“Beautiful restaurant…softly lit interior with rustic brick walls…perfect for a date night! l ordered their “Ragout Alla Bolognese” and house-made bread. The bolognese was pretty good, only because it too “porky” for ME! However, the bread…oh my god. So fresh, warm, flavorful (topped with herbs), and fluffy!! Reminded me of focaccia, so delicious. Our waitress was a sweetheart as well!“

“I stopped in to try the Woodward and the Farnsworth Funghi. I was able to split the pizza and do just that! The cashier was great! This pizza is delicious!!! I stopped in at lunchtime, so it was a 45 minute wait- and totally worth it!! It's a casual spot with many options & many customers.There's a small lot and street parking.“

“Stopped in during the NFL draft weekend. Took about 5 minutes to get a table. Our server, Rebecca, was fantastic. Being as busy as they were, she had our drinks and waters on the table promptly and answered our questions about a few menu items. Went with the Truffled Bumblebee for an appetizer, which consisted of whipped ricotta, bee pollen, fig and truffle honey served with Walnut focaccia bread. Outstanding dish. Even my nephew, who is a picky eater enjoyed it. Ordered a larger pizza and it was enough to feed all three of us. Dough was good, toppings were fresh and it really tasty. “OMG. Best pizza we have had in a very long time. I've stalked them on Facebook for awhile. We were in Detroit for training and we grabbed 2 pies on the way to our hotel. Holy crap. As close to pizza perfection as you can get. Whenever we go to another city or state, I always look up best rated pizza places so we have had a lot of good pizza. “Zizo's is a lovely family owned restaurant where the owners pay a lot of attention to their customers and put a lot of love and work into their fresh, handmade pizza. “I was turned onto this establishment from co-workers of mine. I stay down the street for work a couple times a week. After hearing multiple people tell me I had to try it, I figured it was time to pull the trigger. Let me first start by saying, during certain hours they have in store delivery service. This is a big deal to me, since most third parties charge a lot in extra fees before adding in the tip. I spoke with the owner Joe on the phone with ordering. I was having trouble deciding between chicken parmesan or chicken fettuccine alfredo. He stated that he makes the sauces from scratch and to give the chicken fettuccine alfredo a try being my first time. Mind you I also ordered pepperoni bread which is the size of a medium to large pizza at some places. I did not realize this till the food showed up. When the food arrived, it was nice and hot. The chicken fettuccine was a very generous portion. When the menu stated it was coming with garlic bread, I figured it might just be two slices of garlic bread? I was completely wrong about that. It was two decent size loaves of fresh made garlic bread. The side salad was not skimped on either. It was packed full in the container with plenty of veggies and cheese. All of this food, two cokes, and a tip to the driver set my back $32. There was enough food for two people! I could not finish all of it. If you’re on the fence about this place, don’t be. It seems very had to find decent food these days after covid for some reason. It just seems that the care and passion are all but gone. Joe told me that he’s worked in multiple kitchens, with over 30 years of experience. I can’t wait to try other items off of their menu like the pizza and subs. I’ll save those for another time. “Went with a group of 6 lady friends. My meal was the veal parmesan with mashed potato and I was pleased to see asparagus on my plate when it arrived! Hot breads with garlic was immediately brought to our table while we waited. Food came quickly and was delicious, not overcooked. I also had an espresso martini for the first time. I love a good pizza crust and this is the best pizza crust I've ever had. It was crunchy on the outside, super soft on the inside and at about an inch and a half diameter, it's the largest crust around.We dropped in for a quick slice, for 5$ it's pretty preposterous and definitely delicious. We got it 'dirty' but next time I shall plead for extra extra dirty. The garlic sent the enjoyment level into the stratosphere. I can't wait to return for a full pizza. “I was searching for a restaurant or something somewhere near the Fisher Theater to kill a little time, and I walked a little and found this place. I was a little off put by the fact that my first interaction basically was "we only have 4 tops, so can you sit at the bar?" I mentioned I feel odd sitting at a bar and not ordering alcohol as I typically only drink water. I sat at the bar, and well, my server Ray was fantastic. I asked if they had hot chocolate and was told that they can make it and not only did they make it she made sure to put it in a hot cup with a lid so I could refill and it would stay hot. I then asked about some food options, and tonight, they had a few specials. One was a pizza, and one was this delicious gnocchi dish I ordered. I was excited to hear the word Gnocci as I love it. So I ordered it with the bread. I was highly impressed with this dish. My only small note would be I wish the Gnocci had remained crispy and not soft just the way I prefer it, but it was still delicious and hot and fresh. I am more than full and didn't finish the bread, thank god!! All the food looked great, and I observed nothing but great customer service. I will tell you it's on the more expensive side as my Gnocci and Bread were $18 by them selves. The portion appeared small for that price, but as I write this, I am stuffed. I would definitely recommend this place for a visit, especially if you are downtown before a show. “We usually have bad luck with finding a good Italian restaurant but this place was fantastic!! The food quality was fresh and very tasty (the ranch dressing was very good as per other reviews). The Andrea Bocelli inspired spaghetti carbonara and lamb shank were perfect! The menu offers a large variety of items, we will definitely revisit (but next time no apps as they’re filling, along with the free bread given as well). The restaurant is kid friendly, and plenty of high chairs are available.The only complaint I have is I was leaving the restaurant with a stroller, and the doors don’t have automatic open functions and many staff were at the front desk chatting and using their cell phones which was unprofessional.“

“Buddy's pizza was close to our hotel. Had detroit style pizza before, but it was never that great. Shared a 4 square and it was plenty for 2 people. Bocce beer was good too. We actually went back a second time the next night. The crust is the best part, crisp and doesn't sag like most.“

“All I gotta say is their Pepperoni Rolls are a Detroit Treasure. If you haven't tried one of these fluffy favor bombs; then you are truly doing a disservice to yourself. The staff was exceptionally warm and attentive, from the door guy, hostesses, and waitress. She was also quick, attentive, accommodating, and surprisingly for as busy as it was, she was there anytime my family needed something. “I've been living downriver for several years, and only recently discovered this place. I wish I had tried it sooner. It demolishes other pizza shops. Whatever they're doing is working.I've only had their pizza, but:- Crust: has real flavor, is crispy, but has some chew to it, phenomenal- Sauce: more on the sweet side, tastes like it's homemade, it's great- Cheese: real deal, it's not mushy, it's got chew to it, and has a bit of a parmesan kick- Toppings: everything I've gotten is good, but I think you can put virtually anything on the crust/sauce/cheese combo and it would be incredible“
