“My husband and I went to Tamales Mary after a surgical procedure to grab some lunch and I've been craving it ever since!
We had the tamales, some street corn and flan. 🤤

The only thing I'd change is the tables and chairs but I also had just had a surgery so they just weren't as comfortable for me at that moment. They are similar to fold out chairs.“

The chicken mole is cooked to perfection, the tortillas are homemade and flavorful, not bland like a lot of places, and I will definitely be going back again to try more of their food! It really felt like stepping into Mexico.“

The steak tacos were really good. Normally I find most places to have very dry steak tacos but their steak was juicy and delicious! “The food is pretty good it’s authentic and it’s very cheap so it’s not bad. This restaurant wants you to seat yourself and wait for a server and then once you’re done you go to the front and pay for your meal. I don’t really mind it but for some they might. I wish the menu had a better description of the ingredients in the menu items for example it only said tamale but there are many different types of meats and salsa to put into a tamale. I’d go again though because it was pretty good for a group of me and my friends.“

There was a bit of a wait since they were busy, but one bite and I totally understood why. The service was excellent! My server was so attentive and friendly. I also ordered a steak torta to go, and even though there was a small mix up with the order, they handled it like pros, remaking the steak torta and letting me keep both! Honestly, the prices and quality here blow the neighboring spots out of the water. High quality, great value, and even better people. I will definitely be back. “Ordered flautas and they were so filling, loved the salsa that they bring out to the table the only thing I noticed was that the chips didn't look homemade, they looked store bought. The chips were crisp and tasty but I look forward to a good crispy fresh tortilla chip with salsa when I go to Mexican restaurants. The salsa however was so yummy and just the right amount of spice 😋

I will say that the menu seemed smaller than I'm used to. My husband ordered tacos of different varieties and they looked good and they were well portionrd with meat and double layered with milagro tortillas.

If they have the strawberry horchata be sure to try it, you won't regret it if it tastes anything like their regular horchata. My husband liked the agua de Jamaica he had.

The only reason I gave 4 stars was because they didn't have AC and it was a hot day so with the food I was sweating eating it.“

“This is a place you definitely need to try out. The food was great. Their salsa exceptional, but we could have used two bowls of it with 6 people. Only the first chips and one salsa are free. Beans and rice good. The various dishes our group got were all very good. Their margarita needed more lime, but was brought over when asked. Servers were friendly and accommodating. Very nice and family run. Let’s support them Grand Rapids!“

I love they are open later on the weekend but would love for them to be open until 10pm the rest of the week or maybe even 11. I never seen a place with such odd hours
