Sun-dried tomato and basil cheese tart, warmed up with the cheese becoming gooey

Cinnamon roll croissant also warmed up, delicious

I docked 1 star for the unkind behavior of the brunette ponytailed barista. We bought an unhoused gentleman a coffee. He was with a walker and could hardly move. When the barista brought out his coffee, he asked her for cold water. She looked at him in disgust and walked away. I gave her a few mins to bring the water. When I realized she wasn’t going to, I walked over and demanded she give him the water. It was a hot, humid day. We already paid for his drink, it really didn’t need to go like that.

Besides that, all the cashiers were friendly and knowledgeable.“

“Went here for the first time with my daughter, who is a coffee aficionado. We both loved the decor of the place. It’s quite beautiful and the menu offers so much variety that I wasn’t familiar with, I know I’ll be back. Our coffees were unique, and the pastries were tasty. I’ve seen others complain about the price but we paid about $20 for two coffees two pastries and that includes a tip. I don’t think that’s unreasonable in today’s world and it’s so much better than chain coffee shops.“

“I had my first visit on a Saturday and the Cafe featured live music! I stayed way past the last note. The musicians, Mike ? and Greg Mathis (not the judge, but the horn player), did a wonderful oldies but goodies show that took their responsive audience back to our young selves — great job! It was great fun being with my neighbors - they were funny and added so much to the stories Mike and Greg told around the music. The breakfast was just as memorable. My turkey sausage egg sandwich was moist and delicious and the cinnamon roll was so fresh and light, it tasted like it was made an hour ago. I tried my first ever latte - creamy and good. Overall, this is a 5-star cafe with a warm, welcoming owner who creates a warm lovely Real Detroit experience!“

“This cafe is the place to be! Loved it! So many awesome books, very spacious and great seating. They have highchairs. They also have a prayer room which was amazing! There’s a nice outdoor seating too. I tried their new cookie butter latte and it was delicious! I also tried the buffalo chicken sandwich called Holbrook and it was a good spicy meal! I highly recommend this place. It’s also all halal so it was perfect for us to try!“

I don’t have a ton to say about it as it wasn’t an exceptional cup of coffees but it was an enjoyable coffee to start my day. Able to drink it with no problem. I didn’t have any food but lots of pastries. Nice little atmosphere on the inside. I would assume this is best shop in this area. I didn’t try any others but they did a good job.“

“Ive had some tacos before, but Never an Arepa. food is delicious. I got one Chicken Arepa, one bowl, and Definelty was worth popping in after seeing on Chow Down Detroit reviewed. They were out of beef, but definitely gonna pop on here and there. They also have a nice food truck for bars or events looking for vendors or food trucks. definitely one worth trying if you see the truck 💯 Juicy, flavorful and definetly filling with just 1.“

“If you want the worlds best coffee this is where you should go. (No seriously) Anthology Coffee is a really great place. Its has a chill vibe, covered in plants, outdoor seating, its really cool. The Coffee is amazing. They roast it right there in the cafe and get it from small farmers all over the world who don't use any pesticides or GMO's. The pastries are great and they are all gluten free and they usually have something savory on weekends (It goes fast, so be there early). The baristas are really great and its kid friendly. Anthology Coffee is wheel chair accessible, there is a lot across the street with free parking, its great for groups, really anyone. Its located on 1948 Division St in Eastern Market which is really great cause you can head over to the market after or go for a nice walk on the Diquindre Cut. My sister lives in Detroit and every time I visit we always go to Anthology Coffee, I really love going there. Anthology Coffee is an amazing place, the people there actually care about the quality of coffee and where it comes from, they don't exploit their employees or customers, and really make a difference. The Anthology Coffee family is even better than coffee itself. I would definitely recommend checking it out.“

“This location is a block away from my parents house and my Dad goes in 6 times a day. When they found out my Mom had a heart attack on Thursday they sent her a bouquet of flowers. “Flyleaf Grosse Pointe is a haven for book lovers, gourmands, and those unique people who love the nostalgia of an old school Viennese coffee house. The selection of books is curated well and I'll defy you to leave without making a purchase. The decor feels like you've been transported back in time to old English library from an Agatha Christie novel, all we need to complete the vibe is Hercule Poirot or Miss Marple. The quality of the food is superb, they don't skimp and you'll never be disappointed. The staff, are those unicorns who love books and love their jobs. A wonderful hidden gem.“
