“So I’m from out of town and we needed some place to go to get something to eat so we chose this place due to the ratings. This place did not disappoint. I got the fried shrimp and my friend got the fried catfish and they were both very delicious. Definitely go again if I’m in the area.“

He anticipated the need for change to pay the parking meter and actually went out to feed the meter. “What a great find just across the street from Wayne State. Stopped in with some friends for lunch between volleyball games and I could not have been happier with the choice. They have slices for a quick order, or you can order small and large square and round pizzas. I highly recommend the Detroit Style square. I had the meat lovers square (4 slice) and it was one of the best I have had. The crust had that slight hint of a great yeast dough, superb crunch, plentiful meat toppings, all with the perfect amount of char or crisp. Will be back and introducing my office downtown to this little shop. They only have about four smaller tables and a few bar stools on the windows for eating in. Worth the stop.“

“I was turned onto this establishment from co-workers of mine. I stay down the street for work a couple times a week. After hearing multiple people tell me I had to try it, I figured it was time to pull the trigger. Let me first start by saying, during certain hours they have in store delivery service. This is a big deal to me, since most third parties charge a lot in extra fees before adding in the tip. I spoke with the owner Joe on the phone with ordering. I was having trouble deciding between chicken parmesan or chicken fettuccine alfredo. He stated that he makes the sauces from scratch and to give the chicken fettuccine alfredo a try being my first time. Mind you I also ordered pepperoni bread which is the size of a medium to large pizza at some places. I did not realize this till the food showed up. When the food arrived, it was nice and hot. The chicken fettuccine was a very generous portion. When the menu stated it was coming with garlic bread, I figured it might just be two slices of garlic bread? I was completely wrong about that. It was two decent size loaves of fresh made garlic bread. The side salad was not skimped on either. It was packed full in the container with plenty of veggies and cheese. All of this food, two cokes, and a tip to the driver set my back $32. There was enough food for two people! I could not finish all of it. If you’re on the fence about this place, don’t be. It seems very had to find decent food these days after covid for some reason. It just seems that the care and passion are all but gone. Joe told me that he’s worked in multiple kitchens, with over 30 years of experience. I can’t wait to try other items off of their menu like the pizza and subs. I’ll save those for another time. Highly recommend.Parking: If lucky enough to get street parking, good for you. If not, private lot rates are between $10 and $100, depending on what is going on. “I was searching for a restaurant or something somewhere near the Fisher Theater to kill a little time, and I walked a little and found this place. I was a little off put by the fact that my first interaction basically was "we only have 4 tops, so can you sit at the bar?" I mentioned I feel odd sitting at a bar and not ordering alcohol as I typically only drink water. I sat at the bar, and well, my server Ray was fantastic. I asked if they had hot chocolate and was told that they can make it and not only did they make it she made sure to put it in a hot cup with a lid so I could refill and it would stay hot. I then asked about some food options, and tonight, they had a few specials. One was a pizza, and one was this delicious gnocchi dish I ordered. I was excited to hear the word Gnocci as I love it. So I ordered it with the bread. I was highly impressed with this dish. My only small note would be I wish the Gnocci had remained crispy and not soft just the way I prefer it, but it was still delicious and hot and fresh. I am more than full and didn't finish the bread, thank god!! All the food looked great, and I observed nothing but great customer service. I will tell you it's on the more expensive side as my Gnocci and Bread were $18 by them selves. The portion appeared small for that price, but as I write this, I am stuffed. I would definitely recommend this place for a visit, especially if you are downtown before a show. Whatever they're doing is working.I've only had their pizza, but:- Crust: has real flavor, is crispy, but has some chew to it, phenomenal- Sauce: more on the sweet side, tastes like it's homemade, it's great- Cheese: real deal, it's not mushy, it's got chew to it, and has a bit of a parmesan kick- Toppings: everything I've gotten is good, but I think you can put virtually anything on the crust/sauce/cheese combo and it would be incredible“
