazing. The best part, however, was the staff. From the valet, the concierge, the restaurant staff and the housekeeping we received nothing but smiles and friendliness with excellent service. We give them 5 out of 5 stars and hope to stay again soon.“
“I just went inside the business for coffee. The service was great. The employee was engaging and the decor is niceWheelchair accessibility: Door entrance and common areas are spacious enough for mobility devices and have accessible bathrooms“
“What a great little coffee shop! You don’t have to bank at Capital One to go there. If you use your Capital One card to pay, it’s half-off. I got a ginger cinnamon breve (just ask and they can switch up the latte), and it was excellent. I don’t usually like flavored coffees but this one hit the spot on a chilly day. Both staff members were friendly and welcoming. I commented that there should have been more people, but it was close to lunchtime and nice not to wait in a long line. I didn’t try any of the sweet treats in the case, but they looked delicious and they had a ginormous cinnamon bun.“
“One of the best coffee places near Wayne State! I literally go here every day and I am obsessed with their iced brown sugar lattes and at the moment their seasonal pumpkin spice is amazing! They have really good pastries and food as well! The staff is also super friendly! Highly recommend!!!“
“A dreamy escape for cold winter weekend days! I feel so psyched to have FINALLY sauntered into this little slice of heaven that has been on my collections list forever. I'm so excited about it that I'm having a time finding the right words to properly describe it. First, let me say that another patron sort of admonished me for taking pictures to share here. Apparently, she doesn't want newbies to come ruin her secret hideaway. Well, sorry, I must Yelp about this magical book-filled vintage-themed coffee house. Admittedly, I sort of understand why she wouldn't want lots of people piling in on a given Saturday or Sunday. The shop is very low-key, quiet, and highly vibrational. Loud unintentional folk would definitely ruin the vibe. But other like-minded souls would adore the place and hold its sacredness. Walking in, you're definitely not expecting what you'll find. I felt like little fairies took my hand and led me to a magical eutopia hidden in the woods. The lighting and decorations gave me Harry Potter vibes. There were butterflies, bikes, and other whimsical things flying through the air. No, literally, chairs and other decorations hanging from the ceiling! It's a book lover's paradise. There are tons of titles stacked and shelved all over. There are lots of trinkets and tchotchkes for sale. You can find unique gift items here or find something special for yourself. While touring the place, I looked around at the seating, there's a counter seating area and a few tables. However, I saw my sweet spot as soon as I walked in...a comfy colorful sofa in front of a faux fireplace with books and pillows surrounding it. There are lots of treats for purchase. I chose pound cake. It was so light and moist, I gobbled it down with an almond milk caramel latte. HEAVEN! I took a slice of lemon pound cake to-go. I can't wait to go back and visit. Next weekend looks good.“
“I'm a business student at WSU and I normally come out to the school a bit earlier to get coffee here. Fourteen East has comfortable, calm vibes and the coffee is amazing. If you need a nice spot to hang out and work, it's perfect.“
“The servers at the coffee counter were cool and helpful and friendly and funny. The servers at the chicken tender counter were apathetic, seemed bored, had skipped over our order when we went back to see what was taking so long, and didn't say a single word to us when we asked about the order. She just walked over to the ticket pile and found the order then handed it to the cook. We had no interaction with them besides placing the order so there was nothing personal happening. It just seemed like both of them wanted to be literally anywhere else but there. It was my first time at the LCA and it's not a good look tbh. This was the night of 01/06/24“
“Oh my lord, all of the options looked scrumptious. We ordered a pistachio and chocolate croissant, Blackberry/Blueberry croissant, an Almond croissant, Smoked Salmon sandwich, Chicken sandwich and a loaf of Sourdough bread. Everything was excellent and very fresh. It's pricey but worth the splurge occasionally.“
