Cafe Sous Terre Reviews
Great vibes, great coffee and tasty food. What a great place!!!
One of my favorite spots in Detroit! It's a great place to get some work or studying done during the day, and it turns into a fun hangout in the evening. They host different events throughout the week, including Sunday jazz nights, which are always a nice touch. The staff are welcoming, the space is warm and cozy, and everything is kept clean. And the quiche is seriously delicious!
Excellent coffee, very cool space

Cafe Sous Terre is a cozy underground spot with a speakeasy vibe, located in the basement of an old house near Wayne State University. The interior is charming, with a great design that creates a relaxed atmosphere. The space is small, but it remains inviting and perfect for unwinding. The cafe offers a fantastic latte with a sugar crust and is known for its toasted everything bagel with plain cream cheese. The food and drinks match the laid-back vibe of the place. Visitors can enjoy cocktails, with the mixologist delivering exceptional drinks like the best Manhattan ever. The bar area features interesting fixtures and a surprisingly good selection of drinks, although some may find the cocktails a bit pricey. The cafe hosts several events each week, such as a DJ and live jazz, adding to the lively yet cozy atmosphere. The limited food menu includes tasty options like the veggie quiche and Croque Monsieur sandwich. The staff is quick and friendly, providing excellent service. There is wifi available, making it a good spot to chill, read, study, or relax. Note: No laptops after 5 PM, and it’s uncertain if the place is accessible for wheelchairs or strollers.
