“This cafe is utterly amazing in every way. It hits all the right notes, with a laid-back vibe that makes you want to linger.

The atmosphere is chic, the food was spectacular, and the drinks were phenomenal – especially the pistachio latte with espresso. It’s creamy, perfectly balanced, and not too sweet. The apple croissant is another must-try — flaky, lightly sweet, and made with care. But the real star for me is the chicken artichoke sandwich — savory, satisfying, and packed with flavor.

Everything paired beautifully, and despite long lines, service was impressively quick. With plenty of seating and easy street parking, this spot is absolutely worth a visit — we’ll definitely be back.“

“We absolutely loved this place!
It has a peaceful, cozy, and welcoming atmosphere — perfect for working, writing, reading, or simply enjoying a coffee, tea, or a snack from the menu.

The music is soothing, and the vibe is ideal for focusing and feeling inspired.
Laptops are welcome, and everything is spotless — clean, tidy, and well-organized.
The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful.

We tried the espresso and an herbal tea (chamomile and lavender) — both were delicious and thoughtfully prepared. They also serve decaf coffee espresso.

Outside, there’s a small garden with beautiful trees and flowers where the birds come to sing, making the scenary from the window even more delightful.

Inside, the presence of green plants adds even more charm — making the space feel warmer, more vibrant, and inviting.

The space is filled with natural light, has high ceilings, and features modern, visually pleasing decor.

It feels fresh, airy, and energetically clean — truly an inspiring place to be.
I would definitely come back.“

I recommend both of them with oatmilk. The owner was super friendly with my party and I and we had a very nice conversation with her while she made our lattes. Down Under is only FOUR minutes away from the TCF, walking. There is NO reason to ever get Starbucks again while I am in Detroit for Youmacon. “If you want the worlds best coffee this is where you should go. (No seriously) Anthology Coffee is a really great place. Its has a chill vibe, covered in plants, outdoor seating, its really cool. The Coffee is amazing. They roast it right there in the cafe and get it from small farmers all over the world who don't use any pesticides or GMO's. The pastries are great and they are all gluten free and they usually have something savory on weekends (It goes fast, so be there early). The baristas are really great and its kid friendly. Anthology Coffee is wheel chair accessible, there is a lot across the street with free parking, its great for groups, really anyone. Its located on 1948 Division St in Eastern Market which is really great cause you can head over to the market after or go for a nice walk on the Diquindre Cut. My sister lives in Detroit and every time I visit we always go to Anthology Coffee, I really love going there. Anthology Coffee is an amazing place, the people there actually care about the quality of coffee and where it comes from, they don't exploit their employees or customers, and really make a difference. The Anthology Coffee family is even better than coffee itself. I would definitely recommend checking it out.“

I got their plain cream cheese too in case I didn’t like the scallion one and even that one was good. It didn’t taste like your regular Philadelphia cream cheese. I will be back. Only thing I’d do differently is not get my bagel toasted, it made it kick of tough but other than that, 10/10“

“I tried the Chai ice cream mixed with Biscoff the best ice cream I’ve ever had. The nitrogen gives it an incredibly smooth texture, and the flavor is perfectly balanced with the right amount of chai.

However, I do have one complaint: their hours can be unreliable. Even though their Google listing says they’re open, I’ve found them closed several times when I’ve visited. This is particularly frustrating because I drive from Florida to Michigan for a week during Christmas break every year and always make a point to stop by. It’s disappointing to arrive and find them closed, especially since their mobile ordering system still works.

Overall, the ice cream is extremely creamy and delicious, but I wish they’d improve their consistency with hours.“

“My wife and I were downtown for the pistons game at LCA on Saturday March 9th and wanted to find an affordable hotel to stay at while downtown. Well we found the siren online and as soon as I saw the pictures I was sold! All the reviews we’re good and I really don’t have one bad things to say about this place. It’s a beautiful historic building that’s almost 100 years old and they still have some of the original building in there. The room we got was 170 sq ft and it was not small at all it was perfect for just the two of us. The provided us with all the hotel amenities such as body wash and shampoo. The staff was amazing and so helpful with telling us how to get to where we needed to go. This place the pictures online do NO justice. From the lobby, to the candy bar, to the hallways, to the cafe in the morning to the ambiance when you first walk in it was all good! The only cons were : $40 valet parking and no phones in the hotel rooms. We parked at greektown and took the people mover to Broadway which is directly across the street from the siren. 10/10 would be back! Love this adorable historic vintage boutique hotel 🩷🩷🩷“
