“Interesting to back at Dunkin Donuts again. Twice in one week. The service at both was good, fair amount of wait time. Both visits I order the same items, small coffee and a glazed donut. The coffee was fine but the first shop gave me a plain donut instead of glazed. To much trouble to go back through drive thru. The second shop, I decided to walk in and order. They were efficient, but did not have carry holders for the hot coffee. I ordered two coffees and had to juggle them to leave the shop and then get into my vehicle. I'm on the fence if I'll try Dunkin Donuts again.“
“Great place for South Indian food. Small and cozy. We were greeted with warmth and hospitality. Tried weekend veg combo, food was delicious. Staff were welcoming. They went above and beyond to ensure our dining experience was perfect. We will definitely be returning for more!“
“First time visit. I enjoyed my meal, totally new food experience. Never had eggplant in any form, and this first time taste sold me on trying again. Service was quick and courteous. The place was clean, fresh smelling, not to crowed when we arrived. Will go again.“
“What a lovely place to get coffee and some delicious desserts in downtown Detroit! Coffee is always delightful, they use locally roasted beans and pastries ? ? and sweets are fresh and tasty ? my favorite one is of course the almond croissant ? service is fast and friendly! there is a lovely ukrainian woman working in the kitchen, never fails to make the best coffee and just as hot as I requested.“
“This place has nice atmosphere, friendly staff and delicious food and drinks! I love grabbing a hot drink and enjoying it here along with a piece of cake! Mango was delicious, but strawberry ? was even better! I love trying all the new items on their menu and never been disappointed! Will definitely be coming back for “
“Love this place! I've never been unhappy with a drink I've ordered and the staff has always been so kind and helpful. I'm jealous I don't work there - it looks like a blast! Excellent atmosphere.I'm dying for the ube syrup they had this summer. I think about it weekly lol“
“Loved finding this gem! Very serene and an adventurous menu. The service was absolutely amazing. Plenty of seating inside, spacious, and good vibes. They serve Turkish coffee and Yemin lattes. Desserts too. Parking is lot parking right in front. You will pay for top quality coffee, display and all. So expect to pay top dollar and it is so worth it! Can't wait to return!“
“Omg this place is life customer service was impeccable. The atmosphere is lovely, comfortable and inviting with a laid-back feel. Most definitely go and visit. The only thing I would say is parking is awful because of its location. Definitely is a hidden gem in the Detroit area. Go and visit coffee was delicious and also was the Old fashioned ?“
“This place is absolutely amazing! The most authentic Greek food in Detroit. The Gyros are soooo good and packed with meat for the price. Next, the fries are the best. Hand cut and seasoned to perfection. There is a nice selection of soda fountain drinks, but try the Freddo coffee it's so good. The donuts are little pieces of heaven. Staff is super friendly and service is fast. I love this place!Parking: Parking across the street.“
“After indulging in a delightful Mexican feast, our cravings for something sweet led us to Momento, a charming spot that exceeded our dessert expectations. Nestled snugly amidst the vibrant streets, this cozy establishment proved to be a haven for those with a sweet tooth.Opting for a chocolate muffin paired with a steaming cup of hot chocolate, I found myself in dessert heaven, while my companion savored the creamy delight of gelato. The interior boasted comfortable seating, with an added touch of elegance in the glass-enclosed area overlooking the alley, complete with inviting lounge chairs. What truly elevated our experience, however, was the exceptional service provided by the staff. Their attentiveness and warmth made our visit all the more memorable. While parking presented a slight challenge, the convenience of a new parking deck within walking distance alleviated any concerns. Moreover, the surrounding area, located in the burgeoning Corktown neighborhood, exuded a sense of safety and promise, further enhancing our enjoyment. In conclusion, whether you're in the mood for a leisurely coffee, a comforting hot chocolate, or a refreshing gelato, Momento offers an array of delectable treats to satisfy every palate. Whether enjoyed in the cozy confines of the café or taken on the go, a visit to Momento is an experience not to be missed. Highly recommended for those seeking a sweet escape in Corktown's burgeoning culinary scene!“
“You wouldn’t say from outside that this Cafe in fact have a soul. Interior is truly spectacular, hot drinks and food ok.Staff is super amazing and welcoming, especially owners(didn’t catch their names). Follow them on facebook and instagram and you will discover a place with many local events happening almost daily/weekly.“
“I’m trying to stick with small, local coffee shops and when visiting Birmingham, Svenska popped into my search. I loved this little Sweedish coffee shop! My latte was delicious! I loved the pastries here! It was hard to chose, so I bought my three! The cardamom cake was perfection! Even if the coffee wasn’t so delicious, which it IS, I would come back for this little cake!!“
“Great atmosphere and prices. Their Cafe Miel (honey latte) was a spot-on dupe for Madcap's, and not too sweet which I appreciate! Pastries were awesome too. The chocolate croissant was so good and didn't shatter into a million crumbs like most croissants, so it's safe to eat in the car, lol.“
“I cannot believe it took me so long to discover this not-so-hidden jewel, which is only minutes away from my home. My husband and I ditched our normal Saturday brunch to drop in on Detroit Sip. The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable about the products. Detroit Sip's vibe is like a warm, neighborly hug. The decor is whimsical and inviting. My caramel latte and cheese Danish were very goodMy husband also enjoyed his dark roast and muffin. We'll be back, in fact I tried to return the following Tuesday morning. Guess I should have paid attention to the hours listed.“
“This place is everything I want in a donut shop. Feels like it's been here forever, KINDEST folks behind the counter, TONS of donuts to choose from, and super, super low prices. The donuts themselves were just right, and the apple fritter was perfect. The outside had a little crunch at the edges and the insides were soft and flavorful. The glaze wasn't too heavy, and it balanced very well with the other flavors of the fritter. I am definitely keeping this shop on my shortlist of places to frequent because they are a DELIGHT and their donuts are stellar.“
“Great spot/environment in terms of coffee shops! Owner and employees are always friendly and welcoming, and just a nice place to have in the Detroit community. Wifi may or may not be working depending on the day, but still giving it a 5 star for all the good this place has to offer, totally recommend!!“
“This place is beautiful inside! They clean each table after each guest leaves but the bathroom could maybe use a little bit of tidying throughout the day. Overall, it does feel very clean though. I like the ambient lighting and the calm atmosphere it has. I also am so grateful for the fact that they are open so late. Any of the milk cakes are delicious, and I love that when your drink and or food are ready they will bring it to the table you’re at. I wish they had decaf options for coffee but was happy to see that the caffeinated coffee was good and they had an option to sub regular milk with oat milk. Music taste is great but if I’m studying, it can be hard to hear my own thoughts with the volume that it’s usually at. I’ve seen people ask them to turn it down before and the guys that worked there were very nice and receptive about it:) the food is on the pricey side, but all of it is so good and since a lot of people that stop by do end up staying for a while and taking up seats, it makes sense to do that. I also enjoy that they remember to offer heating up your food if you decide to order any. In terms of sustainability, they use plastic forks any time someone orders food, but I understand that it might be difficult to properly clean metal forks in the space that they have behind the counter. If you decide to order a drink and sip it within the cafe, they will bring your drink to you in a ceramic mug rather than paper, which is nice. If you get a cold drink they’ll bring it to you in a plastic cup, but I understand there aren’t many sustainable cup options for cold drinks. I know it might seem like I’m being negative about this place, but not at all. I’m so grateful to have something like this in this community, and just wanted to give suggestions on small things they could maybe do better(everybody has room for improvement). But I would absolutely recommend checking this place out. One of my top 3 favorite cafes in the area“
“Such a beautiful atmosphere with a good amount of seating including some comfy chairs. Friendly service and delicious food and beverage. The Dexter Delight is dangerously delicious! It's an egg and cheese on a warm donut. There's the option to add bacon or sausage. Definitely a must try! The Cup of Gold was also great. I live in the area and appreciate the free wifi as a place to do some work outside of home. They also have some games for use including a tic tac toe board and a couple chess boards which is a thoughtful touch. Great way to support local business ☺️❤️“
“Great coffee shop with a creative array of specialty lattes, including some fun seasonal flavors. I really enjoyed the honey cinnamon latte, though it was on the sweeter end. It would have been much better with half as much sweetness. I’d certainly return for the coffee.Food options leave something to be desired. I tried the only vegan option, an orange pound cake, and found it flavorless and dry.Vegetarian options: Orange pound cake is the only vegan food option. They do offer plant milks“
“Mr Chimetime had me feening over some pie!!:So I ordered the chocolate pie it was good, but the banana crunch with caramel it’s amazing I love the consistency of the salted maple and banana crunch pies better and then the cream of the crop the banana bread warmed up with your fav beverage made me want to go to sleep. Now the service top notch beautiful ladies answering all my questions! When I come back in town I will stop by.“
“Coffee is amazing. However, I’m dinging one star on service only because it’s Christmas Eve day, and I’m a Jew who wished a Merry Christmas, and got replied back with a Happy Holidays...on Christmas. You can say Merry Christmas, on Christmas. Nobody gonna cancel you. Merry Christmas ? ? ??“
“I love this Qahwah house location and that they’ve expanded to many locations while maintaining the same level of quality across all locations. I love every drink I’ve ever tried. The teas and the coffees are both very delicious. Definitely recommend coming here.“
“Super cute little cafe. It’s out the way. Plenty of seating safe. I sat by the window so I could take some time from my electronics and just watch the cars drive by. I have a vanilla chai latte and it was really good. I had a bagel with the cream cheese inside, I wish it had more cream cheese but other than that it was good. If I’m in the area, I’d definitely go back. Especially in the summer.“
“Popped into this cute little spot and was amazed. There is something for everyone on this menu from an extensive list of Belgian beers to an excellent list of classic and inventive cocktails and even an interesting wine list so grab your buds and come check it out. Also, I have to go back and check out their sourdough pizza which I have heard is fabulous. It doesn't happen until after six.“
“This place was absolutely amazing! I have been waiting to get here for a few months, but my busy schedule didn't allow. It lived up to be everything I expected and more! Rah has such amazing customer service and she is a very personable person. She had me to try a cold matcha, which I have never tried before and I absolutely loved it ❣️“
“Was in the area so decided to stop by and so glad I did. They have lots of unique flavors that I throughly enjoyed. I loved my pear bagel and chai with carrot cake syrup. I ordered online and they waited to put ice in my drink until I was there so it wouldn't get watered down. If I was a living in Detroit, I could see myself becoming a regular.“
“Found this place on a random walk across the city. Their ice creams taste amazing!! Tried their nutella with chocolate crisps and Tiramisu with brownie-Loved them!!! The quality is rich and the ice cream is super creamy. The guy at the cash counter was very friendly and gave us an overview of the flavours before the order. They made the ice cream right in front of our eyes from scratch with some smoke effects ..haha its from the nitrogen I believe. Overall- great outlet for good quality ice creams! Will definitely visit again.“
“We stopped in before heading to the Riverwalk to explore. I got the Rose latte... I thought it was great. Not too sweet but sweet enough. We chatted with the barista for a bit and she gave us some tips on where to go and check out. She was very nice. The place is located under the Hanah restaurant. It was very small and had maybe 6 seats if you wanted to hang out.We parked on the street - there was a few10-15 min pick up parking spots you could use.“
“The first callout I have to make is I absolutely LOVE the diversity of choices in this menu. They have so much more unique options than your standard coffee shop and all of them are so different. Their menu represents so many countries and regions, including Moroccan, Hong Kong, Brazilian, Spanish, Viennese, Vietnamese, Korean, Thai, Japanese, Indian, Sudanese, etc. This is a place that you can just keep coming back to and try completely different flavors and styles of coffee and tea with every visit and I really appreciate that. They also have small snack options, with my favorite being the Nutella taiayaki. This was a pleasant surprise for me since I'm generally not the biggest fan of classic red bean taiyaki. I ended up ordering the Brazilian style latte and my girlfriend got the London fog. We both loved our drinks and would definitely return to try others. As for the space, it's certainly not what I expected but I really liked the concept. Meillie Coffee is just one of a few vendors who all share a really large space (with TONS of seating). They also have sandwiches and ice cream available at the other vendors, so you can probably come here in the morning and end up spending enough time working until you want lunch from the other vendor as well.“
“If you're looking for a cozy spot to spend a delightful afternoon, I highly recommend my second favorite cafe. This place has everything you need to unwind and relax: from delicious coffee to a great selection of books, and a unique atmosphere that you won't find anywhere else. The ambiance is warm and inviting, making it the perfect place to catch up with friends or enjoy some quiet time alone. Don't miss out on this hidden gem!“
“I've been here probably a dozen times for coffee and snacks. Finally got a larger meal today. The bread (possibly sourdough) is amazing. Some of the best I've had In the city. And it was a generous chunk with my soup. Next time I'm getting a sandwich “
“This place is a Sunday afternoon vibe. Chill relax place to talk with friends and be blown away with every drink on their menu. I'm a sucker for hidden away coffee shops to begin with, but this one deserves all the stars I can give. Very unique, very Detroit vibes. I love it.Edit 2024: during the weekday, it's a quiet and chill place to work. There's great wifi too. Their playlist slaps, so be warned, the vibe is real.Dietary restrictions: A huge selection of alt milks!“
“New bucket list: the sandwich menu here. Tasty and great value- and the coffee and banana bread was good as well. Friendly service, larger than normal selection of loose teas, and plenty of seating and parking. Support your local small business- especially one that will be a welcome addition to it's “
“It shouldn't be too hard to find good coffee, great service and a warm atmosphere but these days it is far too rare. Luckily, I found The Office Coffee Shop which has all three. The Office is the furthest shop from me. Every day I wake up and pass my corner coffee shop, Starbucks, and two more local coffee spots to get to The Office where I'm certain I'll get quality coffee from a friendly and funny staff. It's always worth the trip.“
“I absolutely love Crispelli's Bakery to pick up a treat and coffee either on the run or to linger over coffee chatting with friend(s).There's not one bad thing there but I especially love their cinnamon croissant rolls. Oh, breads fabulous but I am addicted to the lemon rosemary sea salt bread. Atmosphere also so pleasant and when nice out, outdoor patio is set up.Kid-friendliness: Kids always pop in with parents for bake goods and treats.“
“Stopped in here with a friend before a class at Sister Pie. I had a delicious BLT on perfect French bread. The bacon was meaty, the tomatoes perfect and the lettuce crisp. My friend had a Ham & Cheese no ham because she's vegetarian. The owner customized her sandwich by leaving off the ham and adding more veggies. We got a single order of fries to share and it was plenty for both of us - some of the best shoestrings I've had in quite a while. The food was delivered out to us at the picnic table outside on quirky mismatched plates. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and the service was great. There's also a wonderful Old English Sheepdog on premesis who is very friendly.“
“This is definitely an establishment you don't want to miss out on visiting. Their service is always impeccable and friendly and very welcoming. Their pastries are amazing, their coffee and the ambiance is beautiful. It gives you all the warm and cozy feels of visiting your favorite grandma. ✨ I would highly recommend visiting this establishment it's great for business, meeting up with friends, and they also allow you to rent out the space for private events!“
“Gathering Coffee Co was recommended to me by a local. During the first time visiting, I was given a warm welcome. Jacque, One of the owners of the shop greeted me and shared a delightful conversation. She provided me a great experience and answered all of my coffee questions. Isabelle was the barista that made my coffee and it was fantastic. The shop is very pretty. Seating is great. Wifi is provided to the public and shown on displays located throughout the shop. Outlets are everywhere. The interior decoration is vibrant enjoyable to see. Plants all around the shops. They have a really great retail display and options. There is a spot near the restroom where if anyone needed a clothing item, they can take it. As a coffee shop enthusiast, the experience is beautiful. Parking on the street between the shop and comic store is free. The space is not too crowded and a great place to study, do work, and meet up with friends. They've even got board games and books for individuals who want to do activities within. One side faces the street and contains large windows for a good street view. They also have a darkroom in the back for those who process their own film. It's worth asking about it to the owners. I highly recommend this local business.“
“Drinks were great! Very nice ambiance, clean and aesthetically pleasing. I did notice there seemed to be one person working when I was there at 8 pm. No worries at all! Just hope they were okay during rushes! You might want to expect a little bit of a wait.“
“The Dovetail is a great coffee shop. The owner is a sweetheart, and makes fabulous drinks and food, at reasonable prices. There is plenty of seating, and the place is full of great art to take in, including all of the beautiful wall murals. They have plenty of non-dairy milk options, and tea options. There are a lot of creative drink specials, and the owner does a great job explaining the menu.Vegetarian options: Lots of non-dairy milk options, and vegetarian menu itemsDietary restrictions: Non-dairy milk options, some gf options as wellParking: Large lot with plenty of close parking“
“I always enjoy working from here. The atmosphere is chill and conducive to quiet work or quiet reflection or people-watching. Conveniently so, I used to work in the office space directly above Atomic Coffee until only recently.Dietary restrictions: Vegan“
“Hey ?? Shramitarians Trusting all is well-being with y’all? I’m back with another of my go to spots that makes my hobby the best so I have to turn you on to them I don’t gate keep I share the wealth of knowledge especially when it comes to vegan, plant based, shramitarian options to my community so what our further ado it’s my pleasure to introduce you to dooped donuts ? man I love this place it’s the only place in Detroit to get vegan donuts to my knowledge it’s a vibe in the shop located directly across from the opera house and next to I believe buddy’s pizza on the corner of Madison don’t quote me I could be wrong I just know how to get there when I’m jones’n for a healthy sweet option, they are seasonal when it comes to the flavors of the donuts which is what they call the the spice of life (variety). The customer services is a whole vibe I’m always greeted like royalty and took care of like a king by the host of that day I’d like to shout out my friend that works here but for professional reasons I won’t he knows who he is and that’s more than enough hopefully he greets you when you stop in and get your vegan donut fix the only thing that’s not a vibe it the parking in this area it’s always busy and you have to figure it out so be prepared to walk and find adequate parking to experience this vibe I’m in reference to, its kid friendly and the donuts a fully vegan so go ahead and grab a dozen they do sell out fast and close during weekdays @ 2pm and 3pm on weekends ikr I wish it was 24 hrs as well ? so as always enjoy and save me some hope to see you there soonDietary restrictions: Fully Vegan Donut ? Shop…”Parking: Parking can be hectic in the front of this establishment but it’s worth the hassle of parking anywhere especially if your vegan it’s the only vegan donut place I know of in Detroit, MichiganKid-friendliness: Vegan Is Always Kid-friendly they are welcome for sure“
“always someone helpful taking my order, my food is fresh, the menu is seasonal, and an almond cardamom chai will forever be my comfort drink. idc if it’s just milk and syrup! also, the butternut squash galette cannot be missed.the only thing i would do differently is add some comfier seating. the chairs, while being perfect for the space and productivity, are a little tough to make work for reading or sticking around a while.otherwise, there’s a collection of books you can read during your time there, and the attached record shop is work a look. could definitely spend some time here.Parking: it’s behind the building. there’s a side street parallel to gratiot starting at russel that will take you there. it’s a cobblestone road.“
“I had been going to Birmingham Roast for years before Royal Oak Roast opened, and it is just as amazing as the original. Drinks are incredible (though the “Joy” drinks are pretty sweet, I always order half sweet), the breakfast burrito is a must try, as is the açaí bowl. They constantly have new “seasonal” menu items which is great for regulars to get something new to try. This will forever be my favorite coffee shop in the metro Detroit area!!“
“Literally enjoyed my time here to study, the place is so chill. Service is great and the coffee is too! Desserts are yummy, my fav is the Caramel Milk Cake, I got it as a carry out and It didn't make it past the table ?I would like them to add just 1 or 2 warm savory items to the menu and bamn, they'll have to evict me! ?? Try this place if you want more comfort while studying, I'm sure you'll love it! ☺️“
“Staff was personable and helped create a drink that fit my preferences! Highly recommend the orange cardamom latte with some chocolate. Syrup made in house, which is a plus. The vibe was cozy and suitable for somewhere to chill solo or chat with friends over a cup of joe or tea. Free designated parking lot was clutch.“
“Thanks for the reply to my review. I hope you will sincerely consider my comments on the lack of accessibility for customers using wheelchairs. All we want is to be fully independent and go about a normal life like everyone else. The small things like having to ask for help opening a door add up. Thanks!Their coffee is exceptional. Each cup is brewed fresh to order and I have never been disappointed with the quality. Be prepared to pay a premium price for a premium coffee. A very small cup is over $3.50. I wish I could afford to buy a pound to take home! The staff are always very friendly too. My biggest complaint is handicapped accessibility. Although the building has automatic doors and the coffee shop has a ramp, their glass doors aren't automatic and are so heavy that I can't get in or out without asking someone for assistance.Wheelchair accessibility: They have a ramp but their doors are almost impossible to use for someone using a wheelchair“
“this is my fave coffee shop of all time; i love the cozy atmosphere and the aerocano took over my life. also the baristas are so sweet and always remembered my order...unfortunately i had to move away from michigan but u will forever be in my heart, lucky detroit </3“
“I'm not a breakfast person, but I still love their food. Everything at this place is worth it. Im certain every item off the menu is fantastic. Even just their baked good and lattes. We love this place. Their prices are high but it's the rare case that I think price matches quality.“
“Nice family working atmosphere and the brothers know their coffee! They grew up with coffee beans and that kind of experience is hard to come by these days.Lots of different kinds of roasts. Family and local Detroiters make up the workforce.“
